As soon as the opinions of Abdullah ibn Umar RA were mentioned and how no to take them lightly i immediately thought to myself what about the issue of the beard and then ustadh abdul rahman Hassan addressed it SubhanAllah. This is why i love him and his work. He never leaves out anything and always addresses everything that is possiblly relevant or related to whatever is being said.

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ الْحَرَامِيُّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ لَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ " يَا جَابِرُ أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكَ مَا قَالَ اللَّهُ لأَبِيكَ " . وَقَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَقَالَ " يَا جَابِرُ مَالِي أَرَاكَ مُنْكَسِرًا " . قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتُشْهِدَ أَبِي وَتَرَكَ عِيَالاً وَدَيْنًا . قَالَ " أَفَلاَ أُبَشِّرُكَ بِمَا لَقِيَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَبَاكَ " . قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ " مَا كَلَّمَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا قَطُّ إِلاَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ وَكَلَّمَ أَبَاكَ كِفَاحًا . فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدِي تَمَنَّ عَلَىَّ أُعْطِكَ . قَالَ يَا رَبِّ تُحْيِينِي فَأُقْتَلُ فِيكَ ثَانِيَةً . فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ سُبْحَانَهُ إِنَّهُ سَبَقَ مِنِّي أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهَا لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ . قَالَ يَا رَبِّ فَأَبْلِغْ مَنْ وَرَائِي . قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى {وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ} " . Talhah bin Khirash said: "I head Jabir bin 'Abdullah say" 'When 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin )Haram) was killed on the Day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah met me, and said: "O Jabir, shall I not tell you what Allah has said to your father?" Yahya said in his Hadith: "And he said: 'O Jabir, why do I see you broken-hearted?' I (Jabir) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my father has been martyred and he has left behind dependents and debts.' He said: 'Shall I not give you the glad tidings of that with which Allah met your father?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Allah never spoke to anyone except from behind a screen, but He spoke to your father directly, and He said: "O My slave! Ask something from Me and I shall give it to you." He said: "O Lord, bring me back to life so that I may be killed in Your cause a second time." The Lord, Glorified is He, said: "I have already decreed that they will not return to life." He said: "My Lord, then convey (this news) to those whom I have left behind." 1st part of Muwatta hadith - marwiyatuan min or hadith connected to the Nabi peace and blessings be upon him. Majority of Muwatta is this type of hadith! Most sahih is Malik from Nafi to ebn Umar. Malik took from some sahabas over others, if he couldn't take Umar's view he would go to ebn Umar, if he couldn't find from a sahaba would take from the 7 fuquha of Medina who are : Saeed ebn Musaatan, Urwah ebn Zubayr, abu hurel (?) Ubidullah, Abu Bakr, Qasim, Sulaiman, Bukhari would also believe Malik to Nafi to ebn Umar is the best chain. Bukhari said if he found hadith from Malik he would keep it & go out of his way to find it. The shorter the chain the better. In Sahih M. there is no chain that is 3 between him and the prophet, best he had 4? Bukhari has many of 3 between him and the PRophet peace and blessings be upon him. If Malik is in a chain he would keep it even if it's long. type 2 hadith (hadith) are mursal meaning when a tabi'in reports on the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him w/o mentioning the rest of chain, all sahaba are reliable but we don't know if it's another tabi'in. Sahabas can narrate from each other... same with tabi'in, maybe the middle tabi'in between a reliable one and a sahaba is unreliable. Ebn Abbas was 3 during hijrah and he would tell us of things in Mecca as he heard from the sahabas. Allah says He is pleased with sahaba, so they have tazkiya. 