      yes. another analogy could be that our 5 senses are not enough to experience everything in this world. We need special instruments to measure the unseen Radio waves, EM waves etc. Similarly God is of some energy form that can't be experienced by 5 sense nor any instruments to date.

      You fall apart when challenged intellectually. Atheism is nonsense. The only logical point to step is being agnositc, because you cant probe or disapprove that there is a god. You can watch the video, he has some valid points.

    I think for a westerner like this she asked "Why doesn't God reveal himself?" hoping for a clearcut answer. The problem with people who don't believe in God is that they want these extremely concise and clearly defined answers. God needs to do absolutely nothing for us, to believe in God without him revealing himself is powerful. I don't believe in blind faith but you have to be able to believe in God undoubtedly. You have to find and experience God, the point of our human existence is to find Waheguru and reconnect with that creator. If we know God is there and that he does exist our human life becomes rather pointless.

    The main reason why Sikh believe in God is that they say that they can meditate and experience God right here in this world. They can feel God which is very hard to explain. My question is that how do we know that what you are experiencing is a God connection? I can be listening to rock music and experience extreme happiness or I can be on drugs and experience euphoria. How do we differentiate?
    I have been very religious all my life and all my family members are amritdharis (baptised). It was only recently that I started questioning things and start to think independently.
    We say that upon meditating on God's name, we can obtain ridhi/sidhis/supernatural powers as a side affect even though Sikh should never be after that. However, we do not have any evidence that anyone has obtained these powers.

      Thats simple Singh. Mahapurakhs. Bhramgyanis. Go into their sangat and you will know what it means to experience God. Its literally in gurbani, mentioned hundreds of times. Satguru has appointed God's people as ministers. The Guru is the owner of the storehouse and he has given the key to the Sants. The ones that have made it, they are here, although hard to find. Have you read Sukhmani Sahib by Guru Arjan Dev Ji Sache Patshah? Bhramgyani, the knower of God, is Aap Parmesar, is himself the Nirankar. Once you've met one you will never doubt your life and anything else ever again. Amrit and kirpa rains down from their with a mere glance. You're talking about ridhi sidhi? That is nothing compared to what they are capable of? I'm speaking from personal experience

  • @rationallogic5325
    @rationallogic5325 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A point, if you are going to discuss religion with well read atheists you are going to have to stop making generalization errors. Just because someone is an atheist does not mean they have stop looking for evidence for God. It simply means that so far they have not found sufficient evidence therefore not believe any gods exist.
    Also a distinction between atheism and agnosticism. Atheism is about belief, or rather the lack thereof, and agnosticism is about the lack of knowledge. So one can be both agnostic and atheist. That's what I am. I don't know a god doesn't exist, but I don't believe any exist. It's a tentative position that could be changed by future evidence.
    And a God that does not reveal itself is the same as one that does not exist. So saying that god is hiding so you cannot prove him is not going to convince any critical thinking atheist.

    Her points are innocent. When she says, "I can't..." either due to not receiving this or that. But the use of an ideal of a God, is a projection of human understanding of start and end, up and down. There is a manipulative invisible hand because this chair would not be here without my tangible hand. it's interesting that the host likens a God to a magician. Also that he refers to a God as a "he".. ascribing a sex. But as I understand why some cultures create a God concept, I don't fault people. We should speak in person one day brother. Peace.

    • @aloowq
      @aloowq 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Life Trod SGGSji refers to God as mother and father. The host refers to God as He purely for the fluidity of his conversation with the other person, instead of saying 'he or she,' every time the host refers to God)

    • @LifeTrod
      @LifeTrod 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sukhraj Mann thanks for the reply. Personally, I don't see this as innocent, because it influences the mind towards a particular conclusion. Even the choice of using a "he" descriptor as opposed to a "she" lends to social influences which also impresses upon the mind a conclusion about a possibility of a God concept.

    • @sukhiandsylvia
      @sukhiandsylvia 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, in SGGS ji all beings (male and female) are brides to God, as the soul wants to reconnect to the beloved Bridegroom, who is God. So, if we are all brides, then it makes sense to say God is "He" even if God has no sex.

    • @LifeTrod
      @LifeTrod 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sikh Awareness Council Hamilton thank you for your reply. My contention wasn't a matter of pitting the likelihood of a God being male or female in respects to most religions. Rather, I was pointing to the common instinct of projecting this reality to an idea of an ethereal one, thus within that creation, one constructs a realm which is a mirror to this. Stemming from the root of an Ego, God, to then branch to the he's, she's, connect, disconnect, love, hate, right, wrong, etc.

    Dear Jagraj, I would recommend you read Richard Dawkin's 'The God Delusion'. The arguments you are using to persuade atheists are well documented and known to them. That is not the reason most are atheist. Atheism is like slowly waking up from a dream or delusion into seeing clearly for the first time. There will some delusional beliefs that you have to support a belief in what you think God is. Knowledge will help you see how delusional some of these beliefs are.

    • @tweaker5112
      @tweaker5112 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      god is the total energy, all energy has some amount of consciousness, let humans have a consciousness value of 1 for example, a monkey may have 0.8, an atom may have 0.000000000001, and god is the entirety of energy itself so it has an infinite consciousness value. Think about how much smarter and aware of our reality we are compared to dogs, that is the same way god is to us but in billions and trillions of greater magnitude. energy cant be created or destroyed, only change form, just like the way god is described, everything is energy so god is technically everywhere.Your consciousness is the energy created from the small amount of neural activity and electrical signals in your brain, which is nothing compared to the massive energy throughout our universe, god, so we cant even begin to understand god.

    • @TheTurbanatore
      @TheTurbanatore 7 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      No, Sikhi is NOT a "spin off" of Islam or any religion. Sikhi is simply just the truth. There is an aspect of the same truth in many religions, but for us Sikhi is the complete truth.
      We believe that there are only two basics things that anyone regardless of there religion needs to do in order to find salvation. Those two things are Seva (selfless service) and Simran (meditation or remembering God).

      It isn't a "spin off" religion in any way or form. There is only one truth which is consistent throughout the majority of religions; there is only one creator. The creator has several different names e.g Waheguru, Allah, God, etc...
      From my understanding, Sikhism is like university standard mathematics and other religions are college standard, high school standard, etc... They all share truths e.g the value of PI will be commonly shared.
      This doesn't mean you have to convert to reach God. The Gurus taught other followers of different faiths what type of person to be e.g Muslims were told to be good Muslims, say names of Allah, etc...

      Meditation is remembrance and connecting to the Primal Force/The Ultimate One which many of us call God. But the Sikh concept of God is totally different to that of Islam. Yes just like the Abrahamic religions Sikhi speaks of the One God but its not a being far far away from us or a man up in the clouds. Vahiguru is everywhere.
