@@danielawesome36 you may not realise it but you are crossing your eyes anyway, that method that you are using is an alternative, mostly used by those who can’t perform the cross easily on command, but still perfectly valid. Anyway, one way or another you have to cross the eyes to be able to see these.

My eyes were both probably looking straight ahead. Have you noticed how things that are close to your eyes seem to be in two places at once? That's what I'm talking about when I said "The opposite." When you go cross-eyed, the two seperate images move to the center of your focus, but when I relaxed my eyes, the two seperate images moved _away_ from the center.

I can’t cross my eyes like normal people so I had to use my finger as a guide, and seeing the ting actually scared me for a second. Then I “touched” it with my finger and it vanished, kinda as if it were a soap bubble. Really fun, thanks for the tip
@haidls back tbf, it only worked the first time. Every other time if it happened, it happened accidentally. But it was basically just a big cone or mound pointing to you in the middle of the screen. If you’ve ever played a 3DS before, it was pretty much like that, about the same level of 3dness

When your eyes start moving back towards normal, they'll make the patterns they see line up at the first possible chance... so if you start out with your eyes crossed further, they will also make the patterns snap together while shifted farther apart.

I am currently reading Uzumaki by Junji Ito, so, to me, the the first image looks like a pyre consisting of the amalgam flesh of a mass of people infected by spirals that is swirling as it writhes out of the monitor to drag you down into their vortex.

When you manage to combine the two pictures into One you move arround the picture without Them split into left and right. You start noticing shapes. Practise on Still images first. So you get used to it.

@@AmitJayant Don't cross your eyes. For these ones you have to use parallel viewing, imagine that the screen is a window and you're looking through it at something in the distance. Parallel viewing is easier and it doesn't hurt your eyes as much like cross eye does. Once you can control your eyes and do parallel viewing, work on your focusing. Takes some time to achieve this, but it's the closest thing to a super power lol. It's pretty cool when you can do something that most of your friends can't.

It just makes me think that since we are able to produce illusions of 3d on a 2d screen using this. Can we do the same for lower and higher dimensions too for our brain. Ie can our brain be tricked? Like that
Our sense of depth comes from overlaying images from each of our eyes, and this is what stereograms exploit to produce the 3D effect. So this trick won't allow us to see anything we can't see already, like the 4th dimension. However, seeing lower dimensions is easy - that's what normal pictures are. ;)
Not great from the perspective that the pattern moves, but not the depth information or generated 3D object. Animated the actual 3D image generated by the overlap would be much more interesting.

I didn't cross my eye, I did the opposite.
I put my eyes so close to the screen, de-focused, and slowly pulled away until I got the look right.
