    #sewing #howtosew #sewingtutorial
    Hi Everyone and Welcome Back To My Bucolic Life Channel. Meet my new sewing tutorial.
    Today I have made a lovely wrap style blouse with a soft ruffle around the neckline. I made it out of a typically ill-behaved, but lovely draped rayon fabric. I am introducing the use of a light fusible tricot tape to help manage the rayon's rebel ways and other tips on pucker free hemming of a circle shape and such. After the blouse was completed and the camera shut off, I decided that this pattern could very easily be transformed into a dress or glorious dressing gown by extending the length, so that may be on my future to-sew list. I hope you like it!
    ~Marie

    Hi Marie, thanks for another great tutorial. I think the blouse looks so lovely made in the rayon, and much nicer than the example on the packet, because of the drape. I would definitely consider making this pattern now, whereas before I sort of passed it by. Thanks so much for all your tutorials - I learn so much from every single one that it would take a while to list all those amazing tips here, just wanted to say that its so appreciated.Also, very cool music 💚

    I loved every minute of this - but was extra-tickled at the beautiful iris at the start and lovely little song at the end - perfect "headers and footers" for the main action in the middle. :-)

    Beautiful blouse Marie. I agree, working with rayon can be challenging but the comfort and drape is well worth it. I sometimes use light spray starch ( testing first), and that helps a lot to structure and manage the fabric. Thank you for all the detailed instructions.

      Great idea on the starch. I use it alot on lace but had not thought about it for rayon. Thank you!

    This blouse is beautiful on you, and I learned so much ~ AGAIN! Thank you! Love the turning apparatus, but I loved learning you have a musical daughter and your parents still! How wonderful! ... I lost both parents while still young, sadly, so I enjoy everyone else’s even more.. My sewing machine is also German! It’s a Singer 316G, bought while my parents lived in Germany in the mid 50’s, from a man toting it around on a tiny moped! Lol. It weighs a ton, and it would be one of the first things out the door if I had a fire.. lol. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your day, and loved ones. 🌿🧡🌿

    Love the blouse! I will make this pattern. Your instructions are very clear. I suggest trying elastic bobbin and sewing rows on the sleeve hem. It makes a soft stretchy area. That old fashioned bias tape casing looks like it adds bulk not that the public sees it but it gives a "home made" look to the garment. Thank you!

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I do like that shirred look the elastic bobbin gives. Next time for sure!

    Hi, I love how you teach us your technique in sewing. I am trying to sew Butterick 6767. I have a few questions about adjusting the pattern tissue. I am 70 yrs old and some things have gone south like my apex. any ideal on how to lower that area. my high is 38 inches so I cut out a 16 which is good at the shoulders but the center front is 1inch from my center of my chest. I would be so great ful for any help, I loved how the blouse looked on you. God Bless Wanda

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Wanda, thankfully this pattern is loose enough that at least for my opinion you shouldn't have to lower the Apex. However I would hold off on putting any buttons or buttonholes on until after you've had a chance to try it on, and base where it overlaps on your body and not on the pattern placement. I do have another video that shows a basic method for lowering a bust Apex, but again for this pattern I found it it has a lot of ease. I hope that helps

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Stay stitching would work to prevent stretching also. I think that they actually only called for stitching the neckline. The tape is just easy to put in other places too
