Your a voice for us man plain and simple we can't really get these companies to progress things if we don't have mediators that push them to change things and your one of those mediators that when you don't like something you voice it and that's great, really :) I am a big fan of the products you have helped push out and I hope you keep going with it cause with your background and the way you think we can get them to keep making things better and better :)

Thanks for the review. Just pluggin in my HD02's for the first time, Screens are nice and clear, the focus adjust is so nice. Finally a crisp image without having to fiddle around with fit. My BIG takeaway, and the reason I'm considering returning them or just selling them, is the "ring". The circular lenses create a big distracting ring around the image, and since they catch a little light from the screen it's *very* distracting, It's like looking at a movie screen in a dark theater and seeing a dimly lit ring around the entire movie screen. Every single prior google had had rectangular lenses and I've never noticed a ring or border around the image. I'm going to take them out and fly them tomorrow and see if it's not too distracting. Wondering if you see the ring too and if you find it distracting. Maybe you have a tip on how to minimize or remove that effect. Thanks in advance for a reply.

Of course, you can adjust the over contrast CCD image with the camera controls in the menu. Might want to do that. Or, just get their few bucks mini camera control board and add them to your quads. They weigh nothing, and will let you adjust and tweak your camera image perfectly to your tastes, for your new OLED HDO2 goggles! Best of both worlds! 😎 🤘

best "hack " i came up with for foam, since i must be weird shaped lmao, buy a roll of velcro, and you can custom cut a surround, where u can add/delete sections 1 layer at a time to build it out, to where you can still use your favorite foam surround. helped me tremendously... i have a super narrow bridge and a perscription around 4.0 ... so i could custom build the base that i now can't budge from the newbee foam.

@Mr Steele, Adding thicker foam won't allow you to move your eyes away from the lenses. If your eyelashes touch the lenses at the point that you achieve optimal focus right now, then that distance is fixed no matter how far the rest of your face is from the goggles. If you add thicker foam, you'd just have to run the focus further back. The only way to add more eye relief (allow greater range of distance from lens to eyeball) is to use less magnification of the primary lens which then produces a smaller FoV (unless you simultaneously increase the size of the display panel itself). That's why the DomV2 and HDO optics work for a greater percentage of people, than the super high FoV HD (which worked for almost no one) and HD2s (which work for only some people).
BTW, the reason the HDO2's can provide narrower IPD is because of the round housing around the lenses. The minimum IPD is determined by the point at which the housings around the lenses collide with the cutout for the nose. When the housing was a rectangle, the corner hits sooner. Making the housing round there provides another 2.5mm extra movement to the inside on each side. (54mm versus 59mm)

I don't know if I need 75 degrees, but I definitely need more than the 69 degrees my goggles stop at. I can see, quite easily, that it would be much better if it could go to 71 or 73 degrees. Thank you Fatshark for making this a wider adjustment! 😎 🤘

The osd for brightness and contrast has actually been around for a while. I had it in my HD2 and Dom v3 and hd3 and HDO. I did have to get the LCD driver repaired in the ht2 and the HD3 so maybe they updated it when I sent them in

So, for me the big question on the new goggles is what happens with the head tracker?
The HT button is still there... is the head tracker included or needs to be purchased as a separate module like it did on the older dominators?
And how do you connect it to the radio if the HT port is gone?
Maybe they devised a wireless device? Now that would be cool and useful.

Awesome review! Too bad the Power Button is somehow not optimal. Keeping a seperate button for Fan Control would have been great. Another missed topic is the sd card slot, looks similar to the hdo, a pain to get it out. Besides that, looks great.

@@MrSteeleFPV they also have an IR sensor to save battery as you take your face out of the goggles to turn off the display. The fpv connect that allows you to live stream from the goggles i think will be one of the biggest benefits of Orqa. Just waiting on my shipping number!

Hello Mr Steele, First I'd like to mention that the quality of your informational vids are improving every episode. Good job! Regarding the new HDO2 goggles... Because of your video I immediately looked into them, especially because of the broader IPD, new individual focus, and wider FOV (something I was waiting for). There does seem to be a discrepancy regarding the FOV. There is talk about 50 degrees, but the HDO2 manual states 46 degrees. Can you look into this?

@MrSteele you say that you have the lenses focused almost all the way out against your eyes. Out of curiosity, what is your prescription? Wondering which way it goes regarding the direction that the lenses will have to be moved.
