"Pass me the wrench...no, not that wrench" As a female owner of a vessel equipped with a CAT3126, I can appreciate that exchange! Learning a lot from your videos. Thanks!
Enjoy all your how to videos. I believe cat says not to pre fill oil filters. Putting oil in the center puts oil and any contaniments on the wrong side of the filter so dirt etc goes right into the engine. Also there should be enough of an oil film on engine surfaces for start up. Like the way you added the amount of time it took.
Hey, thanks for watching. I have heard both sides, i.e pre filling skips the filter and not pre filling starves engine of oil on start up. I guess going with the Cat recommendation is the right thing to do.
Hi, Great question! They are different. The 310 had little windage so was no blown around much and was pretty easy to dock. The 400 is taller and can be affected by the wind. That having been said, the diesels have a ton of torque and as soon as you put it in gear, it responds well. Both being inboard in my opinion are pretty easy to dick once yogurt use to them. Both are docile and don't do anything unexpected.

Yea Larry, you're right
Shouldn't be any dirt in new oil and filter lol.
Thanks for the videos. Does the 3126 have an oil valve that needs to be turned on when changing oil?
Thanks for watching. Th engine itself does not have a valve but the reverse oil pump manifold needs to be set for the engine you are drawing from.
Sorry just found this video. I have 2000 310 dancer. Looking at diesels on 38 foot fly. Which for you is easier to dock? Calypso I or II
