A very busy HQ. I was in 24 Air Mobile for three years, did nothing apart from exercise after exercise. Was in the ARRC for two years, did nothing except exercise. Went to NI and my feet never touched the ground!
Frankly the fiasco was due a leadership failure in the US including both Biden and Trump, the British involvement was making the best of a bad job and ensuring a bad situation didn't turn into something worse, for which those involved can be commended.
The fiasco was the wider political situation. The actual evacuation was very well performed by those on the ground considering the absolutely overwhelming amount of civilians.
I watched it from beginning to end, and the JGSDF also conducts similar training, but looking at the actual combat experience and training, it is my guess that the British Army is superior, as the JGSDF rarely makes it public. Even though the JGSDF purchased anti-bomb vehicles from Australia and regularly trained, they were slow to make political decisions, and were unable to send rescue units for Japanese nationals as quickly as the US and the UK when they withdrew from Afghanistan.
I remember media like Patlabor 2 and more criticizing the JSDF and Diet over being too slow/political to react. Interesting to see that might still be the case
The scenario is 'in eastern Europe'. Perhaps no English spoken then. So trying to grab the arms of a frightened and injured individual while saying in a stressed voice what could very well be 'I'll finish you off' might not be the best way to go. Lots to learn on this exercise I think.
⚠️ A good video with real insight.
Showcasing a unique branch of our 🇬🇧 armed forces.
Thanks for the update,

Funny how he describes JFHQ as the "master minds" behind the evacuation from Afghanistan. That was an absolute fiasco.
Yeah, because of Joe Biden!
@@terenceballands1374 We’ve got one! 😂

The soldiers did their duty. Just like every war, the government let them down.

Without sounding like a pejorative description it’s like a military version of International Rescue! Be safe out there folks!

If you let them come that close you're already done.
