For anyone thinking that Divalin and Azhdaha are dragon sovereigns lemme clear out some things. Divalin, according to Venti was like a gentle child when he first met him after hearing Venti's music. "When elemental lifeforms descend, they become slimes and when they ascend, they become crystalflies. However, he was different." Divalin was very young when he met with Venti and Venti's age is ~3500+. Azhdaha was initially a rock spirit when Zhongli found him so if we presume that the rock spirit existed before even Zhongli, it kinda wouldn't make sense since elemental lifeforms in their primordial form cannot exist for a prolonged period of time. The only possibility is Azhdaha being a descendant of the sovereigns because Vishaps were originally the children of sovereigns.
i think that the reason why they are still aware of forbidden knowledge is because they see it as more of a concept or a thing that exists. nahida had to erase rukkhadevata from irminsul because she knew the content within forbidden knowledge. at least this is how i understood it ;-;

This. Forbidden knowledge as a concept cannot be erased, only the specific examples. You can burn a book, but you can't erase the concept of the written word from all knowledge.

I would like to note 1:28:31 you mentioned spacebars that's because the Geoshroom mentioned someone that has been deleted in Irminsul which is Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. The memories of the geoshroom was still intact and remebered a different name but her name can't be mentioned anymore because it does not exist in Irminsul.
I was literally gonna say that!! Its so cool that they put it bc we have a lot of thinks in game that have been affected by the Irminsul but we dont know what happended, for now the obvious ones are the related with rukkhadevata
I just finished this quest but I haven't done the aranara quest, It's so interesting to see that she mentions the aranara helping her, when I played she just said her "many familiars" would help, It's so cool to see these little details!
Azhdaha could technically be a primordial dragon tho we don't really know where tf he came from he was just buried in the ground. Just a lil theory tho idk. I need to look at the dialogues again did Zhongli call him the ruler of dragons? Or ruler of vishaps?

actually azhdaha could be the geo dragon, he's a vishap (which are dragons), called the ruler of vishaps, and zhongli didn't make him just found him. the azdaha we fight as a weekly boss is an eroded version of him that has been imprisoned for like two thousand years, but if you see the tree where the domain entrance is, that should actually be his tail, which is about four or five times bigger. there's some in-game writing that even says he was the size of a mountain, which makes sense for the geo dragon.
Oh for anyone that has finished the quest. After reset (the next day), there's a new world quests that starts from Nur in that bridge This quest will auto go into your quests list after you logged in
The fungi sacrifice made me cry because it felt to me like a paralel to Rukkhadevata's sacrifice. She too sacrificed her power and memories, her people will never know what she went through and what she gave up to protect them (and all of Teyvat), but she didn't feel sad or resentful, instead she was glad that Nahida was born and that this new archon would take her place and lead the nation to days of peace.

Elemental Form Anemo Fungus definitely reminds me of Razor at first glance when it speaks and it's so cute (yet so sad because it also sacrificed to save Apep)...

I love the little details in this game - like how the little fungi got fruit relevant to their abilities :D The floaty one got tree fruit and the one who can't fly got the ones on the ground... this game is beyond amazing sometimes
this part of nahida’s quest for me at least felt more interesting than the first part and the dragon boss is honestly awesome though i wasn’t expecting it to be a weekly boss AND new room finally is happening today is a good day
Both of nahida's quests are amazingly written and fleshed out for sure! But the tone and focus theme story between the first and second are different even if they share similar themes at some points; the first one is central on the theme of grief/loss and overcoming it with Nahida reconnecting with her people, helping them and learning how to empathize with them makes it a down to earth relatable yet meaningful story -- it's not as mysterious or intriguing on a story aspect compared to the second one for that exact reason The second one in comparison is really lore heavy, features a lot more creatures and unexpected elemental beings and uncovering more about the past events, showcases more of nahida's abilities as a god, and how it's all connected topped off with a grand boss fight and a bittersweet ending alike the aranyaka quest. For sure the second one is a lot more mysterious and interesting than the first, but both are enjoyable and well written in their own ways!
The last part of the search really gave us a lot of information. aaah, I'm excited to know more about dragons 1:32:22 i'm pretty sure this part refers to Phanes, the primordial! I hope they keep mentioning it in the future

I was really surprised that none of the story quest was in the new area. Even the area with the light coming out of the cave was part of the Hadramaveth desert patch, but the lore drop was insane. The new desert world quest also has some big lore, so I’m looking forward to seeing you play it!

