10:35 Virgin means less processing (refining). Cold pressed from olive to jar. Flavor can vary from company to company, region to region and the cold pressing. The extra virgin usually is the best of the best olives are chosen from a yield. A word of caution avoid cooking with the extra virgin or virgin since it has a lower smoking point than the refined olive oil. In other words, it takes a lower temperature to start burning. Why that version is used mostly for salad dressing or something other than cooking with. With that said, my preferred brand when making home pizza is Goya's Puro Olive Oil. It's a blend of refined and extra virgin olive oil made from Spanish olives. To me it's the best pizza oil. Love the flavor it adds to pizza. Great video and thanks!!
Thanks
I thought it meant alcohol-free
To clarify the reason why the cacao from the Ivory coast and or West Africa is inexpensive is because of the type of cacao which is called forastero, like the palm oil the tree yield more beans per hectarea. However, there are other kind of cacao beans such as trinitario and criollo. Trinitario is a mixture of forastero and criollo. That is the chocolate that you get when you eat a dark chocolate bar and in average have 50% and up of cacao. The criollo is Produce mostly in Venezuela and is consider the best cacao in the world.
In Spain olive oil use to be relatively cheap only 2-3€ for a litre of extra virgin, in the last six months the prices skyrocketed to 9-10€ a litre of the same oil today. Three years of low rain and the increase of the cost of pretrol made this crazy increase in the price of the oil. I don't know in other countries but if you didn't notice this price increase is because they prefer to export instead of selling it inside spain
In Greece for 2litres is 20,94 euro and the 18 litre in tin is 140euros if you find
Buy homemade lol!!

I am from Greece, a country that gives enough oil to the market. No one helps because we cultivate the fruit of our tree and every year the prices for us are reduced. We have almost no subsidy help.
I am from Southeast Georgia USA I am a shrimper and they do the same thing to us
I always buy Greek EVOO, because I understood that you have very strict quality laws for it. Taste wise it's also quite neutral (at least the brand I have), which makes it great for cooking.

Better let her go, before Popeye gets mad!
Yes indeed. I used to call the grocery store down the street when they would have a new hire. I'd ask her if they had Olive Oil in a bottle? The secretary would always say yes for some reason. The issue with that, back then that store only cared it in the can, so I didn't feel sorry at all when I'd drop the next line on her.
If you have Olive Oil in a bottle, then Popeye is on his way and he is so mad and just ate a can of spinach.
Some would get the joke and some not so much. It's almost as bad as Damper Dan in a can too. His wife was so mad he would hide inside a can. Lol

I’m sick of podcast cryptobro ads. Lemme watch meh be amazed
Im amazed at the oil machinery and other products too! Who came up with these ideas? That be a good video!
the expensive olive oil is no different other then the extra ingredients they put in it to make it taste different so all you are doing is paying for is the gold and silver particulars they add.
Love your video Be Amazed and keep up the great work you are awesome
hey BE AMAZED I LOVE you're vids and i subcribed

9:42- Olive Oil has a lower density than water.
I was going to comment the same thing.
Don't forget Greece, we have great olive oil too! And yes the last few years it's getting very expensive 😢
Greece invented olive oil.
I married a Greek. Her sister has a olive tree farm so I get it super fresh. And it's soooo good. She makes feta from their goats and well you being Greek know what happens

