It's refreshing to see a rock star who portrays himself as a wholesome family man actually be a wholesome family man. The fact that he's also an outstanding songwriter, singer, and guitarist is just the icing on the icing, if you get what I'm saying.
Creed was my first two concerts and I was fortunate enough to go backstage both times and meet Mark (2002-2003). I’ve always felt he’s a musician that truly grows as the years pass. An incredible person and artist!
Got the chance to meet Mark, Myles, Brian and Scott a few years ago and they are all super nice guys as well. My father had just passed away a cpl months before and I shared that and how much "In Loving Memory" meant after that and Mark passed along his and the bands condolances to my family and my mom as well. He also shared how much things are going to change like holidays and birthdays without him but they get easier after time. Myles reiterated the condolences as well.
This man has had quite the career and is so talented!!! .. Creed, Alter Bridge, Tremonti... All rock but still all had their different sounds ... Love Dust from Tremonti that's my all time favorite song of his but he has many great hits. I'm also fascinated when you hear rock artists speak of what they listen to or took inspiration from and sometimes their answers are way off what I would have guessed.
Tremendous, clever composer, excellent guitarist, full range vocals...seriously, one of the Top musicians on the planet. The only thing left to wonder is why would you not listen and enjoy. Thanks Mark - I listen to your music often, especially when in need of positive reinforcement!!! All the Best...
Such a humble Human. For being a living legend. Thankyou for all the fantastic Art you have produced the last 2 decades. By far my favorite musician. Thankyou for this interview.
Can't wait to see this. There's a video of Mark singing 'Prayer' by Myles Kennedy's old friend Ian Thornley out there. It's all six degrees of separation though isn't it!
An immensely talented and super nice guy. His voice has matured and grown so nicely since the first Tremonti record. His and Myles voices mix so well in Alter Bridge too. The bridge in Peace is Broken is a joy to listen to.
I met Mark Tremonti in 2012 when Creed played two nights at the venue where I worked. I went to the catering room for lunch and he was the *only* person in there. I don't get starstruck easily, but OMG, he's one of my favs!! 🤩🎸 I played it cool and said, "Hey, Mark!" like I knew him. Later, I met his guitar tech, who introduced me to Mark - I told him I like Creed, but really LOVE Alter Bridge! He chuckled and was super nice. I got to watch the show on his side of the stage. Epic memory!
I ALWAYS HAD RESPECT FOR MARK AS A ROCKER BUT NOW.....A NEW FOUND RESPECT FOR HIM AS AN ALL AROUND ARTIST AND FAMILY MAN !!! GREAT INTERVIEW ELIZABETH !!!
Great interview. The more I hear Mark speak about his passions the more you appreciate the immense body of work he has put together. Great work on this interview.
HEY MArk .. Saw you two times with your great Band .. love Alter Bride they're so full of energy and strenght .. lovet the shows every bit ... Thank you Elizabeth for the interview ..
Thank you Elizabeth for having the Alter Bridge guys... i love the approach those guys have for their craft and i am always interested on every venue they approach, just for the work they put into their stuff. Really thank you Elizabeth!
Thank you for this! God bless and Merry Christmas!!! Years of trying, flooding your comments with "get Mark Tremonti on", lol! I PROMISED he would NOT disappoint!
Mark is my hero. I wouldn't be the guitarist I am today if it weren't for Mark. I remember when I was 13, with my first guitar... sitting in my room after school learning creed songs. To this day, I am heavily inspired by Marks work in Creed, Alter Bridge, and especially Tremonti. I listen back to some of my old band's recordings, and you can definitely tell I was heavily inspired by Mark. Thank you for doing this interview!!
I just listened to Mark Tremonti's version of the Frank Sinatra songs he sung on his album. My god what a pleasure this guy is to hear him saying Frank Sinatra. It was so well done. From top to bottom every song that he sang doing a Frank Sinatra cover song was spot on. I had no idea that he could do something like this. Elizabeth. I now have him on my Spotify library so I can hear more of this great talent that you interviewed.. I also listened to his Christmas album. My god that is some of the best Christmas songs I've ever heard. Sung by performer. This guy's the real deal. It sounded so clean and crisp and refreshing. Absolutely astonishing singer this guy is
My favorite guitar player. An absolute monster player and maybe even better composer. Met him a few years ago at a guitar clinic before and AB show and he couldn’t have been cooler. They say never meet your heroes, but he def an exception
I truly think Mark is one of the greatest musical minds of my lifetime. How many successful projects can this guy have under his belt? And, he’s about as humble as can be. Love this guy.
I am just seeing this now and oh my, I love this!!! Just sampled the songs on his Christmas album and wow! Just love that he kept it classic and such an amazing voice!!! Love his versatility with his voice and music styles.
I can't wait to watch this! Mark Tremonti is one of my favorite guitarists. I've been down a rabbit hole for 2 days listening to him sing Frank Sinatra songs to Christmas songs to his solo work. Amazingly talented!
