Kessler is ok but he's not very athletic. Nothing against Edey I like him alot and I think he will have a solid career but remember this is Summer League. Dude saying Walker Kessler is an Elite defensive player made me laugh out loud 😂. Edey only has 1 problem and that is his speed, he is slow but that won't keep him from being a very good player. If he could get himself moving faster I fully believe he could turn into a future hofer. Just my opinion, we all have them. ✌️

Pippen didn't want to pass Edey the rock. It was obvious and an old man could have given Edey the rock. Ware had 6 dunks last game because his guards fed him the rock....26 and 11 with 3 assists
Too much hero ball at the end of the Grizz game. Players fighting for a spot. Can't fault them for it. They needed that more than Edey and they came up short as a team because of it.

I'm really hoping Edey can give Purdue a face in the league. I know Ivey is still in the league, but he hasn't quite taken off. Would be great to have someone well known do well.
I watched the game and I thought Memphis willingly limited running offense to Edey so they could see how he would play and effect the game w/o being featured. Imagine if they do run let’s say 10 plays for him over 30 mins.
It was telling when they needed a bucket they tried to run a play through him. Problem was they had zero clue how to set up a post entry.

Tennessee residents who've viscerally hated Edey for two or more years are about to have a "come to Jesus moment", when they realize what a great basketball player Edey is. Not only that but how hard he'll work to help bring a title to Tennessee, what a fantastic, non ego team first guy he is. I am not a huge NBA fan, but I simply cannot WAIT to see how Ja Morant uses his new "toy"!!😂
Regarding the stretch where he had no stats...you might be right. BUT. If you watch the replay the ball was taking crazy bounces off the rim and Edey had no chance at like 10 straight rebounds.

Edey is the first tall guy I have seen whos built like his frame can handle his own size. I bet he is relatively injury free.

As an IU fan naturally I don’t like Purdue but if Edey was playing for Canada against USA I’d be all in pulling for them to beat America.
Zach might have got a T last night... but generally for years this kid has been kind to his opponents and shown great sportsmanship... I can't think of single time he fouled someone really hard or with malice that may have resulted in an injury. I would not want to piss him off though

That guard who got switched with Edey must shoot the ball with 100% accuracy because that guard cannot layup or dunk over Zach's 7'11" wingspan

@@OwenRona I hope Edey can play in the NBA, it just seems like the whole game has evolved into forcing mismatches and then a big trying to stop a guard from scoring. Around the basket he will be a beast, when he is forced to guard on the perimeter, could be a problem.
Grizzlies had a lot of success with big’ole Adams.
Edney is bigger and you have to guard him.

Kalel Ware's debut was no comparison to Edey's IMO. He missed so many shots. His block defense looked really good but his team was dominated. His second game was better when he had 26 because they were feeding the post. If the Grizzlies would have fed the post more than once, Edey would have had a lot more points.
I was worried when they sat him last night to rest?? Hopefully no real injury from the several incidents in game 1!
Perhaps Sleepers Media and 1 or two other analyst teams have done enough film and analysis to have an intelligent viewpoint of Zach Edey.. Really strong tangent connection to how good the Purdue guards were in passing to Edey... especially Smith.
I watched the game.. the Grizzlies young guards looked like ball hogs in a Saturday morning AAU tourney--- hardly passed to Edey and I think the conclusion for me is that they have no idea how to do it because we saw 6 different guards at Purdue easily get him the ball this last year.

The Grizzlies have 3 players who are the top 3 options on offense, Ja, Bane and Tripple J. The offense will not run through him. We need his rebounding, screening, passing and defense. His offensive skills are icing on the cake and Ja and Bane will give him the ball, but our offense will not run through the post. If that is your expectation then you will very disappointed. Also your criticism of the guards let me know that you have not watched the Grizzlies.

14 points and 15 rebounds with 4 blocks thank you very much against a 3rd year 7’2 starter who was 2nd in BPG last year. That makes a statement. And those 14 points came even with his retarded teammates deciding to not pass him the ball when he’s deep in the paint making Kessler look like a bitch. It’s an obvious sign that he’s gonna be really good for a while.