Could you do a video on how they make dark vanilla and clear vanilla?
Bro recognizes Catalonia as a country instead of it being part of Spain :skull:
Blimey another cracking video off in a unexpected direction from the previous 😮 And then there were the animations 😂😂😂 I knew that obviously a lot of intensive work goes into the production of these spices but it's Crazy when you look at how much is needed for so little produced. Who on earth originally found the three stems of crocus gave delicious flavouring but not that of another plant? Or that they have to be dried in certain ways to work? The intense work on all was astounding! My butchers sell beautiful extra virgin olive oil, it's divine and so much nicer than vegetable or sunflower oil that was all I could afford when I first left home. Switching up just made everything taste so much nicer 😊 Really fascinating video, definitely need more similar for a series from you 😊
Jamie 'Olive oil' would be proud
well today is getting more expensive when it comes to market or agriculture
This is amazing like come on nobody would think this through like be amazed, does it
Do you think you could do a video on artisans who specialize in unusual and long-forgotten crafts? I know people who carve mammoth ivory, turn ashes into diamonds, 3D print gold, recycle coffee grounds into bricks and even carve jewelry from human bones
I near totally agree with you. I'm not a fan of ivory anything though, it's barbaric how it's obtained.
@@RachelMartin-di8fy True, but this is fossilized ivory from thousands of years ago dug up in the tundra, and not something hunted for sport
@@ThrillSeeker3524 I hope so.
Can you do a video about the Eurovision Song Constest like you did with the big explosion in WW1.
Saffron is in small boxes , and at most you get 9 , maybe 12 stamens , for $10:00 each .
Vanilla , last pric i heard was over $150 :00 . per ounce . 3-4 beans , soaked for months in a small vodka , will get you vanilla essence .
Cocoa , is another which has to be hand polinated . The pods are quite strong , and each country , which produces chocolate , which has a distinct flavor , for each country . Yumm .
Idk what to put here
But we all know we hate high prices
Be amazed is very nice :D
This is with a call god of a TH-camr
Your one of my favorite TH-camrs
I'm amazed ❤️
This was an amazing video
I love ur vids
Bro really spent a car money for an olive oil
I'm grateful to have real saffron on weekly basis 🙏
First Im glad you are back love your voice. Here in México in the state of Veracruz there is still harvesting of vanilla thanks to the wheater and to the bee pollinator 😊, is unfair people believe that is from Madagascar. With the cacao hsrvesters one can feel bad to them 😮
in that first piece about Olive oil, the dishes are CORNING WARE, and my mom and grandma got theirs in 1974, when my aunt in Connecticut found the sets on sale. Mom still had her complete set, and uses them nearly every day! The "Ancient Mixer," on the other hand...while my grandma used a big industrial unit when she cooked for the School District, from the 1960's until 1996, our current unit, she bought BRAND NEW...in 1992.
I love how your channel works. 15 seconds ago I was watching a dark, depressing video with no music and a saddened voice with no jokes going on about escaping North Korea, now we have jokes, a happy voice and a bunch of... well serious and jokingly stuff, with upbeat music in the background!

