Been subscribed for a couple of months now. Really appreciate the down to earth style. Good stuff. Especially like your comments on the type of water or structure you are looking for. Thanks
Awesome tackle rundown thanks for all the info. I have looked for those bigger floats in several stores around here and could only find them built into a popping cork premade rig.
Setting up a new to me boat right now. The flat bottom jon wasn't cooperating with my old bones. Been doing some crappie fishing also. That's a ton of fun when you find them.
My niece and nephew live with us now. When they saw your comment about using my comment in the video, they said "Uncle Tony, you know somebody famous". Gotta love kids.
Thanks for the all the fishing information on the equipment great video as always and that was a hell of a catfish thank you be safe on the water tell Landon we said hey
I hardly ever fish cats....but I like watching a fisherman that has his own methods and fish down pat. Any old fisherman can see you have put your work in.
Great video as always... You have become my favorite... Also thanks for the recommendation awhile back on the Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv. I got it in over the weekend and my neighbor is installing it while he is servicing my boat. Looking forward to getting started this season.
Agree with the TWC rods, I love em, again the reel seat sold me first the rest of the rod is a bounus. all are 7.5 foot sweet spot. Im partial the the mono as the braid can cut the heck out of catfish. No good when you want to release.
Good information, now I know what float to use in the shallow river with debris on the bottom that I fish about 3hr drive straight north from the ohio.
Man I love watching your videos. Really do. Side note-I'm always impressed at how you land them without getting tangled up in the other 5 lines off the back lol. That's something I haven't quite mastered yet. But to be fair my local river is super skinny compared to the Ohio.
Great job Hagen, I run some of the TWCs myself, great rods, I’d like to check those 8/0s out, I use the 9s and a different hook that’s about the size of those 8s, Landon is an awesome video man, thanks for sharing!!!
Haven’t had a chance to test the Browning Six Rivers reel yet? Love the 8 I have. Great video as usual and I’m thinking Landon is not too many moons from landing the State Record!! (Trooper Joe)
@@hagengrubbsfishing thanks Hagen, so I'm hanging in there with the best. I use the no knot snell on hooks, improved clinch on my leader to swivel and polymar from main to swivel. Gives me some confidence knowing what you do. Thanks man!!
Sorry for the late response, here is a link of where I get it. I get the biggest size available for the catfish rods. Thank you for watching. Most of the rods I have are old and the cork was in bad shape. I just like the look and feel and it is a very cheap and easy way to make a rod look new again. Thank you for watching
Could you tell me more about the shrink wrap you use on rod handles? I searched Amazon and could not find anything that looks like it would work. Help ???

Haden I know current dictates how much weight but if you had to pick 3 weight sizes and that was all you could fish for an entire season anchored drifted and dragon what would they be
If I’m in 1mph+ current I rarely ever use a float. Instead I use a 3 way rig to suspend the bait and I always have a couple directly on the bottom. If the current is to slow to make the 3-way work properly I add a small float. Thanks for watching.
Humminbird, garmin and lowrance all make great products. I’m really starting to like the garmin units but they all have there ups and downs. The garmin uhd93sv is a step above mine and that’s what I would buy if I was in the market right now. Thanks for watching
I watch you a lot . I love to fish but I don’t know much about poles . I’m wanting a good set up to be able to catch a 50lb fish. Any suggestions on bass pro rods and reels.?
For a budget setup I would go with a ugly stick catfish rod and a catmaxx reel. I believe the combo would be around 120$ Bass pro also has the st. Croix mojo cat rods, they are a very high end sensitive rod but are very expensive, you could pair that rod up with a Abu6500 and it would be an amazing setup but would be around 300$ Thank you for watching
Great video was wondering what reels you used. I have kastking rovers in 40 and a 70 the 70 holds a bunch of 30 lbs mono. I gotta get some of them blue fishin sticks you got I like'em
Will regular floats work to float up big pieces of skipjack and i enjoy all your videos and i appreciate you for accepting my friend request on Facebook can't wait to see your next video
Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

I feel the same way about Braid vs Mono. I like each for their own reasons. Happy Fishing Hagen!
I'm not the only person who appreciates some nice color coordination!!
The monster rods are great for night fishing with black light. The green really lights up.
I want to see Hagen and Landon Grubbs Tshirts
Hopefully soon, thanks for watching
Love any father son fishing video . Reminds me of me and my dad .

Very well done! The information and opinions are real! Thank you!
Good stuff buddy! I'm a TK fan myself. I haven't tried the 8/0 yet. I wasn't even thinking. I saw they had 9/0 in stock and loaded up 😆

When you go out catfishing how do you decide if you are going to anchor, drift suspend, drag or bump.
Another good one Hagan. What knots do you use primarily?
I use a snell knot on my hooks, a improved clinch on monofilament line and polymer on braided line. Thank you for watching.

Does the abu striper have a bait clicker
what hook have u started using since tacklingkats website closed down??
Great job! Where ya fishing what area
You should have a cold weather invitation to one of your viewers and fish for dinner lol
If you're anchor fishing, do you always use a float, or is there certain times you let your bait sit on the bottom?
If I’m in 1mph+ current I rarely ever use a float. Instead I use a 3 way rig to suspend the bait and I always have a couple directly on the bottom. If the current is to slow to make the 3-way work properly I add a small float. Thanks for watching.