i COULDNT IMAGINE NOT EVER HEARING MARK'S VOICE !!!! That makes me incredible sad to even go there - so happy he came to find his voice and not only sing but EXCEL at singing !!!! I truly think he could carry an AB album w how strong his voice is now ❤❤❤❤❤❤ What a wonderful interview Elizabeth so happy for you !! In the times I've met him he has always been so warm and open to talking w us, so appreciate him !!! Other guitarists - Guthrie Govan, Andy Timmons, Plini to name a few
My huge inspiration to approaching my guitar playing and singing is that man right there. Mark Tremonti (Tremonster) Saw Alter Bridge back in January in Atlanta GA, and it was killer. Thanks you two.
Thank You Elizabeth! Amazing interview! I love to sing but I only ever sang at Karaoke. I never sang in my own voice, I was a mimic, I would sing EXACTLY like the person I was doing a song of. Many people thought they were hearing the actual artist, and my Karaoke DJ would have to tell them, No... That's actually Gary singing. I miss those days. I love surprising people, when I sing. Cause when they hear me talk, they usually think there is NO WAY I can actually sing... Then I'd completely shock them. 😊
Is there anything Mark Tremonti touches musically, that doesn't turn to gold?! He's one of my favorite people! Listening to him talk makes me admire him!
Tremonster! This guy is an amazing guitar player for sure, but also a killer lyricist and singer as well. Even with his lack of confidence! Luckily, I’ve seen Him several times with Creed, AB and his own band Tremonti, and each time, it was a blast. Seriously! This guy is also really kind and… respectful with his fans… a hero. Really.
Jeff Beck's song Nadia is a perfect example of Jeff making a guitar do pretty much whatever he asks of it. Great Interview Elizabeth. Lastly That song with Uli is Sails of Charon from MusikladenTv. One of the finest performances ever.
Love Mark! His SOLO music is AMAZING!!! Like really, you all need to listen to his SOLO projects!! Met him after a show in 2018. He and his bandmates all signed my tshirt. Very cool people!!
Yes! Very excited for this conversation! Mark's been a huge influence on me not only as a guitarist but now a vocalist and singer. Greetings and Merry Christmas from Bangor Maine! 🧑🎄🤘😎
I have been tuning in for a while but have never had a suggestion. I thought Scott Weiland's live performance of "Have Yourselfa Merry little Xmas" would be alot of fun to see and I think you would enjoy it! Merry Christmas!!!
Mark is one of the most all-around talented musicians in history. So underrated. Love that he has found his "voice" He and Myles are a perfect team. everything he touches is 100% gold and the fact that he is an amazing person on top of all that is admirable and gives me renewed hope in humanity. I am a fan forever.
If you want a journey, listen to Radical Change, Take You With Me, then listen to Loving Memory (that he wrote for his Mother) then finish with his Sinatra and Christmas music RANGE!
I'm a huge fan of Mark's going back to his days at FSU. Watching Creed go from a local band to a top-selling national act was amazing. I also got to meet him once when my wife worked at WJRR and he was incredibly kind. One of my favorite guitarists.
Tremonti is my all-time favorite guitarist/musician since many many years and always joy to see him❤ But now a question: What You think about the Stryper's singer? For example: Stryper - Transgressor. At the end i got goose bumps even on my back!
I have enjoyed many of your reaction and analysis videos and some of your interview videos over the past year or so and to be honest this one by far was my absolute favorite. Mark just seems to be such a good, decent guy and you could tell how excited he was to sit for 2 hours and have a conversation with you. Mark's answers seemed thoughtful and complete which made it easy to see how much he was interested in talking with you. He would just start talking and continue on until his thought was complete and you were gracious enough to allow him to get all of his words out which allowed for one of the best Tremonti interviews ive ever eeen. ( It really seemed like he would accept your help with lessons on his falsetto, you should contact him about it if you think you could help him more than you did) My wife and i did a meet and greet with Mark in Atlantic City this past Friday evening before his Sinatra show at the borgata. I wish I had seen this interview prior because I definitely would have talked to Mark about it during our conversation. It truly was that good. And you did an excellent job with editing this interview by piecing in the different clips of bands and people that you and Mark were talking about as well as clips from his work that you were discussing. It truly was a great freaking video. Best of luck with all you do Elizabeth, thank you for this awesome interview.
I’m 55 and have a pretty eclectic taste in music, and in my late 20s and my 30s I listened to Creed and Alter Bridge a lot. I’ve never dived into the members so I never knew Mark was a part of both bands. I saw this interview was over 2 hrs long and never thought I’d watch the entire thing, but I’m glad I did. I’m definitely going to check out this Christmas album. He’s close to my age so it’s great hearing how his favorite holiday shows were the Rankin/Bass specials that I grew up on living in Louisiana as a kid in the 70s. I don’t have any kids myself, but if I did, I would want them to experience the same magical atmosphere at Christmas time that I did for as long as possible. Probably a lot harder to make it last these days compared to the pre-internet time I grew up in. Great interview Elizabeth! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.
