- Solar has shown several times before she supports the Queer community, just like the other 3 members of Mamamoo, and she always brought awareness about other social issues, like Female Genital Mutilation. And now she does it again with Colors, and this is why I love this woman so much, she's never afraid to speak up on what she believes, even if that goes against the trends or if can even give her a lot of hate. Knowing how conservative South Korea is, a big artists like Solar releasing a song like Colors is a huge statement.
Can't actually believe there are some people attacking her when she and the other Mamamoo members have been some of the K-Pop artists that have shown the most support for the Queer community.

Get over the blackface thing already. They apologized and have never done it again. We need to ACCEPT and UNDERSTAND that other countries in the WORLD are not like the U S. Our history is not their history, they are not required to learn it. Every country has their own story, why would they be aware of how sensitive a thing it is in the U S? They were not aware and when they were told they apologized and it has never happened again. If they continued on it would be something to harp on.

I would like to mention as someone who likes dance and dance history that style of dance, vouge, has extremely strong connections to the queer community. It originated in queer clubs and evolved over the years into 3 sub catagories vouge, nouveau vouge, and femme vouge. The chorus was sort of a combo vouge/nouveau vouge, but the drops are from femme. Femme vouge is very very popular with drag queens. Whaccking has similar origens but from a different city.
I love seeing these styles gain more traction but its important to remember the origens of these dance styles as dance is and has always been a form of self expression and new styles develop in different cultural contexts with different emphasis due to many factors like music type, community, culture, whats 'attractive', how the style devolps, etc.
Also note if you are a vouge dancer please correct me if im wrong i am more interested in other styles but i didn't see anyone mention this and i think its important to share.
No you're rught, love ran has mixed old and new style of Voguing and as you said femme Voguing is also present. I didn't know abt these things until i read it on X with all ballroom dancers explaining it. It's nice we got to know abt abt a diff art style.

Yeah, not JUST queer clubs. BLACK and Latine queer clubs. Voguing is created in response to racism in the general queer community basically, it’s why it’s known as Harlem Ballroom culture

This is what a true idol should do when they've got real talent. They're not just some performer on stage, but an artist behind the scenes too. They do whatever they want to do, say whatever's on their mind, and sing whatever they want.
Hers is definitely a first on this genre. I have been a huge fan of vogue and ballroom vogue for years and it surprised me to see this genre in the kpop scene. Solar really shattered the glass ceilings. Very well done.

Been following Mamamoo since debut, and I've always beeen a Solar Simp.
I never felt that she's trying to "represent" the LGBTQ+ community.
I just feel like that is her squad. Those are her people, and they were never any different than any other group that serves as backup dancers to other idols.
