hello i would like to say i meant train tracks in video games!!!! (life is strange, be gay do crime reference) please DO NOT go on real life tracks, they are electrified and also trains are huge pieces of metal hurtling at high speeds. i did not mean to actually encourage that so just be safe and don’t actually do crime
That's exactly what I was thinking. Like I when I saw that the Prescotts are a rich family who basically own a town and there is a price family, I immediately thought of Life Is Strange :)
Totally Colorado. I grew up in a Colorado mountain town near some of the old mining ghost towns. We didn't have a pier with amusement parks. We could only go up into the mountains or to the reservoirs and get into trouble. The downtown looks exactly like a touristy mountain town. When I saw the areas for the teens to hang out I thought how much this looked like home. I wasn't going to get this pack because I am older and not interested in high school at all. But the world and the lore sold me.
I think wanting to be able to have a highschool in oasis springs for example doesn't mean that there have to be two highschools, they could have set it so that you can only have one highschool lot per save. I think it can totally kill the vibe when you play a family in a very different looking environment and every morning to afternoon they are suddenly in the woods >.< I think that's quite sad because it would have allowed for more story immersion or even cultural representation. with the way the structured this world and locked the lot types, it makes sense why they didn't allow for it. have you seen/heard that mollie is also a lesbian? :D I love that haha
We’ve gotten all of these Granite Falls type worlds (mountain/hills/forest vibe) so hopefully we get residential worlds similar to Selvadorada now. Someone please release the sims team from the shackles of formerly industrialized towns! I like them, I’ve lived in a few, but it’s not all that’s out there.
I really like how fleshed out the world is with interactive items. Super appreciating the pier rabbit holes, swimming and picnic areas, and even chess tables.
i don't really care about not being able to build auditoriums but i would have absolutely loved the opportunity to build more high schools across the worlds. it's just not realistic for there to be one school, since kids usually go to school in their own towns. having only one university world with the two uni's makes sense because you usually move away for uni or commute. i enjoyed the idea of building a high school in like oasis springs or mt komorebi lmao
It might not be realistic but it's more practical for the game, in my opinion. Having a high school in multiple worlds would mean that each school would get at most 2-3 students at a time unless you manually add more families. With one school for everyone, you can at least fill up the building more, make it look more lived in, and meet more sims. Also, since it wouldn't make sense otherwise, you'd have to place an auditorium with each school as well, which now takes two lot spaces from each world. So, it becomes pretty impractical for smaller worlds and makes less space for more families with teens. I do, however, think it would've been cool to have the option of being able to assign the high school lot to whatever world you wanted while keeping the one school per save limit.
@@bpsara Yeah I totally agree and understand that… Just one of those things that I wish was different despite the issues we could face 😂 I have a LOT of families and teens across my main save, more than seats available in that school 😂 I just think it takes the immersive essence away when a sim from Mt Komorebi or San Myshuno is going to high school in a completely different world
Here's to hoping they'll add more trailer sims to the gallery. I would love to have Kevin's love interest in my game. We got pretty much all of the trailer sims from Werewolves, so maybe the trend will continue?
I don't know why the rabbit hole cinema stuck out to me, but yesss that would have been so cool as another little activity for the sims! Think of the little movie nights out with friends, away from the kids, etc, so cute!
I can't believe they made a sim named Molly and made her a blonde lesbian with glasses 😃 I think Rival is someone within your team you feel you need to compete with for some reason.
About the cinema! If they made it a rabbit hole with just “Watch a movie” orWatch a movie with” BUT if you have Movie Hangout it let’s you pick from the different movies brought in with the back .. therefore encouraging people to buy that pack if they haven’t already. All the same buffs hit you get them on leaving the rabbit hole.
I lowkey feel for the team because ts3 did this and folks would always drag it for all the rabbitholes. Now they just don’t give them and we would rather have at least rabbitholes
Thanks for the overview! Shame you can't build schools in other worlds, really disappointing :(. Guess I'll have convert some lots into boarding houses for my teens then! Looking forward to more early access content, keep up the great videos :).
I don't mind HS being tied to one place. since it's a special neighborhood I assume the limit of max 20 sims in and around it will be used for mostly students/teens and staff. In a regular neighborhood, I think more of those slots would be used for "walk-bys" and not students/teens. After a while most of us will probably use the high school (regardless if it could be in other worlds) as much as the active careers. To imerse it more for my personal gameplay, I'm gonna think of going with the teens as them being exchange students.
Does anyone know if any additional Maxis made Sims come in the gallery with the pack which you can then place in houses how you wish like past packs? There was such a cute Sim in the High School trailer and if she’s not available to play I’m going to be so sad 🥺
LOL Molly this is such a small question but I've been seeing some Vending Machines on the side of some of the shell buildings in the routable areas in Prescott Square and Plumbite Cove and I was just wondering if our Sims can actually get snacks from them or not? Please let the answer be yes 😭
