When he said "You're turning into an elephant", I just about died laughing. But by the end, I was near tears. This is such a unique short, and I loved it!
Magnifico!
AHH yes, the elephant in the room; that which is so obvious to everyone else but ourselves...he hated his job, hated his friend, had no love in his life because he was a coward and "felt" like he was stuck. He did nothing to change his life so he became an elephant in a zoo. I can relate. Why is it so hard to be courageous and follow our truest path? We must understand that the means is the end. We have to have courage to change our lives and be who we want to be in the now, not later.
Buen trabajo. Lo que más me llamó la atención fué el hecho de ser una enfermidad a curar el problema del hombre, pero en realidad ya era un enfermo antes que le pasase todo eso. Me encantó la conexión del final. Saludos desde Brasil
The music used , and the eye browns they gave the costume brought me to tears .. thankfully that was tranquilizer at the end :) or i would have lost it
It is so depressing in some part that I felt anxious and uncomfortable for all the experience he was going through turning into a elephant. happy has just ended. I was about to cry. Metaphorically I have no idea what it meant, but I’m 100% sure that’s not good.
Wow! From the opening shot on I thought: "Wow, this looks like real film". Checked the end credits: yep: it is! It's also a wonderful short film. Please keep rolling real film!
This is my perception doesn't have to be right or wrong... At the beginning he's like you need a job, friends and family to be happy he says that he doesn't have that but when he's an elephant he says he lost that all, he didn't realise it was on a plate ready for him and embrace it sooo that's why he lost it ... Not because he turned into an elephant because that's just crazy hahahaha and many people treat him like a person lol but a lost person with no job family or friends which makes him feel like an elephant aah idk it was great though! Helped me with mi espanol tambien!
This was beautiful and emotional. However, I'm trying to figure out if there is any symbolic reasoning behind his metamorphosis into an elephant. Anyone have any answers?
The two things that come to mind are that an elephant never forgets, and the man clearly hasn't forgotten his family even though he changed into an animal. The other reason might be that an elephant is extremely intelligent, which the man clearly was before and after his transformation. This seems to be symbolic of a positive mental change that he went through that no one appreciated.
I'm not sure about the other answer. yes, it could be symbolic of that, but then I'm also almost 100% certain that this film was greatly influenced by Kafka's "the metamorphosis" in which the main character turns into a massive insect without explanation. in that instance it was unexplained and, i think, not symbolic but just a method of showing how the world treats somebody who is a complete outcast. I think the maker of this film is doing the same
Loved it. I'm showing it to my middle-school film class tomorrow. How would you describe the themes in this film? Well, I like what some viewers said below: "That his son still loved him, even though he couldn't be the man he wanted to be." and "He claims that he didn't have what he needed to be happy - job, friends, family" but by losing it all, he realizes that the potential for happiness was there all along, he just needed to seize it." and "A positive mental change that no one appreciated." How about this: his transformation into a monster symbolizes his mid-life crisis and the real-life crisis he is going through - losing his connection to family, and his lack of any love and meaning in life. Then he really does lose his family to Sergio. He feels like a monster, and freak who cannot connect with anyone. But then, he does connect with his young son, without hardly trying, just by being himself. He loses it all, but somehow gains the love of his innocent son... from there, I'm not sure where to go next... but I'm still ruminating on it.

My eyes watered a little bit watching this....just a little lol. Dad and son relationship was heartbreaking ;p
At least he's changed back to normal in the end right?
+Matthew Stacy he didn't that was his son
Or he fully shape shifted to an elephant and now he's at the zoo and his son visited him :)
He didn't shape shift, it's just that he is on drugs.
Nir Hason Don't like to
I was an elephant and my son loved me. What could be better than that?
Nothing!

This film kinda wake me up, i had never realised that all a father wanted in return was actually love by his family members.
·°¡¿¡·´ 6:35 Kunda kintéh ! Aháhhhhh !!! ·
I've never been so emotional over an elephant :(
I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried because of this short film.
Because Elephants never forget :"(

Jordi Brau y Constantino Romero... Impresionante. Sin desmerecer el trabajo de los demás. Muy bonito, de verdad.
The closest thing we'll ever get to a Babar live action film.
That's one hell of a mid-life crisis to experience. What a strange and darkly humorous but ultimately very moving Spanish short film.
Fantastic Mr fox soundtrack
I didn't think I would cry but I'm a mess right now. Great story and original for sure! I get it totally.
Man I cried hard with this one
This is fantastic! Really well done, and a phenomenal job on the make up and prosthetics.
whats the point of it ??non
No hay animal mas hermoso para mi que un Elefante.
Espero que mi hijo los ame como yo lo amare cuando nasca.
Esta película es como la metamorfosis de Kafka contada en primera persona.
Me gustó la camioneta cazadora de elefantes 😄
This short is just.....wow....deserves an Oscar
My girlfriend always says I am an Elephant. For my life history... this is the best movie I ever seen!
Are you an actual elephant?
The music used , and the eye browns they gave the costume brought me to tears .. thankfully that was tranquilizer at the end :) or i would have lost it
and they cut off the horns after placing it in the zoo.
I've came back to watch this film in every years. Now 5th time left.
Fantastic Mr. Kafka
I lost my shit when he looked in the mirror
I never knew an elephant would make me cry..
¡Simplemente espectacular!
Man how the hell do people come up with such stories, it's amazing
Damn you, Sergio!

"Don't be afraid of being different".

This was SO sad! Great Film!
This made no sense, but, somehow, it still managed to make perfect sense.
Such a unique story, thankfully it was only a tranquilizer! Excellent.

I like that they used some of the music from Fantastic Mr. Fox. Good stuff
Reminds me of the dog in the Daft Punk video for "Da Funk"
6:23 It hits hard that he just wanted a better life.

dadevi Damn my lack of proper sleep! I didn't think of that before posting. Thanks for the insight.

The moral of the story is dont be afraid if we different than to be normal.
The last line came in like a storm
this is a good film!
The Monster 💜
