Thanks for your reaction! I really believe that Tommy's covers have an outstanding quality, as you say it is not "just a cover", it is so well done and you can see not only his talent, but the hard work behind it.

I've seen people say stuff about him doing covers too. I feel like he's reminding us of forgotten songs and songs some people have never heard before. Songs that need to live on, classics, I guess that's the same as "breathing new life" into them, while paying a tremendous respect to the originals. I completely love his ability to do that with his all around, amazing talents. Team Tommy

Here's the original Deep Purple track, with David Coverdale on lead and Glenn Hughes on harmonies and high notes. Tommy put his trademark spin on Richie Blackmore's guitar solos, and does both vocals (again, very 'Tommy-ized'). All in all, a terrific re- imagining of a DP classic that doesn't get nearly enough love.

So for context, the old guy in sunglasses is Glenn Hughes, the basist of Deep Purple mark III. Some say that he sings better then Coverdale, but if you ask me it is a tossup. Burn is one of those songs where both Hughes and Coverdale play it live with their respective bands. Not sure if Deep Purple still play it.
