One of the most memorable moments of my first trip back after the shutdown was when the Golden Horseshoe pianist made eye contact with me. I felt like he was singing one of his numbers directly to me.
I would really like to see the Haunted Mansion Open in any capacity when I visit from Australia is early September. It was one of my favs when I first went 20 years ago and would really like my husband to experience it also. I am bummed I wont get to experience Winnie the Pooh as it was being built when I visited last time. I am grateful to people posting ride throughs on youtube so I can a least see what I am missing. Thank you Freshbaked for all your vidoes. I have been following you for the past 2 years and feel less and less overwhelmed and prepared to visit and make the most of our time.
Yeah, they need to build a Haunted Mansion Holiday ride in Disney’s California Adventure as well as in Epcot for Florida so as not to tie up the Haunted Mansions.
I think the queue will go up really fast once the hole issue is solved. Moving dirt takes longer than building. It wouldn’t shock me if it was ready by the end of August still.
Definitely agree on the live shows, it's a crying shame. They really are part of the magic of Disneyland to me, and not having the opportunity for guests to experience that - regardless of popularity - is heartbreaking.
David, Five Fires mentioned he heard the issue with Porto's is their Holiday Policy. They are closed on the Major Holidays. Disney wants them open everyday. Something about the contract for being located in Downtown Disney.
Wouldn’t surprise me. Malls tend to have rules around minimum hours a business needs to be open. Disney taking a maximalist position would seem par for the course
I totally agree about the live entertainment! We went to Disneyland right after it opened after Covid and there were no parades or shows yet. The Magic was just missing! We need the live shows. I'm especially sad to hear there are no more shows at the Golden Horseshoe, that was such a part of my childhood. Thanks for all you do, I love your videos.
I’m visiting Disneyland this August with my dad for the first time. One of the main reasons we chose that date was to be able to ride the Haunted Mansion but with the Holiday overlay. We are really hoping for it to be open even if it doesn’t have the queue ready.
I don’t go to the parks for the rides, I go for the live entertainment and the parades. I am so sad this has been continually decreasing especially at the Golden Horseshoe. Disney if you are listening please please bring these back for us none ride seeking adventurers.
My whole family screamed when you said rumored July opening for Haunted Mansion! We’re headed on my kids’ first trip mid August, and I’ve been sad we won’t go on Haunted Mansion as it’s my favorite. That would feel like some real Disney magic for my family if it opened before our trip and we got to go on it ❤️👻
Nightmare Before Christmas in July sounds fun! I think having the opportunity to ride is better than not having the Mansion open at all. I'm not a big fan of the virtual queue but the Mansion is such a large attraction/people eater that reopening it with any queue is great for the other attractions as well.
I did some quick math based on my knowledge of pay rates and hours. Cutting the shows you mentioned will save upwards of $1mil per year. That is certainly just a drop in the bucket of the parks budget.
Better food and a great show and they could make Golden Horseshoe an expensive restaurant! Live entertainment is MAGICAL because you connect with other people in a meaningful way! It is the soul of Disney!
Especially with the Golden Horseshoe, where it's been a staple pretty much from the beginning, they really should be doing some live entertainment there. You're absolutely right, even a piano player, like they have outside of the snack bar on Main Street would be great. But at this point, I'd settle for a screen showing any old World of Disney recordings of old shows there, like the Golden Horseshoe Review.
I am pretty sure I see Adam The Woo where you are talking about doing the virtual queue and he’s to the right taking a picture lol I absolutely love your videos. We watch them every night ❤ Thank you so much for what you do !
11:14 you can see the ladder coming out of the hole in front of the HM. It appears to be an extension ladder which would tell me that the hole is probably 10+ feet deep. That’s a huge hole! 😮
I have three reactions to this first, it’s ridiculous whenever they charge their regular prices but have such a significant portion of the park walled off, so I think they need to get it opened as soon as possible. This leads to my second point, do you really want your crown jewel park looking like this when the most avid Disney fans are going to be descending upon that area in early August? Unfortunately, I won’t be able to go to the park at that time but I know most people pair a park visit with the D23 Expo. Lastly, I’m tired of all the hate I hear Disney getting online, especially when people are comparing it to Epic Universe and how Disney is going to epically fail basically because they’re not responding to the Universal expansion, but I feel like that’s not really a fair comparison. I see Universal as a park that is catered to a very specific audience that is looking for thrills, but Disney is meant to cater to everyone; grandparents, little babies, people with disabilities and large part of that is their shows. It’s the streetmosphere, it’s the fact that you can go to the park and spend an entire day and not have to go on a single ride because the atmosphere was always so inviting and welcoming to every person. Universal just can’t match that, but if Disney starts to lose that, then they really are losing their identity in trying to compete with somebody who they shouldn’t even be trying to directly compete with the first place since they serve very different demographics.
I think that they are creating a seating area above Walt's apartment for guests who do the tour. The tree in front of the building I believe would obscure the view of the parade if it was VIP seating.

