    That is the great thing about HF, they have their own in store brands, and can pay engineers and designers to come out with some really nice tools. Currently they are making some of the big name brands like Dewalt nervous. Their Hercules line comes to mind. Once I get my garage shop all set up, I am getting rid of my ancient, dinky Black and Decker miter saw and picking up the Hercules Compound Miter Saw. That thing is a beast, and has one of the greatest warranties on the planet. You can use it for up to exactly a year, and if you don't like it for any reason, they will take it back, no questions asked. That is what you call a company that has confidence in their product. Great review, thanks!

    Harbor freight is great. They offer the cheap stuff that you can use on so many things that don’t require loads of torque and then it gradually gets higher in cost and quality for your more heavy mechanical jobs. Quinn and icon can take care of the majority of peoples work

    Those icon wrenches are made by Infar , the very same company that makes the Carlyle wrench and the channel lock wrench, the only designing that Harbor Freight has to do with that wrench is the icon badge

    My biggest sell point to go with Tekton verses Icon was individual wrench sales. If you loose a 10mm (witch happens all the freaking time) You CAN NOT go to Harbor to buy one missing Icon or Pittsburgh wrench. However you can go to Lowes and pick up a missing Kobalt or Online order a missing Tekton. I try to choose my tools by how hard it will be to replace it when it brakes or gets lost or stolen and how long my projects are gonna be on hold while I'm waiting for a tool.

    • @ChadMyers73

      Very good point individual sales is a huge selling factor.

    • @xaphan8581
      @xaphan8581 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bro everyone says this and it’s not true. For warranty’s they give out individual sockets or wrench’s. Say you break a socket and bring it in. They will either give you a brand new single one or they will open a new pack give you the socket out of that one then the rest of that pack is used for warranty reasons. It’s just like every other tool brand that has a lifetime waranty.

    • @donitmyself8935
      @donitmyself8935 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xaphan8581 Bro you don't always break the tool you need to replace(covered under warranty). As I stated "if you loose one piece of a set"(not covered under warranty), You can not BUY single pieces of a set at the Harbor F. This is why I made my choices in tool brands. You, may have other reasons that I would love to hear.

All of which have proven themselves worthy of my time. I own several historical Snap-On, Plovmb, Sk, Craftsman, and other obscure tools like Bonnie and Williams! I would like to see Harbor Freight offer their hand tools in an "open stock" for warranty purposes as well, instead of bringing back a whole set of something for one broken item. I used a 30% off coupon a month ago that HF had for the ICON tools to buy a metric, stubby wrench set. I ping-ponged between the ICON and two other brands. Maybe I won't regret it.

      @@fhbkx the wrench set I haven't even touched but the ratchet and socket set broke in under a month. Started skipping gears then boom completely stuck and I blew out the walls on my 17mm using it on my impact wrench since I was being to lazy to return it that same day but still wanted to finish off a full days work. Now I know they aren't impact rated and that's why they broke but I've used several random sockets on my impact and I've never seen a socket peel away like that. I returned the set and opted for a new push cart instead.

    "Paying for the rest of my life" If you're paying for the rest of your life on a wrench set you have deeper issues with finances. People who complain about that probably own a 50k truck. I have a $800 dollar air compressor, I paid it off quite easy within 4 months. I make 15 dollars and hour with a side hustle. I own both Mac and Snapon with 0 dept at the moment. I buy everything preowned new. I own a Hotrod with 16k worth of parts invested into it.
