Happiness is God's grace never failing because we find what's us happy and as we discover ourselves we gain enlightenment and thus define ourselves and fulfill our destiny.

I wish I had discovered the teachings of Stoicism 20 years ago - but all that matter is the present and how virtuously we use it

@@djkrptdnbI think most people already have been using stoicism. It's called being proactive instead of reactive.

If by success, you mean attainment of external goods, fame, or fortune. Then you've missed the entire point of the video: it is not what you achieve, but how you live that matters.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with achievement, as it should be noted that Seneca, Cato, and Marcus Aurelius were all very wealthy and influential men. But that isn't what made them Great men.

Yes live life on your own terms but most importantly live it with prioritizing responsibility to give life a purpose. Service and sacrifice bring true longer lasting happiness that entertainment and small bursts of happiness will never bring.

Marcus Aurelius observed the Biblically revealed fact that all people love themselves supremely, but he also observed the apparently contradictory fact that, while loving ourselves supremely, we value the opinions of others about ourselves higher. The answer is simple.
Other people's opinions of you have a lot to do with what they will do for you. Your survival depends on various actions made by other people, hence the value of their opinion is created by logistics, and a grumbling tummy.

"Zeno wandered into a bookshop..." Really? What did a bookshop look like in Zeno's day (c. 490 - 430 B.C.)?

Lots of good stuff here but I have to disagree with the claim that positive thinking leads to passivity, in fact recent studies have shown the opposite, that positive reinforcement is a much stronger motivation for positive change then negative or fear based motivations. It has been said what we focus on is what will manifest around us and with that I truly believe to much focus on the problem and on the negatives keeps us from finding the solutions. The process of this premeditation of evils is something i see happening all around me today and something i have experienced in my life and have never saw any good come from it. Instead i have saw it cause extreme unnecessary stress and then when the time comes that thing we where worried about is not even the problem w ended up facing and all that worrying was for nothing.

You might want to revisit this video and edit out around 3 minutes where you are referring to video games as a waste of time. We all know you can make millions upon millions of dollars playing video games. Ask shroud, Ninja, Tim the tatman if playing video games was a waste of their time.

Watching this video was not a good use of time. The content is mediocre and there were SIX commercials. In addition, am I the only one to notice that Stoicism seems to appeal almost exclusively to males. I would love to know how many of them are single. Stoicism comes across as a self-absorbed life philosophy...prove me wrong.
