I know I've heard the argument before that Samsung foldable hardware might not be the most cutting edge, but you get it for the software... But idk, when a competitor like this is literally 800 dollars or so cheaper, I really don't think software experience alone warrants paying so much more. As long as the software on this thing works decently enough, I think the cheaper price would be worth it.
Yeah you're right. But the issue (in my opinion) with Tecno phones is that they don't give enough software support for their "flagship models" and even other models. Cause 2 years of update for that price($1100) is really not that good. But if you don't care about that then it's an amazing device that I'd recommend to anyone, and you can still decide to stick with the phone after the updates are done cause it's not like a phone becomes useless once it stops receiving software updates!!
The issue with this company? They're not even available in the US market just like so many other companies. We're pretty much stuck with Samsung being complacent when it comes to their design of their folding phones.
I think the reason why Techno or Infinix isn't available in the US is probably because tech giants like Samsung and Apple dominate the US market, and trying to challenge them is almost impossible because of how long they have been selling tech in the US and if either Tecno or Infinix try to challenge them it would require Infinix and Tecno to establish factory's in the US which imo is pretty much impossible because Tecno and Infinix aren't as Rich as Samsung and Apple.

Target market is Asia and Africa. This Fold can compete with Samsung. I've been perusing where to buy one but Google Play isn't included. The Fold 2 Ultimate seems to be a more feasible to purchase.
i actually like what Tecno been doing a couple years back, they are not the same group as Xiaomi BBK, and their lineups arent as confusing as like vivo or oppo, Camon 20 Premier won award for their design 1 year ago
i had a techno phantom 1 very good price nice and all i enjoyed it alot but the battery used to drain alot like 4-5 hours max, and te phone heaetd up like anything. after 4-5 motnhs of use all of sudden the front screen just went blank
tecno phones do have one of the best designs on the market for years at this point, but its a shame they wont keep up with the competition on software support. like, 2 years of updates for a 1100 dollar phone is absolutely wild, we are talking support android phones got 10 years ago and for far less money. i work for a hardware retailer and while we do sell tecno phones, they only make up like 2 3% of the market at most. And i can see that in Europe at least, people would rather buy established brands that offer long term support over trying out some random brand for the same money. What we offer here from Tecno devices, we also have Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi devices for the same money but that get 4+ years of OS support
Transsion which includes Infinix, Tecno, and Itel are the top phone brands for 3rd world countries. They sell phone fits for the majority of low-mid income consumers. Their 200$/budget midrange phones can almost do all including gaming except software support and those phones blows their Xiaomi, Samsung and BBK competitors in the same price range. However, the software support is still a big problem but it did not deter the consumers to buy these phones in my country.
@@justjuniorjaw Honestly, they comprimise the software support for the processors. They have phones that are powered by Dimensity series but their competitors are using Helios but those competitors have longer software support.
He doesn't have that good money he has TH-cam money don't be fooled because this guy needs to have a back-up plan because TH-cam is not going to last forever
One thing I can’t understand…. “let’s make a folding phone and have an absolute mess of a camera system on the back” that’s the worst looking rear camera I’ve ever seen
Nice review , tecno , iTel and Infinix are doing well on most stuff . I chose One plus over them but they're the next Xiaomi's . Even Xiaomi can't compete as much. Their new Redmi 14C still can't spec to buck match iTel RS4 but it's all personal needs + software + bloat. And as for foldables ,I never knew Tecno did there. One plus already settled long ago , so not much to say about it but they're still doing well vs Flagships like Samsung. Personal Choices will still matter , like build quality or Samsung OS experience or apple camera etc.,
@@TechDaily my current phone screen got deadzone so I kinda need a new phone since the repair cost is almost as expensive as buying the phone secondhand 😅
Nice try in the foldable market, but why should someone buy this, if you can buy the galaxy fold 5? The 5 is one year old now, but you can get it new for the same price like this. And the Hardware in the 5 is even to today standards "Superb". So, no... i would rather buy the fold 5 or fold 4. they both are comparable/better than this. AND cheaper or same price.
If it wasn't obvious, 0:17 was a joke 😅

The issue with this company? They're not even available in the US market just like so many other companies. We're pretty much stuck with Samsung being complacent when it comes to their design of their folding phones.
Yeahhhh, the lack of options in the U.S. is becoming a bigger and bigger problem

You have to thank to the American market and the american networks. Keep paying them $60 for what we get in Europa for €10

Yeah, even an extra year would be a HUGE improvement and yet they're shy of making that decision.

Xiaomi is better in every aspect than Infinix, cos I've owned one .
Redmi phone camera quality beats the Infinix one
Should I get this phone or the 16 pro max?

I hate the look of the new android UI
The UI shown here is specifically Tecno's skin for Android. Pixels look totally different, as does Samsung.
I don't like fake leather on phones
It’s a nice phone, however, it’s out of my price range.
