For anyone still watching stuff like this, let quickly break down why either of these methods does not work as advertised.
Background: I'm a technical CS undergrad who got into android modding at the age of 13, over the years I've worked with over 30 different phone models from many different generations, starting with Android versions as early as 2.3.1 (Gingerbread) or 4.0.4(Ice Cream Sandwich)
Method 1:
Using any adb commands with the phone in the mentioned state would require USB debugging to be active and your computer to be authorized, which is highly unlikely for the average phone. The "no data loss" claim is also BS, as the command that was used would try to remove the /data partition (where all user data like apps, system configuration etc ist stored), the /system partition (where the actual OS would be) and a gesture.key file located in the root of the FS. Obviously, if this command were to be successfully executed, it would essentially wipe your phone completely, although in normal operation with usb debugging turned on, I wouldn't count on that happening. What was supposed to be shown was to delete the /data/system/gesture.key file, the command that was shown here was simply typed in wrong.
HOWEVER: this operation would most definitely only work on rooted devices. Given that even the incorrectly typed command in the video showed the FS to be mounted read-only, we can safely assume that the device in the video was not rooted and even if the command had been entered in the correct way, this would have never worked.
Method 2:
Obviously, this just wipes the /data partition and resets the phone to factory defaults. It is in no way a dedicated "lock screen remover", as advertised in the software, the lockscreen being gone is merely a side effect. For anyone needing to complete this procedure, there are tons of detailed tutorials on the internet on how to access your recovery and factory reset your phone.
Summary:
As of my current knowledge, bypassing a non-rooted Android phone's lock screen without data loss would require brute-forcing the passcode/pin/pattern or using the biometrics as an attack vector, which has been shown to be possible under forensic conditons. However, for the average end user, none of these options seem too reasonable, so there are some other things you could do, maybe also some preventive steps to ensure you got access to your data even after forgetting your security details:
1. Most phones will prompt you for password recovery after a few failed attempts. Just use your Google account to reset it and you're good to go. If your phone, for any reason, does not provide you with that option, you can change your lockscreen from Google's "My devices" page, the same one you'd use to track your smarthphone. Of course, this would require you to have access to your account on a different device, so make sure you don't create any authentication loops in the first place and always have independent security factors (even the printed out backup codes as a last resort) in case you get stuck on 2FA auth on several backup accounts.
2. Recovery mode could probably grant you access to your /data partition via ADB, letting you copy your files and the app files in the Android folder, however, seeing as phone manufacturers are getting more and more restrictive concering the features of the stock recoveries in modern phones, this might not always be the case. I will disregard any procedures using fastboot (to temporarily boot a recovery image to pull stuff off via adb) as in most cases, the bootloader will be locked and will either be prohibited from being unlocked by a kernel variable or, in case you unlock your bootloader, will cause your files to be deleted anyway.
Just leaving this here for any lost souls running into problems with their phones and to counter misinformation spread on this platform.

Are all the "tech wizards" on TH-cam born with rocks for brains? They title their video - "without reset", then proceed to showcase methods which hard reset. Still others title their video "bypass lockscreen", and then ask you to go into the phone and turn on USB debugging.

I don't think he was born with rocks for brains. He's got like 172k views on one video explaining to most us how to do something we already know to do. We are the ones with the rocks for brains, if anything, we watched the video knowing damn well from the beginning he was not going to be able to by pass the security lock without having to wipe and factory reset the phone but hey wishful thinking never hurt anyone lol 😅😅😮😮😂😊
That's why they title their videos that way. So people will click on it and now they have thousands of views, yet helped nobody. They get recognized by TH-cam depending on how many views they have. I think negative reviews will counteract the views though. Or maybe report their post for being misleading. I don't know about you all but I'm sick and tired of misrepresented videos.
You can turn on debug mode from the lock screen by pulling up the boot menu using the right combination of volume and power button presses

The title says without resetting! Droid kit you Have to reset. You don’t need to buy anything to do hard reset. I can wipe all my shit on my own. And set up as new phone. Don’t need droid kit for that.

None of these methods works.! The phone has to have USB Debugging ON and of course if you attach it in your PC you have to have access to your log screen but if it is locked then you can do NOTHING.!!! So every method works only if you have previously unlocked the phone..somehow ....!!!

Apparently if you have find my device feature on you can use that. Just find your device and then lock the screen again from there. Then you can unlock it with the new PIN. Haven't tried it but thats what I was told. Seems to me that people would already know this if it worked or you have to put in the old PIN to relock with a new one. Still screwed if thats the case. Ugh!

Hey, It's " enable USB debugging" not CMD. If you were an Android user, you must enable it before, only if you didn't connect your phone to Any Pc app.
neither way worked, i tried the command prompt line one and it just gave me an error saying sometihng simallar to "adp is not a valid command" and the problem with the software one is that i dont want to delete my data.
You need to download adb then open a command prompt in the folder type adb …

In the first method shown within the video, your command prompt ends with "No such file or directory." This is a clear indication that the command failed and nothing happened. Method 1 does not work as it is not a legitimate file path.
Method 2: Your "screen unlocker" specifically states it "WILL ERASE DATA", which can be seen about half an inch below your mouse pointer. This then defeats the point you made, 2 seconds prior, that you can KEEP your data with that method.
TLDR; This entire video is BS and a waste of EVERYONE'S time

@@iMobieInc We all have forgotten our 4 digit PIN code to open our phones. They are locked and we can't unlock them without doing a hard reset. We want to save the info on our phones so a hard reset doesn't help us.
