Great to see Essex as tourist spot for rail journies....nice layout, perhaps some rubbish laying around like old sleepers, rolls of cables, tubes etc that you' would normally find around old sidings?
Thanks, yes it may be hard to believe but there are some nice places in Essex. Good idea about rubbish, sleepers etc or should it be discarded stilettos being Essex 😂
Thank you for the feedback. Being new to model railways and making You Tube videos, it’s difficult to know whether what I am making is any good or worth filming, so it’s nice to know they are watchable. Cheers Mark
Thanks. Still lots to do and now the sun is out it’s a bit hot in the railway room so not done much in the last few weeks. Just waiting for it to cool down. Thanks for watching
Thanks, the underside looks like tarmac because of the bitumen , it’s easy to cut and glue down. I have been following your channel. It’s been very helpful. I have just ordered a block signalling DC shuttle, as I fancy trying that next.
Stumbled upon your channel and so glad I did. This is a great goods area, nice and busy, love the idea of the cafe too. Looking forward to now watching your other videos, cheers. 👍👍
Great video and a great series so far Mark , well presented and very informative never apologise Mark can you do a 24hr video I could watch these railway videos all day . Truly well done .
Hi Mark. For someone who has been modelling for a relatively short time, you have made great strides forward. All modellers make mistakes and learn from them. Woe betide a modeller who thinks he has nothing more to learn!
Thanks Paul, I couldn’t have done it without You Tube and Facebook. There are some many good modelers out there sharing how they do it and willing to give advice. One of the reasons I started my channel, hopefully to help other newbies. Everyday is a school day in modeling 👍
Hi Mark, still playing catch up but just had to say what a great video. You really do have a talent for the scenery. I've yet to see the rest of your video's and get up to date but i really would recommend a static grass applicator - i have the WWS one and bought a starter kit that was on offer. You'd be surprised the difference it could make. Brilliant stuff that will only get better with time and experience! Great job...
Thanks Mike, I am still very much a novice but enjoying the challenge of trying to make things realistic. I was thinking about getting a static grass applicator because I will have to grass the hill and over the tunnel near the viaduct and I want it to look good, so thanks for the recommendation and for watching.
@@chappelstation no problem. Check their website and YT channel as they have some good tutorials. Personally I think it’s worth the investment. I tried a cheaper version and for me it was just rubbish. Bought one of these and never looked back. I guess you get what you pay for. Only my personal opinion - each to their own. Good stuff mate, look forward to catching up to date…
Really good use of a fairly small station area. I think the road beyond the bridge disappears nicely behind a tree, not seeming to just hit the wall. Could I ask what the station building is made from? Cardboard kit? Looking forward to the next episode.
Many thanks, I worked quite hard to make the road disappear, Bit of a shame I hid it so well. The station was a fordhampton kit here a link to it www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/gaugemaster-gm401.html thanks for watching
@@chappelstation Well the 'disappearing road' is something to admire. If I had to criticize, it'd be the cattle dock. Needs more cowpats! Keep up the good work. Your videos are giving me great inspiration.
Absolutely fantastic. Length of video is great. Enjoyed watching the progress.keep up the good work
Thanks Les, I need to get back to model making instead of just playing trains!

Roofing felt for the road is a good idea I might try that. Layout looking really good.
