I'd say just go back to the 5hp for right now. Gets you moving again until something else pops up. There may not be a big difference between a strong 5 and a weak 8. I think half the time, the only only noticeable difference between these single cylinder, small engine horsepower ratings is they have a different sticker on them.
I agree! A lot of truth to that! That may be something I do until something more in line with what I'm thinking comes up.. There definitely was a seat of the pants difference to me between the 5hp and the 8hp.. but, I also have to keep in mind it was also clutch vs torque converter. Thanks for the valued insight! From an 8 hp to 5hp there really isn't much difference..if anything ..the 5 hp will get up to top speed sooner..not as much weight flying around from that big journal crankshaft. Large diameter crank.. Good luck.. 😎👍😎
