In my neighborhood a 3 year old kid was speaking only English..as his parents taught or brought him up like that. It's good that the kid speak fluent English but first he must be taught to learn thier own dialect at home. English can be learn later on at schools but that's not the case for learning our own dialect✌️

I'm so much touched by this video being in a community where there' are varieties of dialects or languages spoken among one tribe. And 99% of today's youngsters doesn't know what is mother tongue or common language. I'm talking about my tribe (konyak), we are unity in diversity but when we look into our mother tongue, it is endangered 😭
So much love ❤....🤗🤗😁being Konyak we face this challenge. We konyaks are so vast,we have 168 villages and counting,each village speaking different dialects except for some areas with some similarities in their dialects. This compels us to learn one common mother tongue which is very complex for this generation...😢
Since my bf is konyak, I'm very very interested in his culture. However i have no idea about the marriage rules and regulations and i wonder if it is possible for a konyak guy to marry a girl from totally different tribe outside Nagaland? Right now i don't want to bombard him with marriage questions cuz he's going through lots. So please kindly help🙏

people won't understand how difficult life is for those who can't speak their mother's tongue fluently. we can't even show our face to relatives and elders out of shame. and we don't want to speak to the elderlies in Nagamese as its disrespectful.. we sometimes hide ourselves , pretend to be asleep or get out of the house whenever guests arrive... in some people's cases, even if they want to learn , they have family problems/grudges/bad relationships etc which stops them. but one thing I want to say in my opinion only , is that Language Has divided us nagas . so many tribes but every tribe are too proud of themselves and look at others differently especially the older generations. Language Has Divided us all

What abt the perspective from the person that can't speak their own dialect.... the problems that they had to face for not being able to speak their own dialect and constant mock by people..... If it is all abt preserving ones culture than i dont think ones culture should only be judge by ones ability to speak their own dialect.. and it's not fair to judge 5% people ....... Rather educate the rest who can speak their own dialect as I believe there is so much change in ones culture but giving it a name of collabs and going along with the society is a greater problem..........if one has to preserve than why not implement the dress code the foremost thing in every tribe and leave behind all the Western wear But nobody will agree by account of giving a reason of developing and growing along with modernisation But all what we focused is the few sections of people TO TARGET. it is what NAGAS are known BETTER for in EACH and every FIELD............... BUT NOT OFFENDED FROM THIS VIDEO IT IS INFORMATIVE........