Try coconut oil in England it will be expensive. It's only cheap there in the USA cause it's made in Hawaii. Olive oil is cheap in southern Europe and Spain cause it's made there. Extra Virgin Coconut oil cheap here in the Philippines cause one of the largest coconut producer heck we even have 2 trees in our garden just don't park your car under it😂
A perfect oil for Jamie Oliver, olive oil
The first part olive, o-laugh, o-love. Kind of sound like the name of a song called we live we love we lie.
I agree
Hi
Good guy I agree
@BeAmazed Saffron seems insane . I'm not a fan but, I can appreciate all the very difficult work that goes into production.
Liked from Malaysia🇲🇾
The price of olive oil has always irritated me. But it's the only oil I use. Thinking about substituting margarine
Edible oil refinery operation manager here! Olive oil is a very healthy oil, but it is NOT meant for any heat. It is not a good oil for cooking food in, seeing as it's mainly sold as a virgin oil.
All cooking oils have to go through a refining process, mainly physical or chemical refining.
Why does it need to go through this stage to be able to cook with it? Because a virgin oil has allot of impurities that does not cope well with heat, giving off sour and burning sensations in your mouth or throat. The last thing you want to taste on your steak is sourness.
Why do chefs cook with it then? Mostly sponsors and olive oil companies paying money to the chef's to cook with it. That's why you never see people deep fry with olive oil, it's not made for that application.
26:02 Also it’s milk chocolate which is a very dilute form of chocolate
This guys makes me be amazed! By his constant upload schedule!
It's called having a team
no shit
The best olive oil comes from Greece. Im very fortunate that my sister in law has a olive tree farm and she makes olive oil along with feta.
I alwayes wanted to know that, finally I got the answer!
One of the ads that popped up during this video was from Dr. Gundry and his $40 8.5 oz bottle of Olive Oil. I buy some Extra Virgin Olive Oil from an Italian grocery store in my area for $8.99. Anybody try the good Dr.'s Olive Oil ?
26:14 thats ghana 😢. Ivory coast is tiny.
Be amazed is super
I wonder how many more Americans love that Parmesan to put on their pizzia? God knows I used to love it so much. Then I found out that the crap I was loving so much, wasn't parmesan cheese as that stupid label says it is.
No, since real parmesan cheese cost in the thousands for a block of the stuff.... Like seriously they will use a block of cheese as collateral to buy a new house where it is produced and made.
Over here on my side of the great pond we call the Atlantic Ocean, we got something we call parmesan cheese too and it's a faction of the price. I have to ask now, how many Americans love eating wood? Would you love a little packed of flavored wood to go on top of the $25 pizzia we just sold you?
I have had the pleasure of tasting real parmesan cheese and there is a freaking huge difference in taste my friends. There is no equal to or great than to real Parmesan Cheese. But I will say this, until you know the real difference, just keep eating the wood my friends. You'd have to certainly take out a loan for a few tasty grams of cheese.
Don't get me even started on Real American Cheese that we put on everything. Even when it is made with real 2% Milk. Sorry Kraft, I want that fatty fat fat milk in my cheese thank you very much. Oh wait it isn't cheese either. Damn you American Government for allowing this crap.
Yeah, I've noticed years ago the ingredients on Parmesan cheese will say cellulose powder (to prevent caking it says), I thought, that's basically sawdust🤨
Can you make a video on the Matrix of our society, politics and other mega minds who put nearly all people from around the world lost in it?
Idk if you understood what I was trying to say 😂
Big fan of your channel
This is my best voice actor on this channel
Damn $5,000 4 saffron, that's CRAZY!! WHOEVER BUYS IT IS CRAZIER!!! NO FOOD SHOULD COST THAT MUCH DON'T CARE HOW MUCH $$$ someone has
What about the artificial vanilla that is made from Castoreum that comes from the beaver's castor gland?
Today is the 1 year anniversary of fnf dave and bambi 3.0 update
i did all im subed liked and hit the bell.
I"ve heard that the cinnamon we eat isn't real either. Like vanilla, almost everyone has never eaten the "real" product.
Fascinating content as always 👍😃💯💯💯
I still chug olive oil when my mom told me not to
I love my olive!
Me-I agree. I love the posts, especially the Darwin ones 😂
24:20 you can't say that and NOT expect to be taken out of context 😭
Might as well binge this while waiting for the groceries to be less expensive.
Cacao can actually be sweet, my family has a farm where we can sometimes pick cacao from it's not always bitter it can be a really good snack.
My grandpa has a garden with 5 olive trees in Lebanon
"I sell olive oil and olive oil accessories."
Interesting revelation on the source of artificial vanilla. Somehow I had the impression that it came from a gland on a beaver's butt. I always wondered how that could possibly be cost effective. Your source seems far more viable.
24:58 Yeah; most cacao workers have never actually tasted processed chocolate
In india we mainly use coconut oil .
We dont use much olive oil
Yes olives, saffron and coffee hard to grow and harvest but us-latin can't do without it

Its wings are too small to get

The bee, of course, flies anyway

- Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good.
- Hear about Frankie?
- Yeah.
- You going to the funeral?
- No, I'm not going.
Everybody knows,

Don't waste it on a squirrel.
Such a hothead.
I guess he could have
just gotten out of the way.
I love this incorporating
an amusement park into our day.
That's why we don't need vacations.
Boy, quite a bit of pomp...
under the circumstances.
- Well, Adam, today we are men.
- We are!
- Bee-men.
- Amen!
Hallelujah!

The second place among the countries with the largest production of olive oil in Europe was secured this year by Greece, after Spain and overtaking Italy.
05:20. Id like to see you try eating even a handful of freshly picked olives 😀 They are not good, no matter how big of an olive fan you are.

My husband thinks I'm funny for buying super cheap cans of hominy, then heating it up with butter, saffron, parsley, and a little parm (the real stuff). I know what I'm putting on the hominy to flavor it is WAY more expensive than the hominy itself, but it's still my favorite late night "comfort food."

Lying under an olive tree with your mouth open would be disgusting, not salty. Theyre intensely bitter before theyre processed
23:40 if it takes this much manual labor, it makes you wonder how they knew to do any of this or figure out how
he was actually wrong vannilan is the exact same as vanilla chemically but the way they were grown makes difference in taste
