From my own experience, growing up in NYC during my childhood and teenage years, I witnessed my parents, both professionals, working tirelessly to make ends meet. Life wasn't the same-we transitioned from owning a house in the Dominican Republic to renting an apartment in Manhattan, and we never had the same freedom and quality of life as we did back in the DR. Eventually, we decided to return to the DR, and to this day, I consider it the best decision my parents made. Sure, you can make money in the States, but it requires hard work and navigating a system that many immigrants find daunting. For most, coming to the States feels like a dream where they think they can make lots of money easily, only to face the harsh reality that it's not that simple.
It proves that propaganda is very powerful....enough to lure an entire family without a thorough analysis of reality! Good and informative video young lady!!
Our beautiful DR it's growing i have news . The Dominican Popular Bank (Banco Popular Dominicano) as a support for tourism announced in Fitur 2025 an investment this year of one and a half billion dollars 💲 that will create 26 thousand jobs in 15 hotel projects for a total of 7 thousand new rooms this year. All this will be done by just one Dominican bank, add the five billion foreign investment and the other banks.......
None of these will convince Dominicans to stop coming to the US. The need to see the Gs in their hands is what matters most to them. Once they face what you show in these videos then that’s where they stop and say “coño tanto que me lo dijeron”. I see these types of shit all the times.
Sis people have been saying it but no one wants to hear it. They tell you how ungrateful you are, and if you don’t like it why don’t you leave the US. I have been told a couple times by a family member that I hate the US, which is untrue. But levity here is a real problem. You see what happen with the tic Tom ban when people download that Chinese app, how shock and anger those American people were. Yea. Thanks for the video sis👍
I wish I could leave Canada but I was brought here as a kid so it’s hard for me to go back to my beloved Trinidad or Caribbean. I’m a find a way hopefully soon.
Last week I decided to make a soup for dinner. But I wanted a Dominican soup with salami Dominicano, can you believe that I expend almost $60 just to make a soup. This here is really crazy
My family moved to the US when I was nine years old. I’m extremely grateful and appreciative of all the US giving me, of course I also work and study very hard. I want the US to do great and continues to prosper. I’m super MAGA. However, I think I would probably done really well here in DR also because I think I’m not giving myself enough credit. We’re now retired in the DR and we’re loving it. Many of my relatives are moving back here! I moved back here for beautiful scenery, weather, to be truly free, get away from the culture divisions, the high cost of living, taxes and crime! We lived in Long Island for 29 years and we never got to know it because I worked 18 hours days, six days a week 😢. I no longer want to worry about any of the social or political issues. In the US, for example, when you drive, and things are extremely orderly, you better obey all the laws because you have the police and cameras watching your every move. Here in the DR, it’s madness, mayhem and an organized mess! However, people work it out amongst themselves, with exceptions of course. In addition, here in DR people don’t drive angry or mad. Price wise, it’s not very cheap to live here anymore, but it is still way better. My favorite thing about the DR, period, is God’s place in our society. I love that Dominicans say gracias a Dios, si Dios quiere, vállese con Dios. I also love that no matter how old or young you are tu pide la bendición, priceless.
I wish that you would have mentioned that the grinding process to make a living here in the US causes a lot of health problems for dominicans....we burn out and get more sick trying to make things work out....Ithere is also a lot of substance abuse and alcoholism brought about from the stressful life....I have not had a "real" vacation to relax for about 15 years....I hope to move to the DR before the year ends so that I can take a micro--vacation to juan dolio every friday....to sum it up, I was brought over when I was a child and I still have not adapted to this harsh environment here.....if you can make it in the USA your are battletested strong and you can live on Mars when that time comes
I came to USA as an young adult and am telling you more than one time I regret my decision, I always work very hard together with my husband to have a good place to live, we live in NYC and we moved because I couldn't be in the cold freezing weather anymore, now we ate in Florida where life is better but the same we have to work 7 days a week in order to keep our life. Is not easy. Here you make dollars but you pay in dollars too.
Jesus, I’m in Germany after living about five years in Spain where I didn’t really accomplish anything. I’m just getting a little bit better now because I took an 11 hours job. But I don’t think is even worthy. I have a modern languages degree and I could’ve been teaching in my home town that needs prepared language teachers, but I choose to stay in Europe after completing my master’s degree. I got engaged and stay here. After that I saw how my country it’s been growing and I can’t stop thinking, what if I would’ve gone back.
That's just the thing, life gets in the way and you're never able to make the big leap. I have an aunt who would love to come back to the motherland, but she has children and grandchildren in the USA now, and cannot just pack up and leave
The bitter truth is everywhere in the world: As long as you don´t inherit or win a fortune you have to work hard and smart to do economically well and live comfortably.
I don’t know where the heck that woman bought a carton of eggs for 16 dollars, I’ve been living in the USA for a very long time and I have never seen or even heard of anyone paying all that money for eggs. The amount of disinformation and misinformation is staggering nowadays. There are pros and cons of living in the United States versus the DR like in every aspect of life, I’m used to and I prefer NEW York even though I know it’s expensive, but the convenience are far greater than the DR. And I don’t want to get into the nitty gritty stuff because it might be offensive to some people.
16 dollar a dozen for eggs is pure BS. The most organic eggs can cost is about $10.00 buck. The average cost for a carton is approximately $2-4 bucks range.
Bird Flu 13 million egg laying hens died in December. The average price of a dozen eggs in the US is $4.19. Up 37% from last year. Here's your facts. No way you should have paid that much for eggs.
@ maybe they were golden eggs 😂. Ever since COVID the whole world has changed. Love your videos. I'm retired truck driver from north Dakota. I came here to get away from the cold mainly. Two complains i have is everyday no electricity and the other is garbage everywhere. I walk my neighborhood picking up trash only to find more the next day. I wish the locals would see I'm trying to make their neighborhood nice.
@bberg4745 omg it's great to have you here, and thank you for making our streets cleaner. It's a bummer some people don't understand the peace and joy a clean street brings... About the electricity, that's easily solved with alternative energy. In my house we have an inverter unit, but we hardly use it because fortunately, our electricity doesn't go out that much
@ yes after today I’ve realized I need a inverter. One last thing, I seen a guy waring an old dirty Presidente Beer cap. I’d love to buy some to take back to the states as a souvenir gifts. Do you know where I would find any?
Yes we would love to live in the Dominican Republic but not to work there definitely not they pay low wages and you have to work like a dog …if you have a income from the USA or a internet business sure DR is the place to live…
USA us not better than Dom Rep and vice versa... They are just different countries with different weather and quality of lives... Of course Dom Rep is a heaven... But if you don't have money or don't earn well, you are screwed. USA is a heaven as well.. With exactly the same situation.. No money.. You're screwed. I love you for keeping it all the way official.. This May I’m coming to the DR 🇩🇴 for the first time.. I can’t wait 🫶🏾
Yayyyyy I hope you enjoy your stay!!!!
@ thank you my Dear !

