    Having both, myself and fly primarily fixed wing;.., It seems (imho) that in a analog comparison; the DJI gives a good deal of immersive'ness feeling compared to the HDO2's; I believe Mario even mentioned this also in one of his reviews. Both are good goggles, but I think the DJI's give a bit more of that "being there" feeling. That's the reason why I bought the DJI's, fwiw.

      I don't think I mentioned the fov? I think you are getting it mixed up with aspect ratio. The DJI screen resolution in 16:9 is 1440 by 810. But as there is no 16:9 option available for DJI analogue. There is a zoom option which is what I think you are illuding to but even when set to 100% the dji 4:3 resolution becomes 1080 by 810 where as the hdo2 is 1280 by 960 natively. So a higher resolution coupled with the oled screen makes for a better analogue experience with the fatsharks

    Andy, I am so glad you mentioned that not all of us can afford to try or buy these goggles (but still interested in the development). I fly a lot indoors alone and have now multiple DVRs. I got the Eachine watch and the Skyzone Sky02 goggle's built in DVR and Eachine PowerDVR wired up to a FR632 diversity receiver. Not sure which one I should be using or should I go for the PowerPlay? I have the DJI goggles and the external URUAV analog adapter. For analog I have gone back to my old goggles simply because once I add the URUAV adapter, 3d printed holder, antennas etc it's just getting too bulky, heavy & awkward. Especially when I slide the goggles up and they keep sliding down. Ok with quads as you already have them on but launching a plane with that lot is a pain as it keeps sliding down over my eyes during launching.

      @@AndyRCchannel I am using the URUav module with Clearview Goggles module. I also had this on the Clearview Groundstation connected via cable to the DJI goggles. Maybe it's a thing that only happens with the way Clearview handles the video.

    Cool find on the 59.9 vs 60 fps. I personally think its better to record too much then to drop frames like the fatshrk DVR. That way the editing later can fix it. However this is a simple fix that DJI could put into a future update to give tru 59.9fps

    1.) If you look at the video files recorded, the Mbps on DJI is much higher than 20. I've seen as high as 82 Mbps!
    2.) There is a new V2 of the URUAV adapter which has solder pads and a power switch now.
    3.) The best "side mount" URUAV 3d case right now is the new V2 from www.themakerboyz.com - the fit / finish / engineering into it is OUTSTANDING. I could not get over how well thought out it is, and how excellent the fit / finish is. There is a "quick release" style baseplate as well to easily remove the mod when not in use!

      @@spanthyx It sounds like you didnt see my antenna video? th-cam.com/video/HS0gpB8ljzQ/w-d-xo.html from my testing. The DJI system always gives different results. I use stock antennas on the top and menace antennas at the bottom and thats a good all round setup for me. I struggle to buy into any antenna because at the end of the day DJI has not told anyone how the DSP works, so I feel like people are being exploited by these very expensive re purposed analogue antennas that give very little gains. As for long range, regardless of the antenna. The two way communication system uses packet timing to cut you off at 4km regardless of the antenna, so id sat save your money.

    Can you test them both at the edge of reception. DJI has issues with image blackout vs hdo2-s?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      image blackout is coming from the people modding them manually rather than using the URUAV board. especially if you are using rapid fire. I believe manually modding the system requires adding a bec into the circuit and if its not rated for enough current then it will brown out not black out. It just so happens that the rapidfire module draws more juice when its trying to give you a picture through static.