nahida's story quests are so good omg.... i was excited since the livestream bcs we have been teased with the pre-celestia lore from enkanomiya, including the seven dragons, and we finally got it in a major quest. they really stepped up with sumeru quests aaaaaaa apep's wording on "the victor would shape the world while the lose turns to ash" is so similar to what dain said for natlan's chapter in the travail trailer so im guessing natlan would be full of the 7 ancient dragons lore. love your commentary as always! wishing you the best in your move also!
40:14 if you read the book before Sun and Moon they've said that there were 7 dragon sovereigns and each represented elemental life forms. Dendro one turned into land, mountains, water... and so on
This lore is insane. It’s crazy. Confirmation of “before sun and moon.” The primordial one beat the second who came. Nibelung the dragon king wanted was the one who decided to use forbidden knowledge to fight the heavenly principles (which I think are the laws of the world set after the primordial one took over). And after failing and dying somehow, he came back to life. Not sure which element the dragon king is supposed to be, but it might be the water dragon since we know that one reincarnated (who is probably NOT kokomi). Also, the sinner is probably king Irmin. Unrelated but seems important. It could also be Deshret but King Irmin fits better as a self-described “sinner” who sees all, since he’s a reference to Odin who sees all. Irminsul (Yggdrasil) and Irmin (Odin). I feel like king Irmin probably repeated Deshret’s mistakes but did so to a greater and more horrible extent, to the point that even he realized he did something super messed up. It would also explain why he’s able to see the traveler throught their sibling in the leyline memory. Also, Celestia is probably empty. Not sure what’s going on or WHY it’s empty, but I don’t think anyone but the sustainer is there. Either everyone else left, everyone else died, or they’re trapped somewhere. And that’s only assuming anyone was EVER in Celestia, as it seems to just be a sort of glorified throne room rather than an actual city. The primordial one is also likely not there. (Or they’re trapped with everyone else). My guess is that the primordial one is beyond the fake sky. Also Paimon is interesting here. The elemental creature points out that Paimon is different and doesn’t assume she’s intelligent despite assuming the traveler and Nahida are intelligent. So she’s clearly not a human or a god. That basically confirms (at least to me) that she’s one of the seelie moon sisters. She’s like Guoba in that she doesn’t remember anything. Also, Rukkhadevatta still existed. It’s just that all memory of her was erased. The paradise from the goddess of flowers that king Deshret froze in time still has a throne that says “Rukkhadevatta” on it. And as we saw with Scara/wanderer, even removing someone from history doesn’t actually change the events of history, just how they’re recorded. So even if Rukkha got deleted, it was still HER who sealed deshret and did all the stuff in the past, not Nahida, who was still born from the twig Rukkha pruned from Irminsul 500 years ago. Nahida is still only 500 years old. It’s just that everyone THINKS Nahida is Rukkhadevatta and that the name Rukkhadevatta never existed, including Nahida herself. This is going to be relevant later somehow when we deal with irminsul directly again at some point in the future. Like how we did in Scara’s story quest. There’s no chance that we don’t use that place again for some reason.

the purpose of the rukkhadevata arc is to erase the specifics about what the forbidden knowledge was, i think! so yes, people still remember that the forbidden knowledge exists, they just don't know what exactly that forbidden knowledge was about. additionally, it doesn't really matter if the traveler knows about forbidden knowledge, since they aren't of this world. the only issue is irminsul knowing, since irminsul is kind of like the hard drive of the entire world. if the hard drive is corrupted, it becomes difficult for the machine to function

Imagine two text files, one named forbidden knowledge and the other called ‘the dangers of forbidden knowledge’. The first one is filled with gibberish that affects the computer like a virus and the second warns about it. We effectively erased the contents of the forbidden knowledge text file but not the file itself. Otherwise Nahida wouldn’t understand the danger of it and could stumble into the same situation as Deshret. Hope that helps explain it a little :)

Great quest! i loved a lot when i played it myself yesterday! i immediately dashed to jot down some notes about lore i pondered afterward, feel free to read them below! Dragons used to rule this realm, as Azdaha is the king of the Vishaps, perhaps Vishaps are Draconic creatures? And the 3 worlds, the elemental plane is the one that belonged to the dragons? But then why is the "surface" (pending) a debated topic for the Dendro Dragon & the Dragon King? Is the Corruption Divalin suffered from Forbidden Knowledge in a unique form? Just like how the Chasm's Ooze is another? It was granted by the evil dragon who died on Dragonspine… but it was also linked to the Abyss. The Dragon King collected this apocolypic power to fight the Heavenly Principles. Could the Archon war not only be the fight for whom is the Archon, but also to decide weather Dragons or Archons ruled the surface? or could it be entirely seperate, happening before even the Archon war? The Abyss is seemingly "Not of this world" as its power is rejected by Tevyat, and yet it is linked directly with it? The event quest in Encanomiya described the world in 3 levels, the Abyss at the bottom, the Elemental plane within, and the "Surface" being that of the Archons… We, one of the twins have successfully resolved a lot of conflict within Teyvat, saving Sumeru, Mondstadt & Liyue partially from its destruction, whilst this may seem like the main achievement we could also consider that within Sumeru & Inazuma the nations, we have re-aligned the nation with the Heavenly Principle's ideals… Could our path be pre-ordained by the heavenly principles? Is this all going according to their design? Did our twin realize this and deviate from the script? And if so was it a mistake that they sided with the abyss? As their true goal lies in saving Khanriha's people? Is Osial part of the Dragon's faction? And by association their wife? SO MANY QUESTIONS! aaah!

