If you’re from England like I am, you’ll understand Jodie perfectly well. She could have said the lines in any accent, any that she did brilliantly in both S01 & S02 of Killing Eve, but that wouldn’t be coming from within her.
I'm proud to be Danes Denmark has held "stand up cancer" and the Danes donated 141,895,200 million, ddk.(22.012.907 USD) We are 5.8 million Danes. It is almost 28 ddk per (4,4 USD) from the youngest to the oldest citizen in Denmark.❤️🙏🏼❤️
My mum had the same thing. She didn't smoke a day in her life but we were a little late in finding it. I'm glad your mum made it out okay and FUCK CANCER.
So many new ways to beat cancer. In the 80's my type cancer was Not curable. But, thank goodness to people joining and contributing money, research, etc, I recovered, and 14 years later I still am. Standing up does work ! Joanne: so glad your Mum is recovered, cancer touches us all. Be well.
It is hard to talk about Cancer... especially when someone you know has passed away from cancer. All I hear about is the effort to find a cure for cancer. And this is a much needed fight; to find many cures, as cancer comes in many forms. What I hear less about is what causes cancer. I think we need to spend more effort on identifying things that cause cancer and fighting to free the world of those things too, so people don't become sick in the first place. Preventive medicine can play a big part in this fight too.
i suppose it's equally important to prevent it as much as we can, instead of curing it only (by the way the cure is vital in case cancer appears, this is obvious) 🙏
This is all good and well, certainly made with good intentions, and the fates of the patients are heartbreaking. Only --- how does a campaign video fight a disease? Science does. Training enough doctors and nurses does. A well funded health system does. I don't question the good intentions but feel I am missing something here. Can someone fill me in?
@@standuptocancerUK Thank you for responding. I looked into it a bit. Funding cuts and all. So please don't get me wrong: you and the participants in the video all are doing adorable work. My view only is that it shouldn't be necessary. In rich countries like ours health research and healthcare should be shouldered by society as a whole. The UK used to be a shining beacon in that respect, with top level research and care. Maybe it sounds provocative, but I'd say funding cuts to healthcare, emergency response and medical research victimizes patients, victimizes the weakest members of society. Sad.
