Lightning Music? I guess if one just says "America", everybody would get confused. Because two continents out of the 7, they share the same last name (that is, "America"). And it is North America and South America. If you want to focus with the United States, you should say "United States of America" (or "U.S.A" for short). If it's one country in the world, it should be stated as "United States". So what Jocelyn Rosales says in her comment, she could be right.