ok i had an idea: the “being” inside the fungus is a seelie. from other lore theories, the seelie race was probasbly wiped out 500 years ago during the cataclysm, (referred as the apocalypse). In the new trailer (I THINK) that hoyoverse released has a strange voice that resembles the one that the fungus has. it’s also connected to the new gadget that kinda looks like an oceanid. it’s an elemental life form because generally elemental life forms are affected by that element, including seelies because you can see them and their trails with elemental sight, (such as the anemo (mondstad), electro (inazuma) etc.) this may seem a little unclear but tbh idk
the seelie race was wiped out long before the cataclysm since seelie courts exist in Enkanomiya which fell into the sea during the war between PO and second throne iirc. interesting idea tho!
13:40 if i remember correctly, the Greater Lord deleted herself to erase the forbidden knowledge from the world, cause she "had" it in her, but not for people forgot abt it existing. like, she was corrupted by forbidden knowledge, so she beared it, and in order for it to stop existing on this world, she had to disappear, but knowledge that the forbidden knowledge exists is not the problem. does that makes sense ??

For the ones with the doubt, no Dvalin and Azdaha are not PRIMORDIAL DRAGONS, they are way weaker and the boss isn't the Dragon

I love the little details in this game - like how the little fungi got fruit relevant to their abilities :D The floaty one got tree fruit and the one who can't fly got the ones on the ground... this game is beyond amazing sometimes

this part of nahida’s quest for me at least felt more interesting than the first part and the dragon boss is honestly awesome though i wasn’t expecting it to be a weekly boss

Both of nahida's quests are amazingly written and fleshed out for sure! But the tone and focus theme story between the first and second are different even if they share similar themes at some points; the first one is central on the theme of grief/loss and overcoming it with Nahida reconnecting with her people, helping them and learning how to empathize with them makes it a down to earth relatable yet meaningful story -- it's not as mysterious or intriguing on a story aspect compared to the second one for that exact reason
The second one in comparison is really lore heavy, features a lot more creatures and unexpected elemental beings and uncovering more about the past events, showcases more of nahida's abilities as a god, and how it's all connected topped off with a grand boss fight and a bittersweet ending alike the aranyaka quest. For sure the second one is a lot more mysterious and interesting than the first, but both are enjoyable and well written in their own ways!
Another point on the list of things I never expected to hear from Rednas: “Have you banged a mushroom?”
The last part of the search really gave us a lot of information. aaah, I'm excited to know more about dragons

I was really surprised that none of the story quest was in the new area. Even the area with the light coming out of the cave was part of the Hadramaveth desert patch, but the lore drop was insane. The new desert world quest also has some big lore, so I’m looking forward to seeing you play it!

nahida's story quests are so good omg.... i was excited since the livestream bcs we have been teased with the pre-celestia lore from enkanomiya, including the seven dragons, and we finally got it in a major quest. they really stepped up with sumeru quests aaaaaaa
apep's wording on "the victor would shape the world while the lose turns to ash" is so similar to what dain said for natlan's chapter in the travail trailer so im guessing natlan would be full of the 7 ancient dragons lore.

40:14 if you read the book before Sun and Moon they've said that there were 7 dragon sovereigns and each represented elemental life forms. Dendro one turned into land, mountains, water... and so on

