  • Nada Al-Saleh is an eighty-year-old internally displaced woman in Syria’s Idlib. She is one of the survivors who witnessed terrible earthquakes with 7,8 and 7,6-magnitude earthquakes that hit Türkiye and Syria on February 6, 2023.
“I lost a lot, my son. I lost the youth, I lost a life, I lost my homeland,” Nada says and continue:
“We had everything we needed. We were happy. Now, we have nothing.”
“I lost seven beloved ones. And I live with the patience that God has granted me,” she tells.
“In those moments, I thought the whole world was ending,” Nada continues, describing the terrifying earthquake that devastated the region on February 6.
Since she has been suffering from heart muscle failure, Nada continuously receives medical treatment and necessary medicines from Dünya Doktorları (DDD)/Médecins du Monde (MdM) Türkiye’s clinic in Idlib’s Al Doaa.
Nada hopes that she can return to her village one day to smell the scent of their soil one last time and die there.
“And God willing, when I go to my lands one day, I will take the memories of my husband with me,” she concludes.
