    I'm so excited for Zach to join the Grizzlies. This kid is as hardworking as they come! Grizzlies are a top team as far as development, and I trust Coach Jenkins to know how to get the most out of Zach's talent. He's an elite screener and finisher, which will be incredible to have alongside Ja. He's an elite rebounder and especially on the offensive glass. The rim protection of him and Jaren sharing the floor will be incredible. So hyped!

    @thequixoticangler3364 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I did tape review for this draft for 3 NBA scouts. Zach was my guy. I probably watched everything on him. All of it. He's a monster in the making.
    Temper your expectations. 12/12/3 is a realistic stat line this year. That should give him the ROY. Dont expect big offensive nights this year.
    Next year- He could become another Shaq. 25/15/3.
    Here's how and why: He's one of the largest men in the NBA immediately. You PNR and he's the stalker. Ja misses, Zach eats. Ja gets pressed, Zach eats.
    On D it's very simple: Hes Aquaman. Sit him down in the post and run a 131 zone. It's essentially a man hybrid with the C in the block permanently.
    Sheed said it best 2 months ago. "Eventually, you gotta bang low. You have to go down there. Edey? Man, nah you aint eating on him."
    You have to go to the basket. 80% of the NBA game is PNR or Drive and Kick. Edey doesn't have to switch. You just sit him on the block. First time he evaporates a top guard like Curry on impact, it changes the narrative. You cant go down there with Frank(My nickname for Edey as in Frankenstein).
    He's far more athletic than you've seen. He can absolutely run. He can shoot. He bodied Clingan and Sarr defensively at the combine. Ate em up.
    Finally, He's a winner. He's also insanely durable. This interview shows you a guy that only thinks about basketball. Memphis got a steal at 9 IMO, and ive been reviewing drafts for NBA scouts since 06.

    • @iunnoi28
      @iunnoi28 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was aware of the footage posted by Givony, but what do you mean by bodying Clingan and Sarr at the combine? Was there a secret scrimmage? Also I heard he completely dominated in workouts against other prospects but do you know what they looked like?

    • @thequixoticangler3364
      @thequixoticangler3364 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@iunnoi28 i was at the combine. It was a special gift from a Scout I know.
      1. The "Combine" isn't just the set drills and scrimmages. There are elite level pickup games that occur under strict secrecy. That's where you move up or down. Not the TV show.
      2. Zach did dominate the drills. He outperformed every big by a wide margin. He was stronger than Shaq, if your doing the raw numbers. He's faster than Clingan, Stronger too. He shot better than Sarr.
      3. Bodied- in the closed runs, he murdered Clingan so bad he fell from 2 to 7 in a night. Portland couldn't pass on him, they created his myth. Their scouts were the highest on him.
      He blistered Sarr in the next game I saw. Just emberrased him. Also, I'm pretty sure that's when Atlanta chose Resachier. He had a 20+ point triple dip by my count. Edey only scored 8 but 6 were from the line on 7 attempts and he dunked on Sarr. Sarr had 5/7/2. It was bad. BTW Edey had 17 rips and 6 blocks.
      Game 3 explained the first 10 picks IMO.
      Resachier had another nice game. Sarr had a better game, but he played the 4 with Edey this time. Holland lost his fkn mind. I mean he got so hot the bench guys actually put a fan on him when he sat down in acknowledgement. 30+ in 25 minutes. Scary.
      Castle looked like a solid guard. Dilly looked lost but he's so athletic. The guy that Utah took had a nice 2 way game.
      Clingan struggled and got gassed way too fast. He's going to be the first performance bust. He cannot post up on d at all. His legs are comically thin.
      Edey - Notice how he exploded up the board the 3rd day of the combine? Those games happened the night before. That's real basketball. The real test.
      He looked like a grown man in a kindergarten class. He played like that too. He dominated. If he didn't score, he ended a players game with a screen, grabbed 15 boards and blocked the referee just to make sure everyone got one. LoL. Memphis got the best player in the draft. He's my ROY pick.
      You wanted a book ...... Hope you read it.

      @@iunnoi28 short version: Zach looked like the number one pick.

    • @thequixoticangler3364
      @thequixoticangler3364 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@iunnoi28 last thing.
      "Potential". This is the myth that gets you fired. I do not believe in it at all as it relates to drafting. Wanna know why we have so many bad drafts now? Potential.
      Alex Sarr is Andrea Bargnani all over again. 7' unicorn who can shoot in practice. Had a meh combine. Why 2? Because somebody in DC thinks they can lab grow a Giannis clone. You can't. It doesn't work like that.
      The NBA is 82 games in roughly 5 months. Add the Summer league, preseason and playoffs it's 100 minimum in 6-8 months 150 if you get to the finals.
      There is no time to develop a guy. There's no "offseason". Like baseball there are 5 tools plus the mental aspect.
      Shooting, Passing, Defense, Rebounding and Athleticism. You need to be elite at 2 to make an NBA roster. 3 to start consistently. 4 is all star and 5 is HOF.
      The NBA's flaw is thinking they can take a one tool guy and develop him. Jahlil Okafor. Markelle Fultz. One tool. Bust.

    • @iunnoi28
      @iunnoi28 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thequixoticangler3364 I was hearing that no less than 8 teams were interested in acquiring him at around 14 and that the main concern about grabbing him in the upper 10 was because they were scared of being fired if he didn’t pan out. It’s also funny because I swear Edey has the only ad out there which is extremely strange if people didn’t think he would pan out.