This lore is insane. It’s crazy. Confirmation of “before sun and moon.” The primordial one beat the second who came. Nibelung the dragon king wanted was the one who decided to use forbidden knowledge to fight the heavenly principles (which I think are the laws of the world set after the primordial one took over). And after failing and dying somehow, he came back to life. Not sure which element the dragon king is supposed to be, but it might be the water dragon since we know that one reincarnated (who is probably NOT kokomi).
Also, the sinner is probably king Irmin. Unrelated but seems important. It could also be Deshret but King Irmin fits better as a self-described “sinner” who sees all, since he’s a reference to Odin who sees all. Irminsul (Yggdrasil) and Irmin (Odin). I feel like king Irmin probably repeated Deshret’s mistakes but did so to a greater and more horrible extent, to the point that even he realized he did something super messed up. It would also explain why he’s able to see the traveler throught their sibling in the leyline memory.
Also, Celestia is probably empty. Not sure what’s going on or WHY it’s empty, but I don’t think anyone but the sustainer is there. Either everyone else left, everyone else died, or they’re trapped somewhere. And that’s only assuming anyone was EVER in Celestia, as it seems to just be a sort of glorified throne room rather than an actual city. The primordial one is also likely not there. (Or they’re trapped with everyone else). My guess is that the primordial one is beyond the fake sky.
Also Paimon is interesting here. The elemental creature points out that Paimon is different and doesn’t assume she’s intelligent despite assuming the traveler and Nahida are intelligent. So she’s clearly not a human or a god. That basically confirms (at least to me) that she’s one of the seelie moon sisters. She’s like Guoba in that she doesn’t remember anything.
Also, Rukkhadevatta still existed. It’s just that all memory of her was erased. The paradise from the goddess of flowers that king Deshret froze in time still has a throne that says “Rukkhadevatta” on it.
And as we saw with Scara/wanderer, even removing someone from history doesn’t actually change the events of history, just how they’re recorded. So even if Rukkha got deleted, it was still HER who sealed deshret and did all the stuff in the past, not Nahida, who was still born from the twig Rukkha pruned from Irminsul 500 years ago. Nahida is still only 500 years old. It’s just that everyone THINKS Nahida is Rukkhadevatta and that the name Rukkhadevatta never existed, including Nahida herself. This is going to be relevant later somehow when we deal with irminsul directly again at some point in the future. Like how we did in Scara’s story quest. There’s no chance that we don’t use that place again for some reason.

the purpose of the rukkhadevata arc is to erase the specifics about what the forbidden knowledge was, i think! so yes, people still remember that the forbidden knowledge exists, they just don't know what exactly that forbidden knowledge was about.
additionally, it doesn't really matter if the traveler knows about forbidden knowledge, since they aren't of this world. the only issue is irminsul knowing, since irminsul is kind of like the hard drive of the entire world. if the hard drive is corrupted, it becomes difficult for the machine to function

Imagine two text files, one named forbidden knowledge and the other called ‘the dangers of forbidden knowledge’. The first one is filled with gibberish that affects the computer like a virus and the second warns about it. We effectively erased the contents of the forbidden knowledge text file but not the file itself. Otherwise Nahida wouldn’t understand the danger of it and could stumble into the same situation as Deshret.

Great quest! i loved a lot when i played it myself yesterday! i immediately dashed to jot down some notes about lore i pondered afterward, feel free to read them below!
Dragons used to rule this realm, as Azdaha is the king of the Vishaps, perhaps Vishaps are Draconic creatures? And the 3 worlds, the elemental plane is the one that belonged to the dragons? But then why is the "surface" (pending) a debated topic for the Dendro Dragon & the Dragon King?
Is the Corruption Divalin suffered from Forbidden Knowledge in a unique form? Just like how the Chasm's Ooze is another? It was granted by the evil dragon who died on Dragonspine… but it was also linked to the Abyss.
The Dragon King collected this apocolypic power to fight the Heavenly Principles. Could the Archon war not only be the fight for whom is the Archon, but also to decide weather Dragons or Archons ruled the surface? or could it be entirely seperate, happening before even the Archon war?
The Abyss is seemingly "Not of this world" as its power is rejected by Tevyat, and yet it is linked directly with it? The event quest in Encanomiya described the world in 3 levels, the Abyss at the bottom, the Elemental plane within, and the "Surface" being that of the Archons…
We, one of the twins have successfully resolved a lot of conflict within Teyvat, saving Sumeru, Mondstadt & Liyue partially from its destruction, whilst this may seem like the main achievement we could also consider that within Sumeru & Inazuma the nations, we have re-aligned the nation with the Heavenly Principle's ideals… Could our path be pre-ordained by the heavenly principles? Is this all going according to their design?
Did our twin realize this and deviate from the script? And if so was it a mistake that they sided with the abyss? As their true goal lies in saving Khanriha's people?
Is Osial part of the Dragon's faction? And by association their wife?

ok i had an idea:
the “being” inside the fungus is a seelie. from other lore theories, the seelie race was probasbly wiped out 500 years ago during the cataclysm, (referred as the apocalypse). In the new trailer (I THINK) that hoyoverse released has a strange voice that resembles the one that the fungus has. it’s also connected to the new gadget that kinda looks like an oceanid. it’s an elemental life form because generally elemental life forms are affected by that element, including seelies because you can see them and their trails with elemental sight, (such as the anemo (mondstad), electro (inazuma) etc.) this may seem a little unclear but tbh idk
the seelie race was wiped out long before the cataclysm since seelie courts exist in Enkanomiya which fell into the sea during the war between PO and second throne iirc. interesting idea tho!

13:40 if i remember correctly, the Greater Lord deleted herself to erase the forbidden knowledge from the world, cause she "had" it in her, but not for people forgot abt it existing. like, she was corrupted by forbidden knowledge, so she beared it, and in order for it to stop existing on this world, she had to disappear, but knowledge that the forbidden knowledge exists is not the problem. does that makes sense ??