@@EnglishSimmer thank god the ones that are already in the world actually function lol I was really hoping that they'd actually function like the ones in Mt. Komorebi do! That's such good news for my Sims who will end up wanting a midnight snack XD tysm for the quick answer Molly!
Hmm.. it might be possible to change the look and stufff in cas of the pricipal and the teachers so that they suit your story/style/vision. It is not exactly like creating you own, I don't think you could play them... but it might be enough to personalise the world a tiny bit. I did this with the sages in Realm of magic.
I’ve been out of high school for a year, and this pack (and other high school things in media) are very unrelatable. I don’t think school has changed that much in a year. Maybe it’s because I went to a Catholic school. I just kinda wish they went for a timeless stereotypical high school feel, rather than specifically early 2020’s high school
I'm sure a lot of people can't relate to Catholic school in any decade lol People were super excited for proms in Sims 3 but that was something I couldn't relate to because we don't do proms in my country. People were excited to have them this time around too and same deal. And same thing with University stuff, we don't have frat culture so I have to appreciate elements like that through the lens of stuff I saw on TV. It's fine I just pretend its how sims world does things. Things like the T-pose Challenge help because T-posing is a very specific Sims term and theres a few new things we're getting that suggest they're almost kind of aware of their simulated existence lol
I mean, you gotta sell the game to your target demographic, and The Sims’ target demographic has always been teenagers. They need to relate to that audience, and I do believe this is a pretty relatable experience for most. I’m saying most, because nothing will be relatable to all. I personally like how all The Sims games are basically time capsules. I love going back to 2 or 3 and indulge myself in pop culture and lifestyles from their respective times :)
I agree that in a few years time some of the things in this pack are going to feel outdated (depop, some of the aesthetics mentioned, etc) however by then sims 5 will be out anyway so it's not a big deal. Plus like someone else said the game acts as a time capsule when it throws in modern references. But as someone who also went to Catholic school albeit almost a decade ago, this just seems like normal high school stuff. CAS does have new private school uniforms and someone on the gallery will most likely make a Catholic school so it should be pretty easy to convert Copperdale into one.
As someone who's been out of high school for 10 years and isn't American, the school experience in the pack feels to me like a timeless american tv/movie high school experience, which is imo a well chosen common denominator for such an international player base. Otherwise it would've been too complicated to make it relatable for everyone. Schools can get very specifically different even at a national level (public, private, boarding, religious, same-gendered, etc), let alone an international one! The boba and thrifting stuff is very recent, sure, but it's also something that's constantly evolving! Before boba, it was smoothies. Before smoothies, it was milkshakes at a diner. Also, social media has been a teen thing for over 20 years now! Which makes it a modern type of timeless (like ahving a cell phone). IMO, no matter what outside of school activities they chose, it was going to be dated. So, it makes sense they used trendy activities because 1) it's relatable to teens playing the game and 2) teens tend to be focused on what's popular currently, so of course teen sims should be into that as well.
I've been out of school for 10 years now (public school, small town) but this is very much the same of how my school was. I will say we didn't have certain clubs, or promposals (though some people did them.) I think the media always portrays school experiences as being unrealistic, but this one feels pretty close. Besides streaming, I'd say that's a lot newer than when I went to school.
yes, if you want to actively go with them to high school, it will always be in this world. if you don't want to go with to do that and keep school as a rabbit hole like it has always been, you can still pretend it's somewhere else at least :D but I haven't found out yet if that means that they won't have prom then 🤔
A bit sad you can't make schools in different worlds. Would love to be able to make multiple schools with different vibes to reflect the neighborhood culture

This is definitely life is strange with Prescott (Nathan) and Price (Chloe) households and how the prescotts pretty much own the town in both
yes!!! it’s also a mining town like in true colors
That's exactly what I was thinking. Like I when I saw that the Prescotts are a rich family who basically own a town and there is a price family, I immediately thought of Life Is Strange :)

We've got Prescot's *and* Price's? Do we also have a Caufield family? What about the Amber's?
that's what i was thinking and i got so happy for no reason 😭

my pinky wants to go up too often but i think it's the spongebob in me lol
cant waitt for this pack
My main concern was if we could make the school not look awful so this saved me a heart attack
Tbh the school that comes with the world looks fine. It’s not super decorated, but it does the job
I saw the game play I can't wait
came immediately after the stream lol
Hopefully a modder can give us the ability to make us make more than one highschool.
Teacher in real life. That is how the classrooms look in the summer or you move into a new room

they usually just upload their trailer sims to their gallery so you can download them ☺️
Why are all of the unoccupied lots always so small? I hate having to move out an in-game family to be able to play on a decently sized lot.

will be on the gallery said one of the gurus on twitter
