    Thank you so very much for such a great tutorial on how all the displays work. I just bought the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium and yes, I've been reading the manual, but seeing this visually really made it all make sense. You were the only one I found that did this. I am loving this car! I had the 2017 Ford Escape (it was also very good for the time I had it) and traded it in for a real "grownup" car.

    Great video. I have the exact car he is driving without the heads up display. Best car I ever has. It is quiet, handles great, unbelievable mileage. I am averaging between 42.5 and 44.4 mpg. One trip I reached 50.2 mpg. I can’t find a fault with it. My lease on my Toyota limited hybrid was coming to an end and I was just going to get another until my friend told me to dry a Ford. In the end I tried everything but kept coming back to the ford. One thing I want to bring to your attention is the electronics. I always had trouble with the phone on the Toyota. Everyone had problems hearing me. The exact problem with the 2020. Thr Ford has the latest technology and it is simple and flawless. I use the adaptive cruise control all the time. Give one a try. Good luck.

  • @howardklein2450
    @howardklein2450 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How would you recommend this exact model (2020) vs. a 2021 SEL (2.0L 4 cyl). ? Mostly driving 10-20 miles a day ~40-45 MPH, perhaps 5-6 times a year a few hours on freeways. Is it fine if the 2020 hybrid has been on lot for ~6 months?

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Howard, those are some different scenarios! The 2020 Titanium Hybrid will have leather seats, forward/reverse sensing, park assist and about 25% better fuel economy than the 2.0L SEL.
      There shouldn't be any issues with a vehicle that's only been there 6 months. You will have a base warranty on the vehicle - bumper to bumper is 3 year 36,000miles (60,000km) and 5 year 60,000 miles (100,000km) power train warranty

    I had a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium. It was a very nice SUV in many ways. It was peppy but got poor gas millage. The GPS left a lot to be desired and SYNC locked up a few times causing some grief. I nonetheless liked the Escape enough to buy a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid a few months ago. It is not as responsive as the 2016 but good enough. The gas mileage is superb. The Ford Co-pilot 360 is a step into the future. The nagging of the system to keep my hand on the steering wheel while using the Co-pilot is irritating. The GPS is still a disappointment. It got lost or took me to the wrong place a few times. It is not to be trusted. Waze is a much better navigation system. The problems with SYNC seem to have been addressed. The Active Park Assist works sort of. It reminds me of watching a 16 year old trying to parallel park. They get there but it takes a while. The Escape plays this odd tune when you are backing up. All things considered it is a step in the future. The 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid is not perfect but I'd buy it again if I had to do it over.

      Thanks so much for the real world review!! I love it when current Escape owners can compare newer models. The reminder to keep your hands on the wheel got me the first time I saw it as well.. self driving is coming soon to the world of Ford! Haha you are SPOT on with the Park Assist.. that's such a great description. Super useful feature if you have issues parallel parking though!

    • @CarsWithSteve

      1. Plug-in is more expensive (about 10-15% more)

      It’s interesting the sound / noise scenario, question being noted here, as the Toyota Venza hybrid ( which was the other vehicle I was interested in before purchasing the 2020 Escape Hybrid Titanium) A lot of people were complaining of the same thing/ road noise…I am suspicious of the Bridgestone Eucopia tires that come with both these vehicles. Many of the Venza owners stated they were extremely noisy ( higher weight for rolling resistance) and went to different tires ( Crosstreks) and found it made a huge difference. Have you tested the Toyota Venza hybrid, Steve and or heard of these Bridgestones being noisier than norm? My tires now have 28,000 km on them and they were / are at about 5 to 6 MM left tread west from 10 to 11 mm/new. So half+ the useful life in three / four years isn’t bad but unsure if they were changed out once already as I bought it with 26,000 km

    A couple friends with us got one few weeks ago. It has been to the dealer 4 times already due to a knock that the6 cant fix. Not
    happy with the purchase!

      Hmm that's odd. Sounds like your friends may have received one of the few that rolls off the line with a defect. Luckily there's the Basic and Powertrain warranty that Ford offers on new vehicles. If the existing dealership can't seem to fix the issue I'd recommend taking it to another dealer to try and figure out!

      @@delreytamayo8393 Absolutely! These should be hitting showrooms in the next month or two and will post a video when I have access to one. There aren't many changes to the 2021 model - there are some new appearance packages and features have changed on trim levels

      Try going through the cluster screen to Settings --> Display Setup and deselect "Show Power Gauge"

    Want it but going to pass because of the Info screen . That would make me crazy and be a distraction . Buttons and knobs or no sale .

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To have just the buttons and knobs you'd have to look at the Escape 'S' trim level. Hybrids require a bit more technology which is where these screens to support the tech come into play

      I just purchased a 2020 escape titanium from Montreal Canada and drove it back to you near Winnipeg Manitoba. I’ve been very pleased with the vehicle and great mileage. What can you tell me about the clanging/ rattling sound made only in reverse from rear passenger. Is it a warning sound from Ford for pedestrians in area when reversing?
      It was a great review on the attributes of the 2020 Hybrid Titanium and did make it easier to find/ correct and use the great features that the vehicle comes with👍 Thanks Steve

      Bit of a drive there, how did you find it? The hybrid would have a sound when reversing but it shouldn't be a rattle - check out this video with the volume up. Is that what you're hearing? th-cam.com/video/BXKx28gfyyo/w-d-xo.html

      I found the vehicle online at a Ford dealership in Montreal. I got there one day after they just had that 40 cm of snow and in Winnipeg on the way home was a brutal storm as well. Coming out of Montreal was a nightmare I left at 4:30 PM in the afternoon I didn’t get to the outskirts of Montreal till 7:45.😡 I drove until about 3 o’clock in the morning just south of Sudbury.. I had to go to Sault Ste. Marie as I’d found online some Blizzak, almost brand new tires, for a steal of a deal.$300.. just got installed last week in Wpg. Drove from north of Sault Ste. Marie all the way home to just east of Winnipeg but as mentioned from the Ontario border to Winnipeg, it was a horrible storm with 70 K winds and blowing snow couldn’t see 15 feet in front of you. Total drive is around 2400 km and I got some pretty amazing mileage, even though it was quite hilly up and down but with the hybrid, with regenerative braking, it got great mileage 6.4 l/ 100 km or about 44 mpg ish..imperial mpg.
      I’m finding now and of course are -34 Celsius, and with windchill -45 we had for about four days here mileage dropped considerably (28-32 mpg) and noticing also with the winter tires on fuel economy has dropped as well. It’s only -2 Celsius here today so things are looking up weather wise but literally just got the winters put on and I’m driving through sloppy conditions instead of snow ha ha oh well. How’s the Toronto area looking,?? I use to live in Kitchener and the ice and salt was the only contentious issues in the Winter mths around there.

      That was Dec. 6-8th 2023 and actually the video I have of my drive was getting 6.2 litres per 100 and it was quite hilly from Ottawa until the prairies.
