- A handy (OK... pun intended!) guide to Fleming's left hand rule and the motor effect from five minute physics. We don't just read out stuff you could find in a textbook - we explain things properly, just like a lesson. Watch it carefully, all the way through, and we're sure this video will help.
If it does, and you'd like to see more videos, please consider buying buying us a coffee - with www.paypal.com/ (we are burdenphysics@gmail.com) or / fiveminutephysics . Thanks!
Perfect for science and physics GCSE, IGCSE , or high school physics. This exactly matches the AQA specification, but will be great whichever exam board you are with.
I "learned" this last year and was so upset that i didn't understand, everyone did and moved on to the next lesson after a class test. I asked the teacher again and again but he got fed up of seeing my face. I didn't do well in that test. A year later and someone said this might come again so after crying over my textbook for several months, i came here. Thanks.
When i saw your hand on the figure i thought *yes* that was my question to the teacher i couldn't explain. I had so much difficulty trying to explain my question. Everytime the teacher explained i thought
'hm that's not what i asked for, i already know that'
and i think i get it now, phew! I can't find the right hand rule here, please make one, please!
THANK YOU
"I "learned" this last year and was so upset that i didn't understand, everyone did and moved on to the next lesson after a class test. " YESSSSSS BROOO sameeeee I hate when that happens - revisiting this topic gives me so much anxiety omg
I know right!! I'm having a big exam soon and I sometimes get anxious when re visiting old topics not clearly understood but push through it because at the end of the day, you did ur best.
At least you learnt this last year... I have just learnt this today. 7 weeks before my exams. Annd I do not get it at all
Don't worry it's never too late. 7 weeks is more than enough to prepare yourself i believe in you.

Thank you GorillaPhysics. I use Apple Keynote.
Thanks, some of the apple software is just really good I have to admit! Keep putting out the awesome videos!
@@KitBetts-Masters I'm now sending my A level students to you for your practical videos - amazing - thanks!
@@nathanburden4373 awesome Nathan! Glad to help!
Thank you so much, you explained this so well
Thank you!
Awesome video.
Omg I DID it! Tho my daughter is due GCSE 😁 ... I failed doing turkshead knot (scouts) for my other child. But I'll sleep happy now
Thank you. I didnt know how to use it now I do 😆😆😆
so what are the ways we would describe our answers
It usually asks you to describe the direction of the current/force/field or draw an arrow to show the direction
Bruh what's your patreon.
Can your first and second fingers overlap?
No, they should be pointing in different directions. At GCSE the field, current and motion will always be perpendicular.
@@fiveminutephysics Thank you, I wasn’t completely sure about this so I just wanted confirmation.
Omg i'm big fan #portamosanacollege
What do u do if u don't have a hand??
Skip the question!

Good teching sir
You can't defy the rules of nature
YES SPLIT IT WIDE OPEN
Don't forget that they run when the sun comes up
Should note that this is in the reference of Conventional flow, not electron flow.
That is true - but then current is always taken to be conventional current, unless otherwise stated.
@@fiveminutephysics Yes sir, it is. However for those who end up working in the electrical field and electrical testing field, please note that electric current flows, in real life, from negative to positive. Of course the caveat is that you must have a closed circuit to create any flow.
You may put yourself, others and equipment at risk without knowing the difference between Conventional flow and Electron flow.
cheers boss
but electrons travel from - to + ....
Metal Gear Rising brought me here
