I have this one and I'm learning how to use it as of today. I was also instructed to watch your video as it is informative. The XL is an intimidating device but it is well worth it. Thank you for the reassurance. ❤
I'm so happy to hear our video was helpful to you! We recommend you try to keep after it for at least 15 minutes per day. You'll have it down in no time. Best of luck with your new CloverBook Pro XL!!
We've tested in K-12 classrooms (20-30') with success. For very large lecture halls and auditoriums, we'd recommend a dedicated distance camera, like the new CoaSt. CoaSt plugs into your PC or iPad and gives you a 10x optical zoom (FYI - "optical zoom" means you zoom with no loss of image quality). With CoaSt, you can quite easily view text at a distance that is too small even for a person with perfect vision to see. CoaSt will be released in the USA in April 2024. Check the Irie-AT website for more information, www.irie-at.com.
@@IrieAT Hmm, interesting i am planning to replace my HumanWare connect 12 with this magnifier. However, the 25x optical zoom on that machine enabled me to sit in the very back of large lecture halls. That made that machine very versatile. The larger work area and the adjustable screen angle might be worth sitting at front though😅. Thank you for informing me about the upcoming dedicated distance camera.
@@cem_kaya The high resolution of the CloverBook Pro XL distance camera and screen do a lot to make up for the digital-only zoom. You may find you are able to sit back further than you think.
So...an out-of-the-box suggestion... The Connect 12 distance camera is an off-the-shelf camera. It'd be clunky, but you could still use that Sony camera, connected through a laptop or something. CloverBook Pro XL will permit you to view your laptop/device; even split-screen, so you can view your magnified documents and computer/device simultaneously. Too much?
@@IrieAT i have a simpler idea, some high end phones directly support hdmi over type-c, these phones have x3-x5-x10 optical zoom plus a high resolution sensor. A couple of years ago i have designed a 3d printed jig to attach my phone to a laptop (there is also a way to make a phone work like a usb cam if debugging is turned on ). Maybe i can make some thing like that for this. Would me more compact. Thanks for the out of the box suggestion.
Yes you can view your iPhone on CloverBook Pro XL. You'll need a cable that connects to your iPhone; either Lightning or USB C, depending on the age of your phone. The port on the CloverBook Pro XL is HDMI Mini. There are many options online to purchase USB C to HDMI Mini and Lightning to HDMI Mini cables. Here is a video that shows how it all works to connect a computer, tablet or phone into the 12.5-inch model of the CloverBook Pro: th-cam.com/video/ksFK_5gpPz4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AycDEw8qPXTuIL7S
The idea is to have the power plug in very near the power button, so it is easy to find. You can also get a separate battery charger and additional battery, if the cord plugged in makes things awkward for you.
Hey Matt. We don't have a formal trade-in program established for CloverBook Pro XL, but we're always happy to help people who want to upgrade/update their equipment. Folks just need to reach out to Irie-AT or their local dealer and we can work things out. I see you've already emailed as well. Someone will respond back shortly to get the ball rolling. Thanks for watching!!

I wish the power connector were located at the base of the unit. It is awkward having it hang down like that.

Inevitably, those hinges will become loose. It would be nice if they could be tightened as necessary.
We've had a similar design (CloverBook Pro) since 2020 and not had any kind of regular problem with the hinges getting loose.
Wow!!! Love this XL model? How much would you give me for trading in my current CloverBook Pro with extra screen battery and charger.