I got to see Alter Bridge in Baltimore and Miles was sick and even though they had a shorter than normal set and Miles may not have had his "A" game, the show was great and I totally apreciated the effort they put forth. 🤘
Elizabeth, you need to travel to Mark’s place to give him a falsetto lesson, and he can let you try out that microphone! BTW, Tremonti is my favorite guitarist. The guy doesn’t know how to write a bad song, and he’s grown so much as a guitar player and vocalist. Amazing player, amazing father, analyzing person.
I hung out with Mark once backstage at a show; such a nice and genuine guy. He's a total rock star without the rock star attitude. In regards to the 1 practice before a show, yeah that's a typical pro jazz musician gig. My dad was in a big band, and played with big names like Tony Bennet and Nancy Wilson (the jazz singer). Turns out it's too expensive to take a full big band on the road, so what most of the big names do is hire the best of the best in each town. My dad was on that list for our region, so he would get those calls from time to time. They had to be experts at sight reading music because there would only be the one practice before the performance. It always sounded like these guys had been playing together for years, even though they just met some of them for the first time for the gig.
At least in the 1980s and 1990s country scene, singers would go town to town performing with the label assigned local band. Even the instrumentation of true bands would be done by session players on the records because studio time was expensive and most bands were not good enough for being able to do do it in three takes or less. Anything for the labels to save a buck.
This was a treat! I can relate alot to Mark as someone who is taking singing lessons, specially what he mentions about the trial of going from chest to head voice and falsetto. Thank you!
The way he teaches himself other artists songs is eerily similar to several acting techniques. Specifically with working on movement and dialect for the character. I respect his level of prep and his dedication to his craft. This is SO interesting! I love how much different arts intersect.
CREED songs are so Great. They are timeless and find yourself humming them for hours. I'm glad Mark, Scott, Brian and Scott Phillips are back together again. To me when Mark is playing it looks and seems so effortlessly. He's very talented and good vocalist. The Tremonti band is Great as well. My first time hearing them a few days ago. I would like to see CREED do a European tour. Big Money to be made!!!
Wow this is a beautiful interview. Honestly ever since I was 14 I've had an admiration for Mark. He inspired me to get my first Squire guitar way back when, poster on my wall. Then later a Prs electric Now. a Prs acoustic. A great dude. Level headed. God bless you my man.
He is really great! Loved Creed. Alter Bridge is an outright favorite! Tremonti band is fantastic! He is a dead ringer for Frank🤯❤️🔥 Thanks so much Elizabeth! Please react to some Tremonti! “Marching in Time” or “A Dying Machine” are two favorites… 🙏🤘
Thank you for this talk! I grew up with depression Era parents and my dad loved Sinatra and Jimmy Durante. I love rock music and love to see all their dimensions!
Mark talking about playing guitar being a battle and not easy blows my mind because of how absolutely killer he has been in the 25 or so years I’ve listened to him play.
Fantastic! Mark is really a spectacular musician and singer! Been a fan since day one of Creed! Thanks for bringing him on! Side note- since you are digging deep into harsh vocals please do something on Lamb of God preferably Reclamation. Think you would really enjoy dissecting Randy’s vocals. He is a real treat if you like it heavy!
So glad that Elizabeth got an interview with Mark Tremonti. Mark is such a versatile and talented artist.
Marks voice has grown tremendously. It’s remarkable. He’s a legend.
We talk a lot about his journey in this interview. I can't wait to go back and listen to his older stuff now!
_"I’ve always felt he’s a musician that truly grows as the years pass. An incredible person and artist!"_ TOTALY agree.
Bottom line, Mark is the quintessential pro in music and his ability to morph with his own talent is something to behold ❤❤❤
Got the chance to meet Mark, Myles, Brian and Scott a few years ago and they are all super nice guys as well. Don't forget his current jazz venture Tremonti Sings Sinatra
One of the most talented guitarists and vocalists of our time
Ah!!! Mark!!❤❤ can't wait for the next Tremonti album! He's always in his prime 😍
Tremendous, clever composer, excellent guitarist, full range vocals...seriously, one of the Top musicians on the planet. The only thing left to wonder is why would you not listen and enjoy. This was such an amazing interview/discussion! Mark is such a class act and incredible talent
Just a class act all around. One of the greats of guitar, you know it’s Mark Tremonti when you hear his playing.
HEY MArk .. Saw you two times with your great Band .. love Alter Bride they're so full of energy and strenght .. lovet the shows every bit ... Thank you Elizabeth for the interview ..

