  • Here we have an interview, short performance and rig rundown with Ann Annie. Eli is elusive character behind some beautiful melodic ambient modular synth music and videos. Eli gives us a short performance on his 6U performance rig, talks about his musical background, getting into modular synths and we go through his set up for both recorded and performed modular music.
Here’s my playlist which will include all of my videos from the #Thomann Synth Reactor #TSR19 event. • Thomann Synth Reactor ...
I’d like to thanks the whole team behind the Thomann Synth Reactor event. The studio set ups we could use were amazing and operating by a great bunch of people. They created a great atmosphere for doing ultimately whatever anyone wanted and were very accommodating throughout. Hats off to the team!
Of course check out the other channels/creators involved with the event who have lots of great content coming. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER / Cuckoo / BoBeats / Doctor Mix / DivKid / HAINBACH / Rachel K Collier / Dawless Jammin’ / Simon The Magpie / The Tuesday Night Machines / Ann Annie / Once Upon A Synth / Jakob Haq / PlugInGuru / Molten Music Technology / Accurate Beats / Automatic Gainsay / Noir Et Blanc Vie / SynthMania / Gaz Williams / Multiplier / SoundsAndGear / 8-Bit Keys / VØSNE / Synth Anatomy
The event wouldn’t have happened without Thomann and their sponsors so thanks for the following brands for making it happen too. Korg, Yamaha, Arturia, Behringer, Doepfer, Elektron, Hosa, IK Multimedia, Jomox, Moarienberg Devices, Modal Electronics, Moog, Native Instruments, Nord, Novation, Roland, ROLI, Rob Papen, Shure, Softube, Steinberg, Triad-Orbit, Universal Audio & Waldorf

Thank you Ben and Ann for this Video.A dream has become Reality.I was born in 1966 and grew up with the sounds of all the first
commercially produced Synthesizers.I remember also that i was fascinated by radio transmissions here in germany which werde made
by the experimental studio of the WDR here in cologne. These programs were very rare seeded.
A modular was far beyond to be called affordable but now it is possible for everyone to enter this wonderful world.
I appreciate also the work of the undervalued Radiophonic Workshop which despite of the lack of modular Synthesizers
at that time already produced a lot of great stuff only with the use of tape machines, slicing tape and the slowdown or speedingup
    the machines(thank you Delia).
The Synthesizer Community and especially the modular synthesizer community is extremely open and tolerant .
It is an example how the focus on creativity with passion can pass any differences between peoples and cultures.
Peter from the the Black Forest,Germany

This was excellent. Very interesting conversation by two people who clearly knew what they were talking about! And regarding a comment near the end there, I just wanted to say that I play piano along with bizarre modular patches pretty often. Nowadays modular kind of feels like work that I have to put in, so getting back to the ol black & whites is a kind of escape / relaxation mechanism. So even if it doesn't seem to make sense to accompany a bizarre patch with a grand piano voice, I do it anyway cuz it feels good to me. I generally record everything I do in my studio, even (especially) these "start playing piano and suddenly it's an hour later and you've somehow recorded over a gig of continuous piano alongside a weird modular patch that became maddeningly repetitive about 30 minutes ago" jams, and I almost always seem to find at least a couple of sections of beauty and wonder when I listen to the results later.
