These pop up on eBay every so often - if you are patient (and check very often) you can nab one for yourself. The second best option is to look for a Dietzgen model that has the micrometer on the end. These are fairly common and not too expensive, although they rarely come by themselves - usually they are part of a larger Master-Pro set.

This is true. Modern drafting equipment is definitely not manufactured at the same levels of quality and beauty.
