Dear God... it's not even 0300 and i'm sitting here, getting clawed by a cat, and watching a sugar-fueled crazy man justify his addiction in the name of Art! Which fleetingly makes me wonder whether i could do similar by reinventing myself as a 'Cereal-killer'.... breathe with me... the urge has passed. Count on me for a Zine purchase: i like things that i can just stare at while Life's Big Question - 'Why?' - loops in my head (i seriously do, and it's a question that is persistently provoked in photography - that of others, but especially my own). I'm glad you've elected not to jump on the monetize bandwagon - it's hard to maintain one's dignity as a self-selected bottom-feeder fighting for scraps, and it's a slippery-slope that all too often seems to demand compromises that end up undermining the struggle to not be just another cog. Given your choice for primary projects for this year, i'm confident your sugar intake will be sufficient to maintain your energy levels. Great to see ya Colton... always look forward to your left-field productions. The cat's finally gone back to sleep and i think i may as well do likewise. Cheers from NZ.

3am is definitely a perfect time to watch a sugar junkie be unhinged on the internet! 🤣Hopefully that gave you something to ponder in your dreams! (or nightmares). Do you have any projects your focused on this year? Or this month?

@@ColtonMatocha Image by image, i'm on a steep learning curve. My 'project' is to keep the pressure on and to get out with the camera every day to get one image that has 'something'. At some stage i may decide that i'm at a point that justifies getting some editing software and putting the time into the odd image. I may also decide that i'm at a point where a step up in camera resolution and functionality (but not system or lenses) would be an enabler and not just vanity. I don't know where 'There' is, but it's a little closer than it was 18 months ago when i rebooted this long-neglected passion. I also spend a lot of time thinking about the purpose and, especially, the ethics and consequences of photography - i need clarity in this to inform both what to shoot and how to represent it. Cheers.

@@luzr6613 That is great! Periodically, I've put the pressure on to shoot every day and I've always found that to be a challenging yet rewarding experience. It's a good way to get sharp and keep yourself well acquainted with the abilities of your camera! Whenever I get a new camera. I always shoot as much as possible to become one with the camera. No joke. I have to be able to operate that thing in my sleep!
