I have watched all of your videos from the first. Being half Swedish 🇸🇪 I had always thought I should explore the land of my ancestors and have made multiple trips over the years. This brought back memories of my first trip to the west coast a good 25 years ago. I always tell fellow Americans Sweden and Norway are the best kept secrets in Europe. Look forward the Norway 🇳🇴.
This summer was unusually cold in July. But sailing in shorts and t-shirt is a rare experience in Sweden. Many boats, mine included, have a cockpit-enclosure to fend off the chilly wind in summer evenings. That way you can still enjoy the view. Nice video!
Thank you! Yes, we can see how a full cockpit enclosure would be a huge benefit. Our home waters are along the coast in Maine and that is also a chilly area in which to sail so we didn’t mind it at all!
I have followed your channel for some time now and observed that your storytelling skills have developed significantly. You deserve far more subscribers, but TH-cam algorithms do not pick up quality content. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to your Norway episodes. Cheers.❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment. We have gotten a bit more traction recently and are hoping this propels us some. We appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love the video! So nice to see you enjoyed sailing my home waters even tho the weather wasn't that great. July last summer was unfortunately one of the coldest ones in recent history on the west coast... In a normal summer you can often sit in your T-shirt even at 8-9pm on a July night when the sun is out. What you really learn as a boater/ sailor in Sweden is to never anchor at the windward side of an island even in very light winds that wouldn't effect the boat. Luckily our archipelago pretty much always offer some place to tuck in where it's dead calm with zero wind. Provided you have a stern anchor.
Glad you liked the video - thanks for watching. If we stayed in Swedish or Finnish waters long, we would have rigged up a better stern anchor! We were very lucky the summer before when we were on the east coast, the weather was incredible for weeks on end.
Nice! Hope you feel inspired to return to the west coast of Sweden. Perhaps a bit biased, but the really beatutiful archipelago starts just north of Gullholmen. Welcome back!

Thank you so much for watching and for the comment. I am happy this brought back memories - this is a wonderful part of the globe, for sure!

We know we missed some special spots! I guess we will have to return.
I live here😊
Well you are very lucky indeed!! That was such a wonderful area to explore.
Scandinavian mooring.
Yup - always impressive to see Scandinavian sailors get so close to the rocks!
