Royal Enfield Meteor 350: From The Eyes Of A Honda Highness CB350 Owner

- "Hey Abhinav, when are you riding the Royal Enfield Meteor 350? When are you comparing the Meteor 350 with the Honda Highness CB350?"
Questions that have been posed to me dozens of times since the Meteor 350 was launched on November 6.
And so, my quest to get my hands on a Royal Enfield Meteor 350, took me all the way to Patiala in Punjab, some 270 km from my home town, New Delhi.
My good friend Jaideep Singh Chahal AKA Boss Man, runs a few Royal Enfield dealerships in Punjab. He happily offered me one of his demo Meteor 350 to take to Delhi for a week and test ride to my heart's content.
Jaideep is a proper proper automotive enthusiast who specialises in restoring vintage vehicles - be it cars or motorcycles. He is soon going to start work on the Harley Davidson Fatboy that was parked on the bed of his Isuzu V Cross. You can follow his updates here: / lowratio4wd

I plan to do a series of videos on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 - I have been given the top of the range bike, the Supernova. The windscreen is missing from this bike as it is yet to reach dealership.
The videos will also include a comparison with the Honda Highness CB350 from a user's perspective. This series will not be about 0-100 timings, not about the top speed, but information that you as a rider will find helpful.
And, I would like to apologise for the abrupt ending of this video. My GoPros froze on me. I had an amazing ride on this amazing motorcycle, but all those observations will have to be recorded again and will be shared in another video.

@@abhinavbhatt Hey indian friends, how is Royal Enfield confiability/durability in India? Over here in Brazil both Bullets 500 and Classics 500 have been presenting preety bad construction issues, being the worse engine pistons breaking. Hymalaian dashboard crumbles on the inside with vapor, and now the Twins are having start/ignition issues. All the models sold here in Brazil are made in India.
@@Ainnem same over here brother. R.E is not very reliable. Though they have upgraded the engine refinement but the reliability remains the same.

I have heard a lot about the poor RE after sale service.. hope they improve in that area.
@@raghavbhavsar828 kind of. But R.E after sales service is not very reliable. They hire any mechanic that's easily available and give them a 2-3 days training at some other dealership and that's it. At least this happened in my area. Don't know about your region. But the Meteor looked amazing and it didn't have any vibration issue when I visited showroom. So as of now you don't need to worry.
Spoke to one of the sales guy at andheri bigwing showroom for the cb350. I mentioned to him of your reviews and you know what he said. Abhinav's videos has sent us a lot of customers.
You need to be the brand ambassador for CB350

I am not a 'Royal Enfield' type of bike guy. But I am convinced to buy the Honda CB 350. Reminds us of childhood classic Honda bikes.
The early morning ambiance of Patiala was something we bikers love and look forward to. It was fun to watch. The RE Meteor is indeed a surprise package which maybe even Honda did not see coming. The Meteor has a 2.0 USB port under the left hand switch which probably could charge your GoPro if you had the given cable.

Abhinav bro.. Even though I wanted to buy the Hness, I ended up booking the Meteor. I didn't get a chance to test ride Honda, but I did a test ride on Meteor. And I really liked it. And this would be my first Royal Enfield. Shifting from a Pulsar 150 which I was using from 2008.
@v p no doubt about it. Performance, reliability and refinement is the best with Honda.

As it's honda so quality will be top notch. You'll only need to fill fuel and get it serviced and it'll work for 1 lakh miles before breaking down...Or even more

Honda may have done everything better and they may be much more reliable, but if I would have to put my money in then the choice will be RE Meteor.

well, to me the CB is just a soul less product that was made just to cash in on the success of RE's 350 segment, therefore the name Highness. So it all depends on the way u look at it.

@@yashrajverma2170 bro its a replacement for thunderbird X , because of triumph Thunderbird they can't name that on international market so.... They changed name to meteor ! Meteor is completely different in terms of engine and chassis
Hey Abhinav, really nice video! I like the thoroughness with which you review each component and aspect of the bikes.
I had a question I wanted to ask; I wanted to purchase a classic 350 type of a bike, hence after watching your video on the CB 350, i decided to go and book it at the Gurgaon showroom. I am 6'5 in height and the only reason I chose CB 350 over the Meteor 350 is due to the low seat height in the latter, and how I suppose that would cause a blood flow cut-off in my legs after riding it for a bit. Do you think I made the right call?
I can't really say since I am not that tall. You must test ride both for a long duration. Only then will things be clear. There is no other way to tell.
@@abhinavbhatt I am still learning how to ride a bike, hence I could not really take a test ride myself and gauge the bike on my own. A friend of mine who has experience with bikes came along with me when I went to look at the CB. All I was able to do on my own was sit on the bike and get a feel for the posture itself. Anyway, thanks a lot for the response, I hope the CB works out in my favour :P
Please review 20 mm lower saddle accessory. How does it look and feel on riding with that.