O my goodness you have a VERY similar story to mine! Thanks so much for sharing, I agree 💯%

2003 I was told I had 5 years life expectancy , 2007 I end up back home, 2025 still here with the same illness😎
Wow, thank God you're still with us! 🙌

Yep, some people only understand by making their own mistakes

Thanks for your input! So true, some people just don't get it

@Star-jg4bn where there's a will, there's a way!! Start praying and working towards your goal! You can do it!
Iría allí pero no creo que pueda vivir con 800 dólares al mes.
I would go there but I don't think I can live on 800 dollars a month
Everything is so expensive now days. The price of eggs are supposed to increase as well. The cost of living here in the United States it's insane.
Last week I decided to make a soup for dinner. But I wanted a Dominican soup with salami Dominicano, can you believe that I expend almost $60 just to make a soup. This here is really crazy

Yess! Small things like asking for family members blessings (besar la mano) is so WONDERFUL to me!

I truly hope you can come to DR soon and finally relax!

People will be angry but it’s the truth. I attest

It's true, the life is tough, doesn't matter what you doing for leaving 😢😢😢

I’m currently in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 don’t want to go back to the United States
Just wondering how you have your accent. Did you live in the US?
Yes I did!
@@PurelyWalking oh awesome how long did you live there for and where if you don’t mind

La seguridad de que no te roben hace que muchos se vallan del Caribe.
Tengo familia en USA que han sido estafados y robados sus documentos identidad, etc etc. Cosas malas pasan en todos lados.

Call 911 In the Dominican Republic.
I've actually called here in Santo Domingo and received an ambulance in minutes!
But how do you know this will be always, things change, Government changes as well. Look what is going on in Cotui, what about these people.

I guess it comes down to oportunities. Having no money is awful, anywhere in the World.
