  • Most people that stop in Luling fill up with gas and grab some snacks at Buc-ee's on their way to other destinations. Today this town is our primary destination.

My dad’s hometown. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Luling. Spent so many wonderful summers in Luling with my cousins. Swimming in the rivers, enjoying the parks and skating rink. Back in the good ole days when we could walk all over without a care in the world. Luling will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️

Headed that way next week. This will be my second visit - can't wait for some barbecue at Luling City Market. Thanks for the video!

One of our favorite parks. Camped for 4 nights back in 2017. Lots of Texas
history in the area and in the park.

My Mom was born and raised in the area and the City Market has been my favorite BBQ stop for as long as I can remember. Best sausage.

thank you so much for these stories of seemingly 'forgotten' Texas, I am loving them!--I was born in the Panhandle 75 years ago and I have heard of many of these towns, places and have been to some of them--I have lived in Texas, Wyoming, Phoenix and now in NW Arkansas and Texas still has a big place in my heart !!

City market and the old bridge behind Best Western is on my bucket list. The oil museum sound like a must see. Thanks for sharing your tour of Luling, Texas. By the way I live in Seguin just a few miles from Luling. Love to visit that darling little town.

The Mayfield Preserve on West 35th Street in Austin has massive palmettos down by the water of Lake Austin. There are a few dwarf palmettos around town also, usually near water.

The westernmost place that I've seen them is Westcave Preserve near Austin. They said birds had likely dropped seeds into the relatively moist canyon there.

Always enjoy your videos. Find out about places I know so little about. Noticed the delicious Dr Pepper on the table and wondered if you'd been to Dublin and seen the bottling plant there. They said it's the largest collection of Dr Pepper merch in private ownership. Very cool place.

I tried to go to Dublin last year but everything was closed. Old Docs Soda Shop is now permanently closed. In addition, I felt an overall bad vibe there and so I just left.

good old 'corporate' Dr Pepper , some years back sued the Dublin Dr Pepper,,,the oldest bottling plant , and made them stop doing the bottling and all stuff Dr Pepper, and moved the Dr Pepper thing to Waco. really nice of them.

@@tcvideosennistexas I remember that. I've been to Dublin as the Dr Pepper plant and also as Dublin Bottling Works. If DBW is permanently closed then that truly is a sad day.