So sad how disney has no idea what they're doing as far as entertainment goes. They're worth over 180 BILLION and can't afford live entertainment? Really?
Oh, it’s not that they can’t afford it. It’s that the fat cats at the top like their nice checks and bonuses. Paying for these performers would mean that they would *gasp* make less and not afford a tenth home or can’t buy that nice private plane b/c of unionized higher wages and benefits. It all comes down to greed. I have voted with my wallet since 2021 and refuse to support those ghouls, and I hope more and more families across this great nation do so as well
Of course they can afford it. The problem is that Disney corporate is infected with same short-term-profit seeking most U.S. corporations are infected with, which drives them to prioritize reducing wage, maintenance, and property expenses (which results in an immediate boost in profit at the expense of product quality, customer goodwill, and long-term growth) over expansion and quality assurance (which sacrifices short-term profit to maintain customer goodwill, grow the business, and secure future sales). With the parks full-to-bursting and making huge profits, instead of expanding to sell more admissions, they tried to synergize with their other products (all the IP tie-ins) and drive profits via cost-cutting. And then Disney+ was an attempt to take the low-profit (still profitable) leasing of their digital entertainment to others and capture all of the profit, but they failed to recognize the limits of that market and the effect of competition in their business plan, so they turned a low-profit source into a negative-profit source, which exacerbated the corporate "need" to create short-term profit from the parks division. And thus we get price hikes, smaller food portion sizes, entertainment cutbacks, frequent ride shut-downs, and ride components not working for moths and years in the parks.

You are correct, about live entertainment. My daughter is 11. Finally old enough to ride the big coasters at Magic mountain. She will ride them all but gets bored, she craves interaction and entertainment! Her favorite event is Knott’s Berry Farm Ghost Town Alive ! She love to play a roll in the actions. She spends all day doing it !! We do the rides that night ! Lessons all theme parks should learn- MM is probably the lowest attended park in Ca it has the most coasters ..think about it
I can’t wait for Haunted Mansion! I’m assuming it won’t be done within the month. Is there some good haunted mansion merch? Thank you for your videos. 😊
Just to toss out an idea on the entrance gates, it could be that the gates were always meant to be a temporary test. So removing the test gates could indicate that the testing was successful and they're no longer needed. So out they go to get ready for the new permanent gates.

And you are creating this estimate based on what data?
@@WindowtotheMagic I have 30 years in the construction industry and have worked on theme park projects in the past.
Do you know what happens if you have a Fantasmic Dining package, but the show doesn't go on? Like, after you've eaten the meal earlier in the day?
On the website it says no refunds, you are just out of luck
@@TheImmortalSpark Dang, that's cold.
Wasn't there an announcement just a week or two ago that Avatar will be the first project for Disneyland Forward? I swear I saw something from an official source on that.
Bummer about Dr. Strange. Glad I got to see it in May. Never saw the Golden Horse Shoe show. Touch the Dapper Dans & I be pissed!
I cannot wait until Hana mansion opens because that’s one of my favorite rides to go when I’m my favorite all the rights on my favorite
Did you notice the new in painted que lines for Pooh’s ride? Looks like they are either extending it or putting up a new entrance
Golden Vine Winery. It was probably covered by Blue Sky Cellar signage the last decade.
PLEASE PLEASE open a virtual queue by mid July. I can’t go all the way to zDisneyland from Texas for my rare trip and not have any chance of riding my favorite ride 😢
yes, open the ride
Do you think it still might open in early September
Watch the video. I believe David talks about it in the video.
The Fantasmic Cofferdam might be the fountain heads or the electric for the fireworks barge and shooting rafts for the fireworks positions in the river. 8:02
I wonder if they will expedite opening Haunted Mansion early to take the heat off of Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
Sad without the shows 😢 especially Goldenhorseshoe bc that was a favorite of Walt Disney. They held their anniversary party there, Walt and Lillian
I would be curious to know what is the absolute slowest day at Disneyland from the pros like yourself.
@ 10:38 the black on the brick wall ( if that is the area you're talking about ) is where the planter against the brick wall use to be.
Just to toss out an idea on the entrance gates, it could be that the gates were always meant to be a temporary test. So removing the test gates could indicate that the testing was successful and they're no longer needed. So out they go to get ready for the new permanent gates.
Yeah that could possibly be it where they put them on the exit lines as to not obstruct and now they're ready to be reintroduced into the entry lines
@@michaeltompkins5919I hope so! I really hope they add more uses for the magic bands here at the California parks.
