Me too, it wouldn't compare at all though. The brands they were tasting aren't very good. I agree it would've been interesting though. They should have all of the crew members make some and then guess whose is whose.

Rocco Spino true I am not an expert on salsa by any means but if you are looking for one to enjoy it should be maybe like 40% tomato and about 60% of the other things. But for mass produced salsas they use more tomato since tomato is cheaper than other things.

is not, there are thousands of types of salsas, in Mexico for example, you can find as many salsas without tomato as salsas with tomato. Your world is so small.

jarred salsa is cooked from the pressure cooking process so it has a different texture/taste than raw tomatoes.

For the love of god, next time you guys go to London, ask someone where you should eat. You had food at the Slug and Lettuce and now judge all British food by that standard. I have been to America multiple times and don't think Denny's is representative of all American food.

I love how she describes every salsa as looking/smelling like tomato sauce.
Link did it a few times, too, and I imagine they meant it smelled more like a red sauce you'd put on pasta, which is usually seasoned with basil, thyme and oregano (all of which have distinctive scents) versus cilantro or chiles. I'm prettttty sure they weren't surprised at the salsa smelling like tomatoes.

@@idahofallssanta Nah, you can make great mild salsa, needs to lean more towards pico than ketchup/sauce though. Also, it’s not like these brands get much better when you get the spicy versions. Still very tomato sauce forward.

They got mild salsa that was the mistake. Medium salsa is the best. Not too spicy but just enough and you can actually taste the flavor over the spice
They also used picante on the first salsa then complained it was too thin 🤣

I think each brand had mild in common. Not all have a medium salsa variety. So to stay consistent, needs a baseline flavor.

That may be true but if it was only tomato it would be tomato paste , a good salsa has to have a fine mix between tomato and peppers , onion, and spices . I personally wouldn’t enjoy a salsa that tastes of mainly tomato

The Pace salsa they used (at least according to their reference picture) is picante sauce, which is thinner by nature. Pace does have a chunky salsa.

What is with the weird looks? You've never had sweet salsa? Mango, peach, pineapple? Those are my favorite salsas!! My favorite is mango habanero salsa, it's soooo good! Newmans own Mango is amazing too!!! I could go through a whole bag of chips, just eating that salsa. Plus, it's amazing on loaded nachos. My favorite food ever!!!! 😍😍😋😋

None of these are actual salsa.
