    Same with botan's choice. Having alone time most of the time is really blissful, not for everyone since there are some who prefer to have people around yet those who like being alone can entertain themselves and the peace you get is soothing while also helps you rest your mind.

    Living with someone has advantages and misadvantages. For one, it's really great to always have people by your side to do random things and helping out, but that also pretty much means lack of privacy, and you may never have a moment for yourself when one needed.
    On the other hand living by your own gives you tons of privacy and freedom to go down in your thoughs and activities. But hanging with friends goes to become a pass time that needs to be relished.
    I went thrugh both when university, I couldn't stop thinking like "I really want to be alone", both later "Good. I wonder what are they doing? I wanna hang out" really bad later.

    Touche Botan. When you're an Introvert, it's nice to have human interactions once in a while to boost our social energy but for the most part we mainly prefer being left alone to ourselves to enjoy our own company & are comfortable doing so.
    Not every introvert can put up boundaries like other Holomembers such as KanaCoco. Their dynamic worked because they understood each others' boundaries well enough and are comfortable living with each others' quirks.

    I totally get what she says, i'm an introvert person so i don't mind hanging out a bit with people but i totally need to spend some time in total isolation from any social interaction to recharge my batteries, maybe 1-2 day shut in per week specifically. You can't do that if you live with someone.

      Neither do I.
      They seem to ignore the fact that Holomems have personal lives outside of streaming. One of the benefits of leaving your parents' house is that you can bring dates or friends over etc.
      Not to mention some of the members may already have a significant other they live with. That would be a problem with a shared house.
      The girls already do offcolabs once in a while. Fans should be happy with that.

      @dragoonssrbguilty4719 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm guessing after that little attempt at a "Holohouse" + the Area 51 shared apartment some viewers do want to see the girls have that like, roomcom concept of "besties living together" because it doest give for more impromptu interactions tho it's definitely not our place to ask for it.

    You make a bestie, you become roomies, then you learn how much of a disaster they are. You end up making dirty-dish buckets because they don't do dishes and theirs fill up, they start putting their dirty dishes in yours. They make sandwiches and leave it all lying out. They don't clean, suck with laundry, duties. Some people were carried by their parents like that, doing everything for them. Make sure your potential roomie and yourself have the right stuff in them before you jump in and do it. Defo need alone-time (the seiso kind) ability where you're moving, that's just pure mental health essential.

    I'm an incredibly clingy and physically affectionate person when I'm with someone I care about, whereas my partner is perfectly content spending time by herself and needs her alone time breaks or she just wouldn't be able to cope. Thankfully we learned how it works best for us because we communicate clearly and she knows how to set firm boundaries with me. It might not work if we lived together 24/7/365 but she actually works overseas in remote areas about 60% of the year and has to live in a different city for work 30 to 35% of the year. Its hard because due to the nature of her job I can't speak to her other than heavily censored and reviewed formal emails for up to three months at a time (despite the insanely strict nda we both had to sign) but that 5 to 10% of the year where she isn't working and gets a few days off around a weekend she will pick me up and we head out to her late grandparents house in a fairly remote area and shut ourselves away completely. While we are there it's just us, no phones or visitors (except sometimes our one other friend who is just the sweetest comes to stay and play for a few days). When my partner needs a cool down day she makes sure to tell me very clearly that this is what she needs and in turn I make sure to respect that, usually by working in the woodland attached to the property doing habitat maintenance or spend the day fishing etc or if the weather is just too bad I will occupy myself elsewhere in the house. I won't lie, it can be difficult from my perspective since we have such little time to spend together but so long as she comes to fetch me and lead me home at the end of the day for a nice hot shower and to curl up together for sleep then I would do anything to make sure she is happy.

    • @Tetsamaru
      @Tetsamaru ปีที่แล้ว +4

      its more than "dont bother me today, dont even talk to me, dont make eye contact with me even if I see you in a hallway when i need to go use the bathroom."
      Its other things like say, a Neat freak and hoarder become roommates (say their besties that met at school and hang around alot and even work in the sam company). The neatfreak does dishes, mops the kitchen and does proper laundrey. The Roommate lets their dishes pile up, leaves half eatened food on the table and just leaves clothes on the ground or on top of the washer and dryer.
      When someone wants "Their space", that usually implies more than just their bedroom. Especially for those that have hobbies thats NOT playing video games. People do arts and crafts in the living room (or a special extra room if they have a big enough house). They do work outs and maybe have gym equipment. Or perhaps they have different work schedules and 1 works graveyard shift and 1 works day time shifts. So one is constantly awake while the other sleeps. Even if the roommate did their best to try and keep noise to a "Minimum", no one is perfectly silent and what if they want to have some other friends over or wanna do some cooking like deep frying (that cackles alot and makes noise).
      Unless you're saying you're gonna stay cooped up in your bedroom all day (again depends on what your hobbies are). You wont really get that true alone time where you can be with just your own thoughts or have a "Safe space" where everything is clean (or unlclean if you're into that, i mean have you seen some Otaku rooms?")
      So I can understand where Botan is coming from here. Korone and Okayu have also made similar comments to when people say they should live together since they seem such BFF and so close. Spoiler alert, They both rather feel they DONT want to live together.
      Also usually when people have that mood of "I wanna be alone, dont fuck with me". You dont schedule those days. its like a mood swing. So sometimes that wont align with your roommate, Its especially awkward if your Roomate is also a family member.

  • @yamiRic

    That's why KanaCoco's dokyouzo concept is the best for Hololive members. It consists of more private time even when they live together and share same living room, bathroom, and kitchen.

    • @SoraRaida

      Even with the KanaCoco house, there's no concept of privacy. Just because you live in different rooms, you're still sharing the amenities and will interact with people.

  • @OpXarxa
    @OpXarxa ปีที่แล้ว +1

    as someone who's been living in sharehouses for the last decade(god damn housing market bubble...), I think the girls really underestimate the alone time you can get while living with others. Generally, it's as easy as laying "my room is off-limits unless invited in" boundaries. Even if you just want days off, people will generally end up making a whatsapp(or LINE I guess in japan) group for the tenants for when someone needs to give a quick'n'easy heads-up like "I need me time today".
    For pekora, it's more understandable, though. her sense of personal space is way heftier than normal.
