Thank you kind sir. I'm a jazz head but I always loved to sing and play Bowie. This song can easily impress an audience (no matter how small), even just solo on guitar or piano.
LOTS OF LOVE FOR THIS SONG - it is melancholic but also young and fresh - proven that a man of more than 70 years - can produce something incredibly fresh and young
I agree, but I think that´s why the D. Bowie songs are so interesting. He always try to find inusual chords progressions (like J. Lennon did). Bowie still amazes me. Great tutorial. Thanks for posting.
Thank you very very much, mister. Watching Gerry Leonard singing (sadly alone)loving the Alien, I just have remembered that I forgot. 8 years ago, to say to you « thank you », It’s a great pleasure to « hear » your voice in my head everytime I play « Where are we now ». I wish you the best ! Bye !!! 🇫🇷
Txs for sharing...Bowie songs some times are not that easy to find out just by listening to the records which i do most of the time, so this is very helpful
Thank you Sir... Great song and very nice voice, just in the mood of the song. Gonna take my guitar just right now! PS: you could do a cover of "Forever Young" ;))
Thanks for this and for posting the chords to the rest of the song as you played it. One of the other criteria for me is the effect that is used with those chords. I have an MXR Carbon Copy analog delay and was able to get a fair representation of the effect used on the album. They are lovely chords and that effect just gives it that other dimensional quality. Oh, and nice singing too.
Its allways good news when Bowie comes again with a new record. Im so looking forward to March! Beautil song, lesson AND singing. Its in your plans to release more songs with singing? Also do you like Pink Floyd? I always enjoy playing along your versions with my bass :) Thanks for your version!
they say this is in key of Fm, but some say F major and point out it is not clear, chorus is around C, while verse uses borrowed chords. Bowie is known to spontaneously bang out interesting progressions and I don't thinnk he had a plan to write an F song or Fm song or C song.
Hi Nedding, Yes I'm aware of that mate, but YOUR root in the video is C natural (middle digit 5th string, 3rd fret) or are you playing the 7th in the bass? you know third inversion? Either way it sounds lovely, didn't mean to cause offence, if I did...
Thank you sir! You're basically the coolest person on youtube.
This atually makes me cry when i play :( When i went to Berlin i actually went to all places he talks about in the song.

LOTS OF LOVE FOR THIS SONG - it is melancholic but also young and fresh - proven that a man of more than 70 years - can produce something incredibly fresh and young
I adore this song. I think it's one of my favorites of his now. Great for learning about the different 7th chords.
I agree, but I think that´s why the D. Bowie songs are so interesting. He always try to find inusual chords progressions (like J. Lennon did).
Bowie still amazes me.

Txs for sharing...Bowie songs some times are not that easy to find out just by listening to the records which i do most of the time, so this is very helpful

Beautil song, lesson AND singing.
Its in your plans to release more songs with singing?

I always enjoy playing along your versions with my bass :)

you're right - it is slightly advanced. I think Bowie song are generally quite awkward to play

Thanks for a great lesson! However, I prefer to play the verse like this: Fmaj7, G9, C#, Eb, F, X33433 (no idea what's it called), Bbm, C
The chord sequence in that song are amazing; I'll try yours
Hi Nedding,

Superb
Wonderful! The only thing I grumble about is the hard cut in the end. Ok I got it: As long as there's sun, …
Thanks for your comment
I do have a tendency to cut parts of tunes out to keep them short.
Yes - sometimes simplest is best.
