- In the lush forests that line the shores of Lake Maninjao in Indonesia, countless coconut trees thrive. Burhan, the expert in the art of monkey training, takes in Bobo, a newcomer warmly welcomed by his wife, Raïna. Burhan's goal is to educate Bobo in the art of harvesting coconuts.

Bobo gets lots of love, does work to keep her happy. They are very smart and they have to keep busy and learning. Know that she is loved. Soon he won't need a leash because he will be her whole world. He is sad, he needs another monkey. Or bobo back. At least she came to her senses

This is my village. The shore of the lake is no longer as beautiful as in this film. There are too many fishing nets placed on the edge of the lake. But the beauty of the lake, coconut trees, rice fields and surrounding hills is still beautiful. 2 of my cousins still live in the village on the edge of the lake. Miss the tranquility of the villages sorround this lake.
Are the monkeys still picking coconuts. I hope so!
@DrDrewable there are still lots of them, I like to see their action of picking coconuts, there are even monkeys who are good at teasing people, they lean on people with their buttocks and stick out their tongues

Negri pahlawan. Minang adalah suku yang paling berpengaruh di asia tenggara karena ke intelektualan nya, bahkan ada 5 negara yg pernah di dirikan/pimpin orang minang: malaysia,indonsia,brunei,singapura, dan philipina.
Ga tau ini dokumetar kapan di buat, tapi saya merasakan daerahnya sangat alami , asri dan indah, tidak ada sampah plastik, apakah kondisi syuting dulu sama dengan sekarang daerah sana ?
@@karmabali7361 insyaAllah masih sama asri karena mayoritas jiwa orang minang cinta kebersihan, minimal setiap 1 pemukiman, mereka secara tidak langsung menentukan 1 tempat sampah umum sementara, lalu bisa di bakar atau daur ulang, matanya gatal liat sampah di sekitar pekarangan rumah, hobinya nyapu pake lidi/ijuk : "kebersihan sebagian dari iman", sedangkan moto suku minang: "adat berdasarkan syariat islam, syariat islam berdasarkan Alqur'an" jadi tuntunan jalan hidup sehari-harinya tudak jauh dari kebanyakan muslim taat.

As Westerners we really have no right telling them how to live. Instead of judging them, we should be learning from them bcuz their happiness is in their simplicity. I do not care for Macaques at all, but in this context, I was happy to see the man and Bobo reunited to pick coconuts together. It was kind of the wife to forego buying a buffalo, in order ro reclaim the monkey for her husband. It was a very nice short story, that packed much emotion into a short space.

I belong to the Jambak clan though, because Minang is a matrilineal society, children follow the mother's blood line. The communal land and the traditional houses also owned collectively by the women of the clan 👍
