- Burgas is on the two main seaside cities and the fourth largest city in Bulgaria. Located on the south of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, Burgas is a favourite summer destination of Bulgarian and foreign tourists.

I once nursed a guy who came from Burgas. That was in 1971 and he was brought to the Walvis Bay State Hospital in Namibia after suffering a burst appendix on a tanker out at sea. He was very sick and after a few days was flown to Windhoek to the big hospital there for further treatment. He recovered, went home and sent me a thank you card which I still have! ♡

@@tmartins2956 Black Sea has much lower leves of salt, so we do have one of the most amazing beaches with an amazing water - something that the adriatic and the mediterran sea don't have.

The cause of the disgusting smell from Lake Vaya in Burgas has been revealed
January 21, 2024
Over the past week, institutions have received numerous reports of unpleasant odors emanating from Lake Vaya near Burgas. This provoked an inspection by environmental inspectors of the Burgas municipality.
During inspections, no local sources of pollution were identified. However, the presence of significant amounts of dead algae in various stages of decomposition was discovered. The reason for the large number of dead algae is a dry and hot summer season with consistently high temperatures, in many cases above average, experts say.