10 :45 - So Mursal is a disconnected hadith. Saaed ebnn Musayib , 90% of his teachers is sahaba, so for him to say I heard from Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him it looks likely the hadith is connected. Imam shafi says 5 conditions to take mursal from Saeed. Jami Tahsil fi Ahkham Marasil by Salahudin K Kelbi speaking on issue of mursal. Scholars try to find connected versions of Muwatta's mursal hadith. Yahya says mursal of Malik's book is more beloved to me. type 3 or Munqate meaning disconnected after the sahaba. tahtib al Mudaraik Qadi Iyad ahyasabi, says through other chains all of Malik's munqate are connected, like from Saeed Qahtan, Layth 'Saad, AbdurRahman Mhdi, Awza'i. says hadith in Malik's Muwatta says from hadith to ebn MAsud, we already know it Abdullah ebn Idris al Owdi, other then ebn MAsud it's Abdullah ebn AbdurRahman ebn mhdi who narrated it and other of these tabi'in are thiqah. reiview: 20 :30 - type 4 , hadith which is mawqoof or stops at a companion - either their speech of act. The sahaba doesn't attribute it to the prophet, but it's not a matter of ijtihad, like a ghaib issue. This takes the ruling of marwiyatan or connected. There is no person who breathes except rizq is written so perfect way you get your rizq. type 5 hadith - Balaghani, or it reached me, but he doesn't mention the isnad. all Balaghat of Imam Malik are found to be connected in other books except 4. risalah by ebn salah , author of muqdimah brought chains for all bhuagat except 4. tahqiq is abdi Fatah al Ghudaa, under majmul risalah p 197. 30 :40 - sixth type of hadith is statement of sahaba or tabi'in. Imam Malik saw Umar got it right and Qur'an supported his view. the ones taken in Badr... and saying let everyone take care of those in their tribes... Issue of Hijab as Umar said some wiqed ppl come. Umar wanted Khaummer to end (Also issue with Aisha & Hafsha) Umar was Caleef for 10 years so he was a leader & a judge. Imam Malik took from ebn Umar due to Aisha and what other sahabas said saying I didn't see anyone stick to the sunnah like Ebn Umar Jabir ebn Abdullah ebn Haram ( the orphan w/ 7 sisters) , Allah spoke to His father directly as Tirmidhi mentions ... Jabir cried for his father when he was shahid in Badr, said look at a sahaba that never changed look at eb Umar. Ebn Masud said he see us, but none of us has strength over his nafs like ebn Umar. Abu Hurairah, Abu Sai'd Khudri said Ebn Umar is like the prophet. 40 :00 - Sh. Albani said ebn Umar said let your beard grow, & he also trimmed it, and Sh. Albani said to follow him due to his istiqma sunna. Abu Hurairah also narrated this hadith and followed it. Said ebn Musaayib is the most knowledgable tabi'in, scholars disagree who is more virtuous him or Uwais al Qarni. Imam Malik thought as stated in Muwafaqat Shatibi says sunna is 3, what is attributed to the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him, opposite to bida, and what is attributed to Sahabas like the hadith follow sunna of the 4 caleef. Shatitbi's Muwafaqat has usul of Imam Malik, Malik didn't write his usul but his students extracted it. Imam shafi wrote his own usul. type 7 is Malik's fiqh. summary ... 50 :00 - Darul Qautni and imam dhahabi wrote about who are the teachers of Imam Malik. Jazak Allahu Khayran, I have a question. Ustadh (May Allaah preserve him) mentioned that Imam Malik narrated from Zayd ibn Aslam 26 hadiths at 55:46 but then he mentioned that he had 64 from him at 1:00:02. Can someone please tell me which one's correct?
Abdullah ibne masoods riwayah has abdullah ibne idrees al oudi Other than abdullah ibne masood abdur rehman ibne mahdi All balaghat are (connected) except 4 ( 28:12 )( ibne salah has written a book about them which should be referred to) Shuyukh imam malik 54:49
depends on the she'uh, zaidis are like barely in Islam, and also maybe some scular ones, but 12ers who say Quran is changed, ahl bait are new prophets & will bring a new one in end times, attaq the sahabas, or pray to qubur are not Muslims as an example.

depends on the she'uh, zaidis are like barely in Islam, and also maybe some scular ones, but 12ers who say Quran is changed, ahl bait are new prophets & will bring a new one in end times, attaq the sahabas, or pray to qubur are not Muslims as an example.
