Solid list, but around here OF 100, WT101, and JD 7 are all over $27 so a good jump over the others. Actually everything in VA jumped $5 at the new year or at least since last time I looked. Guess the state needed more revenue
I can vouch that the BM single barrel is better than the BM BiB. You made the right choice. The BiB has some rougher edges than my single barrel - and I should emphasize MY single barrel. I also find the EW 1783 is better than the EW BiB for similar reasons. The 1783 is supposedly a couple of years older.
The only one of these I have seen and tried is the EWBIB and I did not enjoy it as much as a lot of people seem to. I agree with you that the higher the price the less value. I would even go lower to around the $30 mark. I can get Woodford's reserve on sale for just under that price and that is my go to for a mid range sipper. You can spend twice that and do not come close to twice the quality. It is still nice to enjoy some of the more expensive ones though.
I just picked up Evan Williams BiB for a decent ginger ale mixer. Trying it neat, I found the finish fairly bitter, not sweat or complex at all and not pleasant for my current tastes. The base EW was much better last I tried.
Or Jim Beam Double Oaked. I get that for around $22 and it is a really good pour. They used to have it in the 1.75 at local store but have not for a while
Have you tried Virgin 101? $17.95 for 750 ml at VA ABC stores, but not stocked by many. It is, however, available to ship to store. Very good under $20 101 proof bourbon.
The first couple of times I tried it I thought it was really good but after that the rest of the bottle was not that good. It did not live up to the expectations I had for it listening to everybody rave about the value of it. I think the black label is just as good and works fine for a mixer.
I know my budget took a hit, this month as well when the bills came in. Still I got a OF 1920 for New Years and a 1792 SB. I had just a little left so I got the Benchmark bib. I was surprised how much I liked it considering it was $16 and change.
@@WhiskeyRow Bills happen, it is what it is. But the Benchmark bib was good for the price. It makes me curious about the full proof now that is only $19 near me.
I'm not really a big drinker, but I am a big sipper. I enjoy trying a vast variety of Whiskeys, Bourbons and Ryes. Primarily based on these types of Reviews and other Articles.
WT 101 just can't be beat for the price. I've never had the old black top ET, but I don't overly care for the new one. EW is fine. Bench is alright. The 101 is just solid; always.
My budget and tastes seem to go for either $20 bottles or $50 plus. The real good ones costs over 50 and the 35 dollar ones are not much better than Early Times.
Benchmark Full proof blows them all out the water. I prefer BIB better than single and my small batch is better than the SB I have as well. Top floor to me is the worst one.
My Top 5 20$ish bottles
#1 Old Forester 100
#2 Wild Turkey 101
#3 Early times bib
#4 Evan Williams
#5 Jack Daniels old no 7 😅

Wild Turkey 101 is $22 in my market and just the other day i found it for $18. Can't beat it in my opinion.
LUCKY! Around here the WT101 is over $26 now
Love these lower cost blinds!
Glad you like them!
My cheap go to bottles are JTS Brown bib and 1783.
I buy Old Forester 100 all the time for $26. Wild Turkey 101 for a very similar price.
Yeah, love them both, but have been filming with them a lot lately and wanted something closer in price to the JW Dant
Gobble until you wobble! Love that Wild Turkey 101 it's the perennial value king.
My budget whiskey is WT 101 $22, buffalo trace $21, old Forester $22, and jack Daniels no 7 $19....😀🥃
Interesting tasting. I'd like to see you do another budget tasting featuring regular Early Times, Ancient Age, Nd Evan Williams Black.
I like the EW 1783 more than the EW BIB. One way to save money on some of these is to buy 1.75L instead of smaller bottles.
Great list, I really like that JW Dant. Just a hair better than JTS brown in my book. Always grab a couple of both whenever I'm in KY.

Damnit, now i'm going to have to try the 1783... never had it.

Yeah, I feel like the EWBIB doesn't compel me like it use to

Love this blind! It helps me choose which one I will pickup next time I need a budget bottle.
Appreciate the feedback, thank you!
Nice list and good presentation... I'll have to try the JTS Brown
Out of the ones you tried, have only had the JTS Brown and for the price, it's solid
I really like the Early Times BIB. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the JTS
I think Jim Beam Black Label deserves a place in this lineup. Great list though! Definitely going to grab a bottle of the JTS! Cheers! 🥃
Or Jim Beam Double Oaked. I get that for around $22 and it is a really good pour. They used to have it in the 1.75 at local store but have not for a while
Love the bottom shelf juice, lots of them to pick from. ET is gone the way of the Dinosaur in michigan 😢 Cheers 👍 😉 🥃
Oh that stinks!
Great video. I like the budget blinds. I just wish I could get more than one of those (EW Bib) in Wisconsin. Cheers.
Some are saying try the EW 1783, I haven't yet, but going to grab one
It's good, but the peanuts come out comparing it to others. But I'd like to see it. Cheers.@@WhiskeyRow

Interesting, never heard of it. Gotta check it out!
I've tried the Even Williams and just don't care for it myself .I even gave it sometime and tried again but no go. Great Episode

Thanks for the info...will try me some JTS been hitting Total Wine -love their selection, hope for your success already S&L so 👍👍

Sorry about the bills... they suck! Glad you liked the B BIB, I don't have it but want to try it

Yes, I do need to bring it down a few notches in 2024 regarding the expenses of Bourbons and Whiskeys. I've already been bad.
We've all been there… Most of the last couple years I've been there lol. It's just keep it in perspective of everything else.

Would you describe any of those 5 as SMOOTH, as a young palate, non oak and smooth are my choices with excellent depth of flavor.
From those 5 the Benchmark SiB would be my "smooth" recommendation.
WT 101 just can't be beat for the price. I've never had the old black top ET, but I don't overly care for the new one. EW is fine. Bench is alright. The 101 is just solid; always.
I can't argue, but it is $27 here in VA these days so not the same level of budget.
that's a shame@@WhiskeyRow
JW dant and JTS brown are not available in michigan i believe 😕

Jts is always my daily go to when I don’t want to open a more pricey bottle
It has been harder to find in VA for me or i'd drink it more
Overpaying is fun!!!!!!
Wild turkey 101 is my favorite
It's great, but more expensive around here than this group.
@@WhiskeyRow true keep up the good content
My 30 budget bourbon
Old Grand Dad BIB
Old Forrester 100
1792 Small Batch
Smokewagon
Redwood Empire Lost Monarch

Leave the name up longer when tasting vs flashing it…
You can play back at 0.25 speed on the parts where you want to catch the names.
Thanks for the feedback!
