I’ve heard many many live versions of LMF. but this one, from the Aquarius Theater in LA is bar none the best. I got it on CD in the late 90s when they released “Live at the Aquarius” on CD. Best live album of all time.
I really dig the version of lmf with the poetry section in the middle of the song which starts with the lines "IT WAS THE GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE, ALTHOUGH I HAD STILL NOT HAD FOUND A WIFE I HAD MY FRIEND'S BESIDE ME" or something like that.

Way back when, I had an album collection that rivaled any collection. My pops was a DJ and he brought me home many classics. He grew up in an era which was the start of Rock. His favorite was Elvis Presley. But then he had my sister and I. So besides his regular work his side job of being a DJ gave him the opportunity to come in contact with so many great artists. That’s how I was able to obtain albums the general public might not have been privy too. Early American top 40 with Casey Kasem box sets in an all white box. When we moved from Michigan to Florida the movers stole all my albums. They ended up stealing my guitar as well. I was devastated and still am some 40 plus years later. I had original master recordings of The Doors , Elvis, LED Zeppelin, The Beatles, and so many more. My dad had just started a tough job and couldn’t pursue any claims against the moving company. I always thought he did that job at to keep me from becoming too wild looking back. I tell you this, I miss that collection to this day! Great work as usual!
Absolutely great!!! Both that live version of "Light my fire" and the composition of photos and videos. And again bits and pieces of video sequences one hasn`t seen before... No question this is the tightest live version of LMF... and by far, Densmore's best. But not sure it's the best. I tend to favor versions like Isle of Wight where Robbie improvs much more. Listen closely and you'll hear him noodling into Coltrane ("My Favorite Things") and others in his solos. That said, when you match this audio with this video... tops! Thank again, brother.

At the nine minute mark, I wondered why there were so many African-American music fans assisting the Doors, then I realised they were security. Had no idea the divide was so strong, but I suppose this is the late 60's.
It was in Philly and just a few daze after MLK was brutally assassinated. Jim dealt with all races pretty good being a Navy Brat, and of course we all know his friend and body guard was African American.

Saw the Doors, back in 77', at Cobo Hall, Detroit, with the Kinks. Strange concert, as I recall, with Ray on lead vocals..