OMG!!! My mom and I would sing on the way to my brothers soccer games/practice. It’s where I first learned how to harmonize 💕💕
Mark is amazing! What a great interview:)
Unbelievably good interview Elizabeth. Thanks to you and especially Mark for being so generous with his thoughts. I loved this!!!😍😍😍

Loved this interview. So happy he's a good person, made my day. A+
Alter bridge Metalingus, one of my favorites the kinda song that just amps you up into a better mood/feeling
You and roughly the entire fandom of professional wrestling.
Jeff Beck's song Nadia is a perfect example of Jeff making a guitar do pretty much whatever he asks of it. Great Interview Elizabeth. Lastly
That song with Uli is Sails of Charon from MusikladenTv. One of the finest performances ever.
Omg Omg Omg My favorite guitarist ever and my favorite reaction channel = A Very Merry Christmas

Bangor? I hardly knew her.
Great, insightful interview. Mark is such a gem in every way.
The best musicians are the nicest because they dont have insecurity and do music for the love of music, not for ego. Mark is a class gentlemen.
Mark is one of the most all-around talented musicians in history. So underrated. I honestly didn't want this conversation to end. Thank you for including a discussion about mental health, as I feel there's such a stigma around it.
Tremonti is my all-time favorite guitarist/musician since many many years and always joy to see him❤ But now a question: What You think about the Stryper's singer? For example: Stryper - Transgressor. At the end i got goose bumps even on my back!

Tremonti = genius..........
I’m so surprised to hear him say he’s struggled with the guitar, you’d never tell! He seems like a natural for sure
I’m 55 and have a pretty eclectic taste in music, and in my late 20s and my 30s I listened to Creed and Alter Bridge a lot. Holy crap, Elizabeth... Tremonti??? 😮
You're officially Rock'N'Roll royalty. Congratulations!
And Merry Christmas!! 🎄
The Orlando concert was fantastic. Mark is so crazy talented.

Gracias Eli y Mark, uno de mis artistas favoritos. De los mejores podcast. Feliz navidad!

You're getting some big name interviews Elizabeth 👍
Thank you for this talk! I grew up with depression Era parents and my dad loved Sinatra and Jimmy Durante. I love rock music and love to see all their dimensions!

Waiting in Australia
I couldn't help but smile throughout the entire conversation. Loved it. Happy new year to you and your family!
He's such an awesome dude. I'm glad that you got to do this interview with Mark.
Mark talking about playing guitar being a battle and not easy blows my mind because of how absolutely killer he has been in the 25 or so years I’ve listened to him play.
I really do hope you asked him about the Sinatra project.... His guitar work is phenomenal, his Sinatra stuff is mind-blowingly 👍👍👍👍👍
Im so happy that Elizabeth got an interview with mark is awesome
Weathered is such a great album! Great guitar tone.
Underrated Guitarist🎸
wow. Mark is such a humble and interesting individual. Great interview!
