- Thanks to Daniel Brace from the Syrianska FC media team I was invited to have pitchside and behind the scenes access to the fiery Södertälje (Kebab) derby. You will not believe how it ended.

As a Swede I still don't have understood why they are two clubs. Both have been in the top tier of Swedish football and I know both are based on Assyrian heritage. But why are there two clubs?
I see where you’re coming from. The clubs really don’t like each other though so the root of that problem is probably why they aren’t unified
Suryoyes (the ones in red) dont see themselves as assyrians and they see themselves as a different ethinicity due to the language difference and land difference, Suryoyes are based in North Syria/Turkey while Assyrians are in Iraq.
The Assyrians (blue and red) think that they are Assyrians like themselves.
I can explain. So basically they are one people and of the same heritage but over the years, they have divided into two "parties" or "tribes" (whatever you want to call it). One half identifies as Assyrians (Assyriska) and the other half identifies as Arameans (Syrianska). It's a very stupid political debate but the both parties hate eachother, that's why there are two clubs.

What's interesting is that both Assyriska and Syrianska (Assyrians/Syriacs) are the same people but identify as two different groups!
Both teams have played in the highest division (Allsvenskan) with Assyriska reaching the Swedish Cup final at one stage. Imagine both teams merge into one, how strong they would be with the Assyrian/Syriac community in Södertälje behind them!
I spoke with both ultra groups and they said they had family on the opposite sides but on matchday they hate each other. It’s crazy that this is the case. Does make you wonder if they sat both down and convinced them to join forces how powerful they could be!

Yes and no, the other dont rule out the other.
Assyrians is an ancient people from Syria/Iraq. Syrians could be anyone living in Syria, could be heritage from Libanon, Turkey, Syria etc.
@@rob41nSyriac are not Syrians. Syriac are Assyrians from the Syriac orthodox/Catholic Church. Syrians are Arabs. Syriac are Assyrians
Its embarrassing from to see the game stops. Nothing touches the ground and every flare was structured. Bad decisions to stop the game when it was a good atmosphere. Police, SVFF is football killer
If they could just learn not to use fireworks at a game they might’ve managed to see a whole game

@@the_footballtouristwell Assyriska and Nordic United fc (another Södertälje club) are in the same league this season, maybe you could come since it is considered a derby and Nordic United are a great side in division 1

Great atmosphere ruined by the idiots with the fireworks on both sides. What a shame .... I would have been gutted if I would have been there all the way from Canada.
I remember the Hammarby Linus Hallenius goal against Syrianska a few years back. It's on youtube for all to see. It shan't be forgotten.There was a Bajen Fans gathering at Medis Debaser later that evening.

@@the_footballtourist Nothing related to the video except it was a game against Syrianska, Hammarby got relegated from the highest divison Allsvenskan 2009 and had a rough couple of years with one season even being 1 goal scored in the 95th minute from qualifying for survival in the 2nd leage. Do you watch superettan games?
I haven’t ever seen a Superettan game but never say never. If I come to Sweden it will more than likely be for a Malmö game though. Who would you recommend seeing in the Superettan?

@@the_footballtourist gävlevallen(gävle) is a bigger stadium, with more capacity, so that probably is the better stadium. although i've only been to jernvallen(sandviken) and i really like the vibe there

These 2 teams are bad for Swedish football tbh.. They dont identity themselves as Swedish football clubs, They were created for just a small minority in Sweden and most fans dont indentify themselves as Swedes either so why even play in a Swedish League?. Best thing they could ever so would be to either take both teams and merge and call it like Södertälje fk or something , Better for Södertälje and Sweden if instead for identifying like assyrians/syrians they would indentify themselves as Swedes and way waaay better for Swedish football when one club of them merged would have a bigger supporter base tbh. Should be a demand of any clubs in the biggest Leagues that you need to have at least 10 games per year in allsvenskan with minimum 4000 home supporters to be eligible to play in allsvenskan (we have enough clubs for that) and like 2500 in Superettan. There is no point to have clubs like Brommapojkarna with like 100 fans if that in Superettan/allsvenskan since football is a tv sport when you could have Gais there for example who atleast has tens of thousands of supporters or Örgryte/Gefle/VSK/Östersund/Sundsvall etc who have their own fanbase atleast.

This is your opinion only. It is also one-way and quite bad opinion. Let me refresh your memory. When Assyriska FFS was created ... you probably weren't even born. When Assyrian contributed to the Swedish football, you apparently weren't even born. Then don't forget, the Assyrian people in Sweden are the most friendly towards the Swedish culture and among the most integrated. Better to chose the Assyrian name and not be a terrorist than pretending to be Swedish but underneath of the surface beeing a devil who wants Swedish society badly. Think and consider better next time.

Hahaha breaking a match for that? Then Hammarby's match against Gothenburg would have been interrupted in 5 seconds. I know it may be sensitive, but shouldn't Football in Södertälje be merged with Syrianska/Assyriska and Södertälje FK so that you could challenge for the Allsvenskan because as a Hammarby fan in Södertälje, it was fun with Allsvenskan football in Södertälje. You should have the public 💚🤍

Då skulle jag föreslå att djurgården och hammarby slås ihop till ett lag och bildar Stockholm Fk så att de kan tillsammans dominera allsvenskan.
