My 1951 was having scary issues. I had hang fires and ejection Issues. Sometimes the slide doesn't go all the way back but sometimes the slide locks in open between shots. Im honestly too afraid to shoot it

i tried your method , worked out really good, i used flitz polish, brings back the shine on the grips
I just bought one of these for 350 at a Gun Show, a little better condition. Shoots great and accurate.

I think I'd sand the bottom of the site and add some epoxy..Then sand it to fit snug..That way there's no permeant changes..
J&G just reduced the prices on these..Makes them more attractive for a budget buyer..
