Putting the crew in a sub in the 50s seems logical. And this story actually seems plausible. Many things in the deep ocean and pathways to inner earth

@@StarTrek-Underground I am a retired Navy enlisted. I often hung out at the sub base at Pearl harbor after hours at the bar, and overheard 2 stories from bubble heads at the bar. 1: the guys sub was ordered to look for undersea "rivers" off the coast of California. They did, and supposedly travelled 1000 miles inland in that subterranean river . 2: overheard a sailor talking about tracking an unidentified object travelling at jet aircraft speed near the Marianas Trench

I love this it really could have happened. The navy was integrated in the 50s, you just need a daring producer to do it. Late '50s and Jim Brown could play Worf for the star power. (I don’t know when he started, but I know he retired to go into acting full time.) Edit: it wasn’t till 1964 but was in the offseason. So he has a chance, if they want that big athletic look and they choose him for the draw, he would just be recurring so it didn't interfere with his NFL career.

The "star" part comes when they surface and take a fix using sextant.
Yep, I know, in the '50s they already had Loran-A and Decca but I'm willing to bet they still used sextant and stars, y'know, just to be on the safe side.

Oh goodie... Yet more AI generated trash...

    • @StarTrek-Underground
      @StarTrek-Underground  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey, man, that's not fair.
I don't sit in front of the AI and ask “create me a video about Star Trek 1950s” and in 10 seconds it is done. I'd hate a video made like that too.
And it took me 3 days to create this video.
      1. I imagined the story, and created a script - which was adjusted several times during the process, to improve the quality of the story.
      2. In fact, it was just supposed to be a curious, perhaps amusing story.
      3. I imagined each scene and character. Here, with the help of an AI, they were created. Do you know what the process is like? I write a text describing in detail what each one should look like. An image is generated, I see if it's what I wanted, if it isn't (usually the first one generated isn't), I adjust the text, and a new one is generated. In this project, each image was achieved on the average of the 10th attempt. Who do you think came up with the idea of creating Data as a cute, Asimov-like robot instead of a man in an android suit?
      4. I ask the AI to give a certain movement to each of the images, so that in the end it doesn't look like a slide show. Same process, several attempts until I get what I want.
      5. I put all the scenes together (me, not the AI), taking extreme care with something called continuity, so that the video flows as if it were a story being told. Once again, various adjustments are made to make the video comfortable for the audience, and interesting (well, the video is getting a good audience, and some compliments).
      6. This video was produced in 3 days, not a few seconds. It wasn't made by AI. It was made by a human, who used AI as a tool to create the images.
Before the term AI became popular, the name of this technique was “special effects”, used extensively in all sci-fi movies, since forever. Just like that. In the old days, designers used computers to create the effects; today, a more advanced computer does it. This AI is just a very advanced computer, but it's not intelligent at all - just as computers always have been.
Watch the video again with that in mind. :)

      @@StarTrek-Underground Don't give a shit.
You used AI, so that invalidates every other aspect of your "process", full stop, end of story...
Do it all yourself, or don't do it...
