    Dorsey rolled his stake in Twitter into Elon's private Twitter. He's basically placing faith in Elon that he'll improve Twitter enough that in 5 years when he takes it public again Jack and everyone else will secure the bag.

    If businesses / media personalities are on Twitter to promote something, they should pay for it

      It seems that the life of Twitter is coming to an end. Recall in the past, Yahoo took over geocities and tried to make easy money! Finally the free simple geocities was also destroyed. Yahoo CEO Carol Blatz was adamant . Then Microsoft tried to acquire Yahoo for 43 billion dollars, Yahoo did not give in!! But the firm later licked the dust and was sold for 6 billion dollars! Everyone is getting the blue check

  • @NatorDM
    @NatorDM ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s not just $8 for a blue check or any of the front end data stuff. People often forget the backend like server storage. Using someone else like AWS clearly doesn’t work when you want to tweet or say whatever you want. That’s why while it’s easy to scale a company like Twitter as we have seen through Dorsey’s leadership there was never the proper investment into having their own servers so your at the mercy of following someone else’s agenda with their business and all the other companies invested in that business. I’d argue if they just built their own hosting servers from the beginning they probably would never have sold twitter or fired/pressed Dorsey to quit.

    Twitter is no longer free service. It's pay service. LOL.

      I think you forget that most active users are business users. Prove the value proposition and you can charge.

      @@markthomas7279 Still the impression is important! Arthur Haily's book "The Moneychangers" 100s of people opened 5 dollar account in a bank and one day the same guys stood in a queue to withdraw the money! Of course the money of all those accounts together was less than peanuts. But soon the news spread out. Bank did not bother. But the transactions of other serious customers were affected. And the Bank manager got a phone call from one of the big depositors "I want to move my account out! If a common man cannot trust your bank for 5 dollars how I can keep my million dollars there?"

      Easy answer to that!!! We know and you know the reason is defined by the tears and outrage. Only things that matter invoke tears and outrage. Can the tears and outrage be monetised?? Don't know... It needs turned around and new product / inspiration that invoke laughter and happiness too. But if you told me you had a business that could be so compelling to users that people would cry with rage when it changed.... That'd be a business I'd be interested in!!

    Even if a non dollar-denominated asset sees no real gains during inflation that's still much better than holding cash and seeing your real purchasing power undermined. In other words, sometimes you have to chose between the lesser of two evils.

    • @justingregory2965
      @justingregory2965 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Larry. I would rather lose 3% on a stock due to inflation than lose 10% on cash due to the same inflation.

      My primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $300k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I know the risks of short term gains are much greater but if well managed one'd make a killing, am I wrong?

      But you are not a business. Business pays according to value. By the way?? Do pay for anything?? Do you have any subscriptions?? Could any be transferable to another supplier?? Well that would be the basis of the everything X App.

    I was wondering if he was doing a flipperoo on Twitter by making it public again?

  • @markthomas7279
    @markthomas7279 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Of course this is not long term. But he knows the business and has a clear plan in mind that can be delegated to others. That's a long way ahead of Parag, who just turned to politicians for his raison d'etre! Clarity of thought is communicable and scalable. He has that in spades for Twitter. He does not need to dig himself.

    Elon musk doesn’t want to do this long term how does he know what Elon musk wants to do with Twitter. From what I have been seeing he wants to do a complete makeover of Twitter. From hiring his own team to just being his own boss. We all just need to wait and see what happens with the company.
